    It would be interesting to have results on longevity. If the ARB costs more but lasts longer, then economy of purchase swings in favour of the one that lasts.

      you are correct for sure, righ tnow both are still going strong, how ever at this point the ARB is used significly less in the mojave cause all it dow now is the front locker. ill keep an eye on how the ezflat preforms over time and update as we go, but right now we im locing the EZflate

    Should have used the same vehicle for both tests.
    EZ-flate 50% duty cycle, ARB 100% duty cycle but they both get the job done.
    personally, I like the mounting options of the ARB for a JL and one less case to pack.

    Most winches have power leads you could connect to vs opening the battery? Perhaps run remote cables and incorporate those heavy duty warn cable connections so you don't have to open the hood. I did that for jumper cables. Just a thought.

      They also make smaller Anderson connectors rated for lower amperages, no way that compressor draws more than 30a continuous. But the 175a connector on a set of jumper cables is the bees knees. Put Anderson connectors in the rear and on both sides after putting one on some 25' long 1/0 cables

      Same here, I have an ARB twin under the hood with a one gallon air tank underneath and quick disconnects on the front and rear bull bar. The compressor also runs my front ARB air locker, it’s a slick setup that has worked well. Cheers

      i have the ARB under the hood as well but it runs my air lockers. With the usage and how often we go out, I'm afraid I'll burn out the ARB quick and could end a trip quickly without the lockers, and to replace would be double the cost of the EZflate case.

    So I found this interesting I'm just starting to think about getting my truck set up for off-road and I have to say I prefer the idea of one board air however that could be a good option for a backup or even if it is your primary but my question is are your tires the same size like if they're not the exact same tire on the exact same rim there might be a volume difference there so I'm kind of curious whichever truck you wanted to do it on I'm kind of curious to see you do it again but run the test with both compressors on one vehicle whether it's the gladiator or the other one I don't care but just hooking up the compressors using the same lines and all on the same tires I'm curious if there would be any difference there she has some some wheels are different some tires are different you know there's always going to be some differences in the manufacturing process but I don't know for sure if they're even the same tires on your two vehicles very interesting though I like the idea of it being completely waterproof and dustproof actually kind of tempted to get one just to have in my truck for if I need it and I don't mean for off-roading I mean just in general like I'd rather pay the money for a good compressor like that to have for actually just keeping out in the barn or in the truck for a tire goes lower or something I still that's a variable to me is the you're to you're doing the test on two different sets of tires so there could be some differences there in volume which could affect the amount of time it takes to get the pressure up

    • @crawllander
      @crawllander  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So i understand and see what your saying that there would be differences in the manufacturing but, it's almost the same, in my opinion, we are both running the same tires in the same size, the rims are same size as well, just different styles. Same vehicle running almost identical setup, and just slight differences in brand mods. I believe the time difference that it took to inflate the tires wouldn't change much.

      the arb has been a available in a box to carry around for over 15 years, you can mount if you want to or not, You also have a 100% duty cycle vs a 50% duty cycle, the ARB could be carried to 10 vehicles one after another and it wouldn't thermal throttle however the ez flate wont, you'll be waiting for it to cool down every two cars. Ive had the same twin compressor from arb for over 15 years, had one rebuild which cost 15 dollars and its been in 3 different vehicles, lets see how the ezflate is going in 15 years. Add a 10lt tank {which comes in the carry box ver} and you have 150 psi non stop. Ive never been in a situation where I need to be 1-3 min faster then everyone else in my group, Im usually chatting to them for 10m while were airing up anyway. Also for camping purposes where your spending a week or more out bush a 90 amp draw is allot to ask from a 100 amp battery your running a fridge from etc. Arb is 68amps at maximum load 12volts or 34amps at 24volts. I dont even need to start the car to run the ARB my lithium battery can run it for 3 hours and still have juice to run the fridge all night.

    How hot is the arb compared to the ez flate?
    If cost isn’t a concern and going after longevity/better duty cycles vs which will fill tires faster by a couple mins to me isn’t a concern more so which has the best warranty/customer service aswell plays a huge roll..

    You cant compare a top quality air compressor like the arb that is built in Australia to some chinese made rubbish just because its faster than arb....arb is quality built,water and dust proof and you can run you air lockers aswell...you can also hard mount it under the bonnet or car permanently so no need to carry it around...not to mention you can get a air tank if you wish with arb...this comparison is nonsense.

    • @crawllander
      @crawllander  หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Thank for your opinion, and you make some valid points.however not everyone wants to spend 600-1k on a compressor that can barely put out 1/2 the cfm. I have also seen more then one ARB break down and not be rebuildable so the person had to buy a new one so now into it 1500-2k, and that’s find if your made of money, then not to mention as you pointed out the ARB can be hard mounted under the bonnet, but now you have another several hundred dollars for the mount, and possibly several hundred dollars worth of labor to install it. you also mentioned you can add a tank to the ARB. This is also correct but again several hundred dollars for the tank and then several hundred dollars to install. It is absolutely quality product. However the Ezflate case and auto air systems are faster and a better value.

      that is correct, in the Mojave we have a front AB locker, im super worried ab out burning out the ARB then being without a locker in the front, would it be the end of the world probably not but I dont feel the need to put all the extra usage on the ARB

    It’s not all about speed. Where is this compressor made? 5 years from now will spare parts be available? What is customer service like. As someone who owns 3 arb compressors I can tell you that these are not issues with ARB. I have had years of flawless performance from my compressors. The ARB twin is a constant duty compressor and I have never had heating issues

    • @mrmotofy
      @mrmotofy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Many HAVE had problems with ARB. I believe the ARB say in some cases made in the US from Global components. Not much difference. There's other cheaper options though UDA EGOI Dual 6.1 CFM ARB clone $450 4YR Warranty
      ARB Twin Clone CKMTA12 $310 Amazon

    • @roberttaylor7451
      @roberttaylor7451 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn’t say ARB is the end all be all compressor. I have never heard of any being made anywhere but Australia, albeit from globally sourced materials. I own three and none have had the slightest issue with very hard use. The pistons use carbon fiber rings and they are apparently very durable. I didn’t picture carbon fiber being good in that case use but I am no engineer. I know there are other good compressors but if you are going to spend a decent amount of coin then I would find the answers to questions from my original comment. Rebuild kits are readily available for the whole line of ARB compressors and the company has been around for a long time. I own several of there products. I have a a bull bar, front air locker, and several of the smaller items they make and they have all done well

    I beat all those cheap china compressors every time with my arb twin. I’m able to mount mine for onboard air so while they’re puli g theirs out and setting up and detangling that mess of a hose I’m 3/4s done haha

      My wife has the twin ARB in her gladiator and when we compare i usually finish when she is on her last tire, the increased CFM on the EZ flate makes up the difference

    Listen to how quiet that arb is, though. That ez flate Chinese crap will probably bite it in a year. In the group I run with, we've blown up a morrflate two ssw versions and two smitty builts keep melting hoses off. One went arb and I went viair and we now air up like 8 people every time now

    • @crawllander
      @crawllander  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No one is questioning longevity we are only comparing speed at this point, Also the ARB is mounted in the van under a seat of course it’s going to be quieter on film when we are outside standing by the ez flate.

    • @flutini1
      @flutini1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We have a PT and, although it is super fast and easy to use, it ain't perfect by a long stretch.
      1 - it costs $$$ to fill and, unless you are willing to let a place send it off somewhere to be filled, you can't just take it to any place you want to have it filled, same day/on-site. If you want same day fill, there is a $15 - $20 surcharge.
      2 - Whenever you have it re-filled, they PURGE it first so, if you have only used half the tank and want to go on a trip with a full tank, you are throwing away a half tank's worth of CO2. In addition to that, they won't fill it 100% because they don't want to risk setting off the safety valve should the tank contents expand due to sitting in a hot vehicle. They only fill it to 9lbs but charge for 10lbs.
      3 - The obvious... you still have to carry around a compressor in case you don't have enough CO2 to fill up all the tires.
      Don't get me wrong, love our PT but, we also live in the real world.

    • @crawllander
      @crawllander  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      right, we have a PT as well, but to keep cost down we try not to use it unless really needed.

    • @jeffriley2502
      @jeffriley2502 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@flutini1 I'm not sure where your out and agree that nothing is perfect, I have found ways to work around some of your complaints. Where i get mine filled there is no surcharge for filling on the spot. I also have multiple tanks 15 lb. They always fill mine full and I've weighed to verify. With multiple tanks I can work around most issues. You are correct as I do keep a compressor as back up but haven't had to use it. Thanks for pointing out to those unaware of the concerning potentials.
