    Cheers Cam, just ordered a set using your code 👍 I've got a set of Stauns & the Indeflate, and love both. I hate using the indeflate to air down though, as you said, it is bulky, but is easier than the EZ Deflator on the knees. Inflating though, I love it. Love my Stauns, but did wish I could adjust. I wasn't sold on Campboss. Could be a personal thing with disliking A4A, and the price of those being so much more than the Stauns - and now these. I'll have one set to the beach, and one set to gravel & corrugations when I head up DHI & Quobba.

    I hear you Bro. I bought the Campboss and after too many failures (and buyers regret), hesitantly bought the iCheck ones for the same reason, I loved their TPMS so thought I would give them a go. Couldn't be happier. Great review and can concur with everything you said about these devices. Was curious about the other types of devices so happy to hear your thoughts on these. Cheers👍👍

    Good video, I got the campboss. First time I used them they let down to 16 when I had approx 18 set.
    So now I always set them about 20-22 and do the last few PSI via the dial gauge I use to check pressures
    Not overly impressed with them, but they are handy.
    I might check out these iCheck ones (at a cheaper price too)

      Cheers mate, I wouldn't have been too worried if they were only a couple of PSI off. But mine always randomly stop well short of set pressures! Havn't had any dramas like that with the iCheck, and yeah like you said, a better price point too!

    Used similar, stuck with the Indeflate 4 line setup. Never had any issus with keeping them tidy, but I put easy velcro style wrapovers on each section, was using reusable zip ties but lost a couple, been mint ever since. After going to a 4x4 truck now, I've gone to the Tyre spider, running an Endless air setup in the truck and the ability to set pressures and be able to switch off lines to the front and continue to inflate the rear, makes it a great setup for what I need. I mean at the end of the day, everybody has a different requirement, for me those two options were great with a bad back, super easy to use, hell, back in the day, a stick was good enough with a gauge to check lol

Now whether it's getting old (I've had it ten yrs plus) or the valves need replacing I'm not sure. But after watching your review, I think I'll have to seriously consider investing in a set of the i check deflators. Great review...

    Oh no! I've just bought another brand (Staun 4 pack) on special at the big snake camping store for about the same price you quoted. I graduated from a Kings Kwicky, one at a time deflator. The Stauns don't have the pressure settings on them. Straun says they're factory set to 18psi which is my go-to pressure for most sand work. I'll see how they go next time I get onto the beach.
    I may have to "re-gift" the Staun set.

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      See how you go with them. Like I said the stauns are a really good product too! If you’re not planning to adjust to different pressures on the go, just dial them in at home on the driveway and leave them set forever!

  • @clinty51
    @clinty51 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like this review Cam, I have the Staun's and I also have two sets, painstakingly set to two pressures that I still check with a gauge post deflation due to OCD. The Campboss set you had looked to be set above 20psi which might reflect your 23 psi reading, but as 1 failed to achieve target pressure the net result is less than favorable. I was about to mentally disagree with you about buying two sets of the iCheck until you mentioned towing and then it made complete sense. The price is similar as Staun's but the laser etching accuracy of the iChecks, seems to put them a level above

    Hi Cam, Great review and I hope your having a good time at the beach. I bought the iCheck deflators also but have not used them yet. I got them about a week ago. I do have a question for you. I see how to set the psi by matching the markings but since they are in increments of 5 psi how do you set them up if you want to say 12 psi or 28 psi?

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day Harry, thanks mate!
      Hope you're as happy with the iCheck deflators as I am.
      If I wanted 12psi, I'd set them roughly halfway between 10 - 15PSI.
      If you are OCD like me, then you can make minor adjustments to them from there to dial them in perfectly!

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had both, and both are really good units, you can't go wrong with either.
      (My discount code 'wild', actually works for Oricom.com.au too)
      My 2 cents;
      Both can no do 10 tyres off the one unit, are wireless (solar powered), easy to use and reliable. I like the screen on the Oricom - background is black so there's no reflection in full sun. But I run the iCheck because the offroad mode is really useful for me (you can preset the low pressure alarm to a lower value in the offroad mode so that the unit doesn't think you have a flat tyre are beep at you when you've deflated your tyres for unsealed tracks).

      @@WildTouring Thankyou for your reply. You have cleared up what I was having trouble finding details on (the Offroad part), I could see ICheck had the function but couldn’t see if Oricom had the same. I agree the Oricom screen does seem to look crisper. With the extra function now confirmed as only being in the ICheck, ICheck it will be. So with the indeflate you can swap out the valve on the bottom with a 1/4 bsp nitto fitting which eliminates that problem with the tyre chuck.
    Where an indeflate or any tyre spider (which they are easy to make yourself for about half the price of the maxtrax unit) is if your running a big compressor you eliminate the schrader valve restriction.
    But nothing beats an engine driven or PTO compressor and CTI, flick a switch and adjust pressures on the fly.

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I’ve seen people replace the tyre valve on the bottom of the indeflate with nitto fittings. Work better for inflation, but I guess you’d need an inline ball valve to control deflation- or it would just dump all your air out.
      Surprised maxtrax dont sell them like that in the first place.

    • @SUPERTRUCKER166
      @SUPERTRUCKER166 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WildTouring yeah I just put a ball valve then a male nitto, makes it faster to deflate as well vs using the sliding collar.

    Tyre valves are designed to be installed once or few times not 50+ so its only a matter of time before one strips the thread or the seal let's go. Just my thinking.

    How did you set them the iChecks for 16 mate? They only have it in 5psi increments (15, 20 etc.)?

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Locked them in just short of half way between 15 and 20.
      If you want them bang on, then you can make a minor adjustment to dial them right in after you see where they stop on the first use.

    Thanks for the review mate. They seem to work great. I have never tried the indeflate type of gear but I have never really rated it. I currently use the valve removal type and it works good. But these ones might be good to have around when I’m with the kids and trying to air down aswell.

    Never understood the maxtrax in deflate, by the time you set up all the hoses and hook it all up, I would have two tyres deflated with my arb valve deflator, too bulky, too complicated. Seems to me people are trying to justify the stupid price for them.

  • @krump743

    The maxtrax indeflate sucks. Using a clip on air chuck like what you put on ur tyres, in my experience with it doesnt seat at all like u also stated in ur video. Ive found u have to stand there and push and hold it on the valve just to get a seal. Its garbage.
    With those icheck deflators, i guess is an extra minute over the traditional deflator worth 70 bucks. Id also imagine driving in the bush, then hitting the beach, the icheck novelty would wear off if u have to re adjust all 4 for different terrains in one 4wding session. Looks like a decent product, but i think the traditional deflator is still the best option and has multiple "uses" on different terrains.
    I think the important thing here is that the indeflate by maxtrax is absolute garbage.

    Yep, that was another good review. Screw on tire deflators.
    I check tire deflator nice product acceptable price.
    That the China men product is not accurate No wonder, cost here a few dollars, in OZ an arm and a leg.
    Do your math… maximum margin.
    One question do they have 2 different color in one set, to distinguish when setted for front and rear different pressure settings.
    Thanks and cheers

      I don’t think the iCheck products are made in Australia. It’s an Australian company but I think they source their products from overseas (I could be wrong). The only deflators I am sure are made in Australia are the DFL8 which are made in Perth. I bought a set of DFL8 and they work really well but are much more expensive

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah as Stephen said, it’s an Australian company, but an imported product.
      Only come in red at the moment, as far as I’m aware anyway! But even when the locking nut is tightened at your desired setting, you can still see what pressure they’re set to.
