At the Freddie Tribute they came out and played paradise city and then this song Britt. Axl came back out and sang Bohemian Rhapsody with Elton John and Queen and that’s an amazing performance too!! This tribute had to make Freddie smile😊😊
I was 12 when this show was on. Watched it live on television in Belgium. Taped it on the VCR and watched it a million times. Now 31 years later GNR is still the bist band for me
You were right about the special FEEL of this concert. Context: This was the year after Freddie passed. HIV/AIDS was still a horrible thing that we still didn’t understand well, and had no cure. This concert was to benefit that cause. It brought out ALL the biggest names in rock & roll all onto the same stage, all to give tribute to Freddie. The remaining members of Queen would join these bands to play. The atmosphere was absolutely INCREDIBLE - full of mutual love and friendship and emotion. The energy was unparalleled. One of the greatest live music events EVER. The entire show was next level.
For a few short years GnR was as big as anyone who ever played. They would eventually implode and even when they got back together could never recapture those early years but boy they were magic for a while.
I was lucky to be at this show. I'd seen Queen live with Freddie 4 times from 1980-1984. This Freddie tribute concert in 1992 was so packed full of many of the best rock and pop artists of the day. It was a helluva wait to get into the venue (the old Wembley stadium), but well worth it.
GNR was absolutely amazing in their prime. I’m an 80’s -early 90s rocker kid and their music was pure raw, get your groove on music. Axl could sing! Beautiful thing. Amazing musicians during this time. They don’t do it the same anymore. 🔥
You should watch Axl and Elton John singing Bohemian Rhapsody. The way Axl enters the stage is epic. I also wouldn't be me if I didn't mention what is widely considered the best performance of that concert, George Michael did Somebody To Love and KILLED it. Slash? Girl, we gonna have to share him. That is one gorgeous man.
I think what you described as feeling at your first break was Axl's presence as a front man. When he is on his game, he can control a show similar to Freddie. The band is real good and Slash gives them quality depth, but Axl is what separated these guys from the rest. Both his voice and his stage presence.
This is one of my favorite live performances of this song ❤ The hat usually falls off when he is running around on stage. 😊 I love that Axl shouts out Tracy and Roberta at live shows.
I did also want to add guns and roses later performances did not have slash due too him and axl having a falling out so they did have someone else in his place
1992 was one of the greatest years of music in the history of humanity, across every single genre you can think of. What a magical time to be in your (my) formative years (i turned 13 that year)
One of the greatest, most vibbing live performances ever. There's a reason this performance was chosen to go on their "Live Era" album. It was absolutely glorious.
"Knockin' on Heaven's Door" is a song by singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, written for the soundtrack of the 1973 film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Guns N' Roses had a big hit with the song.
Genuinely loved your reaction, thank You! For me, everything during this performance was epic, Axl charisma, vocals and energy at its peak, Slash doing Slash shit, the 2 female back vocalists were amazing too and the audience singing along. Such good vibe, energy and fire, I'm so hyped every time I watch this performance!
Brit, I've been to shows that big before. You can't fathom the amount of energy that many people can create. IIRC, this was during their "Use Your Illusion" tour. GNR were known to be "problematic" during live shows. I happened to catch them with Metallica in '92 at RFK Stadium, first show of the tour. While GNR delayed taking the stage, when they did, they rocked the place. My friends and I all got "General Admission" tickets, which placed us on the field. I still have the t-shirts I bought that night. It was an insane show. Wasn't my first "mosh pit", but it was my first time "crowd surfing". I was in my mid 20s at the time. Man..... those were the days!!
The first notes with the first words of Axel Rose was "Only Women Bleed" from Alice Cooper (on the "Welcome to my Nightmare album from 1975). And Knockin on Heavens Door ist from Bob Dylan!
❤ NOBODY PUTS BABY IN A CORNER! I love it! You can call the guitar a two-headed whatever as far as I'm concerned! And yes, Slash is a 🦄 !!!! Love your comments! Keep being you! 😊❤
I just realized "mother I put my guns down, I can't shoot them anymore" and Freddie Mercury has the lyrics"mamaaa, I just killed a man, put a gun to his head, pulled the trigger now he's dead" ❤🇿🇦 sounds connected to me since it's a tribute to queen 🥂 tY BriTT
You can see Slash's face in November Rain,he does a solo outside a church in a wind storm, its amazing it the first n only time I got goosebumps from a guitar solo wild,n Axls pretty amazing in the video as well 🥵😋
Britt i loved your reaction, you are awesome. i love GnR's version the best, and my daughter when she was 2 yrs old was singing this song word for word, and this was her favorite song of all time. She didn't know the exact name of the song but she'd yell at my buddy Kenny in the car to put on Knock Knock Knockin, Kenny put on Knock Knock knockin, she'd drive him nuts till he put it on for her. She'd be sitting in the back seat between 2 250 watt subs singing her little heart out to this song. My buddy has since passed away and my daughter will be 33 in June this year, and this song brings back those memories so vividly
Since the Video of "November Rain", Tracy and Roberta, were the most powerful and a kind of sexiest background singers. By their vocals and their appearance on stage.
The first time I heard this song was 1974,Dad took us to the drive-in theater and we saw a movie with Kris Kristofferson and James Cobern called Pat Garrett and Billy the kid,Bob Dylan's version of this song was in it
GnR always bring all the vibes & all the feeling, on so many levels! Please react to more GnR :) Slash does not normally sing (it is not his thing), but if you watch enough of GnR's live performances, you will get to see the rare occasions when Slash does add a tiny bit of his own vocals. Axl has a huge vocal range (I hope you'll react to more GnR, so you can experience this), and an incredible stage presence (omg, I could go on! lol). Everyone in the band (throughout the years & all the line-ups, from many years ago, to today) is awesome in their own right. Oh, almost forgot, GnR do a lot of covers (which I love), and they also have their own material (I love it, too) 😍🤩 p.s. If you listen to the albums' versions of their songs, you'll get to hear a cleaner version. Their live performances can be at times raw, and messy, yet special all the same. Nowadays, their live shows are still a lot of fun, although not as raw, not angry & not as messy, but still a LOT of fun, because their vibes these days are happy (it was not happy, years ago), sober, and they enjoy working together :)
Usually I´m not commenting on videos, but in this case I have to say how nice it was watching yours. Excellent choice of song and performance aswell. And "Double Neck Guitar" is just perfectly fine 🙂
Call it whatever you like kiddo. It's a double neck, one is 12 string one is 6 string. But whatever feels right works. And yes...Slash is absolutely mythical creature. Had the pleasure of seeing him just go off for 3 hours straight on a couple epic occasions. I'm a guitarist and I was just awestruck watching him go off on his axes non stop , as I said for 3 plus hours straight every show I've been too.
Here for the algorithim. I can't listen to this song ever since my 18 year old cousin died years ago because it makes me cry. I was listening to a friend's band one night about a week after. They pkayed this song and I lost it. Ended up crying in the ladies room.
The first lines that he sings in this video, "He lies right at you/He's your life's mistake/All you really looking for is an even break" come from an Alice Cooper song called "Only Women Bleed" which you should really react to.
This song gets used all the time now in TV Shows' Season Finales when the writers put a character in a near-death situation and they want you to wonder whether that character/actor will be returning the next season. It usually plays during an overhead shot which pulls away and fades to white. It's now a cult classic if only for that.
Great reactions @BrittReacts! Love your analysis, great to see someone just discovering GNR, in my mind, them and Queen were the greatest rockbands of all time. Would love to see you react November Rain, and Don't Cry, both of them from the Live in Tokyo 1992 performances!
You are correct. It is a twin neck guitar. Top neck is a 12 string...and cleaner toned. When he goes for a distorted tone, the bottom 6 string neck is connected to the distortion effects. Slash is one of the best..for sure...
In the beginning they're doing a short (presumably impromptu) cover of Alice Cooper's Only Women Bleed, which is a song you should definitely give a listen if you havent heard it
those were the days. Love your reaction Videos!!! you are valuing the artist and the music in such a great and appreciative way and manner. If you wanna hear and see more of the SLASH watch the official music video SLASH did with Michael Jackson "give in to me". Slash's guitar adds a fire to the desire. it's hot, heavy, and a temptation you wouldn't want to miss. the best song to dance to when it gets late hot and steamy. ;)
Hey Confusion .. your reaction is funny .. in case no one filled you in .. they started this video with the song "Only Women Bleed" - originally by Alice Cooper ... then they rolled into "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" , by Bob Dylan .. both great tunes. 🔥🔥🔥🎼🔥🔥🔥
Slash is a unicorn, I know his hat, his hair, Ray Ban Aviators, guitar, boots, leather pants, Jacket even his nose ring. I have no idea what he looks like.
Good Morning Britt. I’ve always loved GnR’s version of this song, in fact I prefer it to Bob Dylan and, The Grateful Dead’s versions. This is the best performance of it I’ve seen. Thank you for reacting to it. ❤

Totally agree 👍👍
Have the day you gave us! mwah

Tracy and Roberta are legends among GN'R fans, they get their due
Indeed they are, they always have been fantastic.
That very short window of prime GN'R was the greatest of all time.
I was blessed enough to be their live, and from all the live performaces from this song Ive seen them do; this was one was truly celestial.

too bad he's only on his game or even bother to show up at all about 10% of the time :p
Totally agree about the voice. It's rich, unique and emotion-filled.

Slash ....born in London , raised in Stoke ...then moved to America and became a guitar God
"Slash is like this mythical, magical creature" is the most apt description ever.
A really great Guns 'n Roses performance is Rocket Queen Live in Tokyo '92
GNR was an Amazing Band to see live
GnR is still amazing band, Live. They still tour :)

Guns and roses 🌹 what a incredible group 🎉they were the biggest thing when they hit the scene

The vocalist's best friend are imperfections it makes their voice theirs, Loved the reaction
I agree 100%. Axl had created a very unique type of vocals, all of which is very much his own & awesome, at that :)
Awesome reaction! You HAVE to do Don't Cry - Guns N' Roses live in Tokyo 1992 (probably their best live show ever - all the songs from it are great)
Night train is also a really good one from that show
Axl Rose has a beautiful voice range ❣️❣️❣️💯
Watch any live performance whether with GNR or with other bands, the guitar is Slash's voice. He is so amazing! Love him!
You know a legend is being remembered when the biggest names in music ask to be part of say goodbye and thank you. RIP Freddie x

The energy you feel is everyone's reaction to the "Appetite For Destruction" album... which came out just before. Every song on that album was magic.

Usually I´m not commenting on videos, but in this case I have to say how nice it was watching yours. Excellent choice of song and performance aswell.
And "Double Neck Guitar" is just perfectly fine 🙂
The original Bob Dylan song was used in the 1973 movie Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, directed by Sam Peckinpah.
The song was written and recorded by Bob Dylan it is one of the most covered songs of all time
that is awesome!
I thought I was imaging things here. The opening part of this song is “Only Women Bleed” by Alice Cooper. Interesting transition.
There were so many great bands that played that tribute concert

written by Bob Dylan and was theme music for the movie" Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid"....
Definitely music for a nice long Sunday drive.
Omg, the dirty dancing reference killed me. Literally my favorite movie ever

Slash is like the Fonz as a rock star. Just oozes cool
Slash has another band that is called Slash & The Conspirators that features Myles Kennedy (who is also the singer for Alter Bridge).
Slash was real drunk
In this clip. He was drinking early at the pub.....Legendary...
The first lines that he sings in this video, "He lies right at you/He's your life's mistake/All you really looking for is an even break" come from an Alice Cooper song called "Only Women Bleed" which you should really react to.

On the brilliant 'Welcome to my Nightmare' album 👍
I've heard that a million times and never stopped to appreciate how awesome those lyrics are, epic👍
All i have to say is Britt is absolutely beautiful!
I saw Metallica and GnR at Foxboro stadium in 1992 great show..Faith No More opened
This song gets used all the time now in TV Shows' Season Finales when the writers put a character in a near-death situation and they want you to wonder whether that character/actor will be returning the next season. Bob Dylan acted in the movie Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid and performed this song in it
If you want to see more guitars, the Gibson TV youtube channel has a The Collection series with an episode on Slash.

You are correct. It is a twin neck guitar. Top neck is a 12 string...and cleaner toned. When he goes for a distorted tone, the bottom 6 string neck is connected to the distortion effects.
Slash is one of the best..for sure...
I was hoping Paradise City from this concert is what you were going to use for that video. Best live performance on video of that song.
The guns in the ground image comes, I think, from a western movie this song was associated with.
Pat Garrett and billy the kid
Ty britt for doing that one we love watching ur reactions
