My experience at bass pro in macon Georgia was awesome. Guy named hunter works there. Very acknowledgeable on bows. Was originally going for the bear adapt. I couldn't draw it back. So he recommended the diamond edge xt. Absolutely love the feel and look. Says there great bow and made by bow tech. Thanks for all you do. I never felt like i would fit in with the bow community, considering most my life i was a skateboarder and into collecting jordan shoes. But im officially done. And im glad im going this route. Bow hunting or just target shooting is for everyone that wants to do it. God bless you brother
I worked for a bow shop 15 years ago, and was able to get the Bowtech Destroyer 350 at dealer cost, before the actual launch of the bow. It has been my favorite bow and I still own 2 of them (upgraded them both recently to Barnsdale limbs). They shoot lights out!!!
I was buying some vanes a while back and noticed that on the barcode for a pack of blackout vanes, it said q2i. All blackout products are made by reputable manufacturers in the archery industry, I believe.
I work at Cabelas. Certain times of the year we get 60% discount on cabelas brands. Last year I bought a NV32. Yesterday I picked up the NV3 for $350😎. Blackout brand hasn’t let me down yet. Also a bow tech there for several years. Thanks for the great video!!!
Thanks for the timely review! I was researching this model because I wanted to try an Elite bow, but there are no Elite dealers near me and they won't ship. But you can buy this "Elite" bow with last year's trickle down technology at your local BPS or Cabela's or get free shipping to your home or free shipping to your local store. The positives are the 1/4" DL adjustability of the Elite Envision, 75-90% letoff adjustment (but not the micro adjustment of the Omnia), the possibility of ordering smooth mods (performance mods are standard) via an Elite dealer, stable 33" ATA, high quality adjustable cable roller guard, quality strings, what look like beefy 1/4" axles, and Tri-Track cable system for less cam lean. The negatives are deletion of the SET technology (so one must tune with arrow rest position, cable guide adjustment, or cam shimming which might be limited due to cable clearance which are on either side of each cam), very short limb bolts (thankfully visible threads remaining) with only 3 turns / 10 lbs range probably to maintain efficiency (long limb bolts are great for dropping DW way down, 70-55 lbs would have been nice, or when doing something major such as a limb swap with my trusty portable bow press), 60 lb DW max version not in stores, same vibration as the previous NV-32 model (one could try mounting a Limb Saver stabilizer head to the lower rear stabilizer mount or two stabilizer heads to either side of the lower quiver mount), and somewhat short 6" brace height (less forgiving?). In an ideal world one could order any brand/model bow and have it delivered to your home and still patronize a pro shop for set up and tuning. The archery pro shop only marketing model seems obsolete and backwards considering you can buy just about anything else online nowadays. P.S. I am a little suspicious of the BPS/Cabela's online reviews on this model, as all of the reviews are 5/5 glowing reviews, all the reviews came out on the same day the bow became available, not a single negative feature mentioned, there is a full 2 page promotional layout of this model in their catalog, and no subsequent reviews for 3 months. So your more balanced review is much appreciated.
Great video, just getting started in bow hunting and this video really helped me. Thanks for sharing, gave you a sub. Looking at this very bow tomorrow 10/12/2023 at Basspro, and spoke with a bow employee who has been hunting for over 40 years and has a wealth of knowledge. Has one set up with everything needed for 1200.00 Sights/Wrist strap/ and arrow rest/stabilizer. Seems pretty much a good deal.
Absolutely love your shop setup man!!! Bow hunters dream setup ha. You should give us a tour of it sometime?! Maybe a little story time on each of those mounts, etc.
Work at BPS in the Archery Department, have shot both the NV-32 and the NV-3. The NV-3 is a huge improvement on the NV-32. The NV-3 has optional cable and limb stops, adjustable draw length and holding weight, to really customize the feel of the draw, valley, the holding weight, and you can get the exact feel you want on the back wall. It’s also so much smoother to shoot than the NV-32, which has a very noticeable vibration. Both of them are made by Elite, but the NV-3 actually feels like you’re shooting a bow made by Elite.
The regular diameter.246 arrows are made by Gold tip and the small and micro diameter are made by victory. Some of the best bows at Cabela’s and Bass Pro are the Distinct and yeah the nv3.
Knowledge is what keeps you from being disappointed with the choices you make whether it be buying a bow, a gun, a truck or a car. Pretty much anything. Do your homework, then buy what you think will be the best for you and your budget.
Appreciate your videos, would you consider measing the reflex length, with modern bows its hard to approximate by shape....brace height is one thing, i can tolerare 6" brace height if the reflex is less than 1" for example instead of compounding each other.... And maybe category for long draw length guys.... Really enjoy your entire concept..thank you for your time and work
Just shot a nv-32 which is last year's. Draw and hold was night and day better vs my bowtech carbon icon. Definitely some feedback in the hand. Guy at Cabela's let me shoot it without buying it.
The blackout X series arrows are made by gold tip and the M/S series arrows are made by victory archery. The blackout rth packages are all made by bear while like you said the NV series bows are made by Elite. All the accessories on the RTH packages are made by trophy ridge.
Man...The Basspro shop closest to me, has these two older gentleman working in there that are great. One is a compound bow hunter the other is a crossbow hunter. Both very knowledgeable. I went in there about a month ago just looking for one more bow to add to my collection of compound bows. Quality that won't break the bank. They kept steering me to this bow. Literally. I told them let me do some research, because I knew nothing about it, or, it's line. Well life happens, had planned on going back this weekend, and then I see your review. LOL. Thanks for sharing. I'm getting this bow. Definitely have to think about 33 inches though...
@@BackyardBows Man, I am back...I dabbled around...dabbled around....and I just purchased this bow. Will pick it up tomorrow. I told him your channel had me interested and after weighing all of my options...I chose this one. It's on sale for $799 and I can detail it out for $961 with my veterab discount and a one day discount they were offering....I'm excited!!
I like the reviews you give.. I just picked up a Blackout Epic X2. Made by Bear your right with today's economy, the average Joe can not afford to drop 2000 on a bow.. but I feel that with a budget bow and the right upgrades, you can have a flagship quality bow for half the price..
I am currently shooting my old Mathews Drenalin. Still love the bow but I’m wanting to upgrade to a newer design. I’ve tried the newest Hoyt and Mathews line of bows. But man, that price tag is the only thing that’s keeping me from jumping on the Phase 4….I know you can’t really compare this bow to the Phase 4, but with that being said I might save a little bit of coin and buy this bow.
I’ve said it before todays budget bows out perform flagships from 5 years ago, I think there are so many well priced bows that perform great and this is one of them
That bow is pretty much an Elite Enkore with a more basic riser. It uses the same mod it's the same speed, same ATA and same brace height. The Enkore is still one of my favorite bows and I buy multiple flagships from different brands every year. This Blackout bow is right up my alley. Thanks for the review👍
i got a blackout intrigue ext. I shot it for a year and got a new one haha. i got a lower end bow to see if id even enjoy it. 550$ for the arrows and whole ready to hunt package. killed a deer with it 2 weeks later
The Bass Pro and Cabelas near me in Chicago sucks. They wouldn't even let me test shoot an NV32 or NV3, they don't do any firearm repair or bow repair. Couldn't even put a new set of strings and cables on my current bow. I'd lean towards supporting local small archery pro shops. It's stupid to buy a bow before even shooting it, if someone doesn't like how it feels then they're stuck with it.
I’ve got two buddies wanting to get into archery, I’ve been at it like a mad scientist for about 5 years now spending god only knows how much money.
