- Thought Id get some daytime action.Came across a GTR that was having fun but he wouldnt do anything after I pulled up and had the camera on. Ditched that and found 2 Mustangs.The black one seemed stock.The orange stang Ive seen locally and mods are unknown but his plate was just begging for me to see the hype.

The 2nd Mustang definitely accelerated and made an effort. Did pretty good till that turbo spooled up. I'm assuming turbo, definitely sounded like forced induction and looked like a boost gauge on the dash.

I used to do this when I was in my early 20s. From 1990-1994 I had a black 1984 TA 5.0 HO 5spd. with the 3:73 posi-track. The previous owner did something unknown that made it way faster than it should’ve been. I’m lucky I survived those years.
He put in an overcharger. These now come stock in most high end muscle cars.

Actually I only chased the gtr down but once I got up to him he didn't do anything. The mustangs were the ones who were taunting.. Hell.. The orange Mustang was on the other side of the highway and drove all sort of crazy to get upto me 6 lanes over. Then I played along. I just edited alot of the previous stuff out. I sell ford's for a living.. I know my car is faster than a Stang long ago. Beating them doesn't stroke my ego, beating the cocky driver does however regardless what he drives.

@@nonenone4461 clearly you’ve never owned or been inside of a 3rd gen enough to pay attention to how crusty and dried out the dash pads would get just a few years after they were new….I had an 88 TA in 01 and the pad was literally split from side to side. Anyways, salty ass, what do you drive? I don’t bash other people’s vehicles, especially when they’re upgrading like this dude, give him a break, he’s clearly under construction and semi retro-modding this beast. Personally, I like my stock ghetto vinyl dash in my 2016 Hellcat and 2019 SRT Durango, not sure what ghetto tinfoil you speak of.

I literally did this from Tennessee to Indiana with 2 mustangs. I was in my Camaro coming back from South Carolina, I made it back home pretty quick.
40 over the limit= stunt driving
Double the limit = stunt driving
Making a left turn on green light change before through traffic = stunt driving
Accelerating to quickly after green light change = stunt driving
Chirping tires= stunt driving.
Chasing another vehicle through lanes = stunt driving.
Be careful out there boys. Maybe take it to the track

You talking where the orange mustang pulls a head as buddy in the trans am is completely off the throttle .. watch the boost gauge🤦♂️ goes from negative vacuum (as hes not on the throttle and let's the stang go in front)to positive boost pressure and hes back all over the stang , can tell by the way it pulls this turbo trans am is for sure faster then a stock gt lol

Too many cars around to be messing around like that. I mean I’m no one to judge and I got a ride of my own, but my opinion I wouldn’t play like that in traffic. One there’s just too much traffic, where you going to go? Not to mention people get nervous and could run into you, cut you off, stomp their brakes, etc. sometimes there’s a cop hidden in the traffic that’s ready to pull you over. seen these things happen more than once. Just respect the other racers ride, show off a touch and call it a day, in the end it’s about being proud of what you got and flexing it a little. There’s nothing to win in a race like this, just a lot to lose.

I used to have a 89 GTA. I bought it when I was 19 and picked it up in Toronto so would have driven here to get back to Ottawa. The car was in miles so me and my buddy were just flying on the 401 until he said hey I think it's in mph! lol. My car was black on black leather L98 with magnaflow tips and muffler and some work done to the trans. I think it had gears too. The crazy thing is i'm 38 now and I saw it on kijiji 5 years ago exactly how I left it!. L98 is a strong ass motor. I miss all my f bodies.

Hi love your set up. What are the displays in tHe center and near the steering column?
It's changed over the yrs but I have the boost controller near the steering column and the tablet was for all other sensors for data logging

What set up do you have in it I have an 89
Back in my day, there were no rolling starts. We lined em up from a standing start on county roads. Had the prettiest girl to flag and had a few people at finish line. Distances varied from county to county. If you had a top end car, they would pick the shortest county road that they had. A definite slow working mind game if you fell for it. Definitely a different set of rules and a different vibe anymore. We built monsters!
Back in your day cars were geared to go 110-120ish mph. These days my moms daily driver goes 150+ lol.
Back in your day 400hp was heavily modified. Now cars easily come with that for under 30k, stock.

Always can add more power. Supercharge it or go turbo, nitrous. Anything is possible. Keep in mind that adding more power means adding many other supporting mods to be safe. Suspension, brakes, drivetrain etc. Congrats on the car.. Welcome to the money pit hobby and have fun safely.
Had a 98 with t tops,paid 4 grand for it in 2012,I was it's third owner and when I bought it it had 64k miles on the clock.

My dad had a trans am when i was a kid with a coverette shift kit in it. It could burn out EASILY in 2nd and even 3rd gear without even trying.

Boost makes one real difference and I’m sure the t/a was putting out some real hp at least 500-600hp with a lighter car then that mustang the ones that weren’t really racing or didn’t know until it was passing them? Lol 😂 but the t/a did have some serious pull to it not stock at all?

But its not too much lighter than a new mustang, maybe 500lbs difference (considering its not gutted or anything) but you're right, definitely more hp than the mustang. Idk Theres just something I enjoy about seeing the normal next gen bully mustang get gapped by its old uncle lol. You know it must suck as a new mustang owner to see that menacing front end of the third gen in your rearview keeping perfect pace lol

I tried racing an 85 Monte Carlo SS 454 with my 2011 Crown Vic Police Interceptor. I got up to 110mph and I think this guy was still in second gear. He blew my doors off and I was humbled by the power of older GM.
LOL don't get me wrong I'm a 4.6 guy myself but your out of your league if you try Rollin up on a 454 GM product. I've own a Chevelle with a 454 it was a monster
those late 70s to late 80s gm cars had hilariously tall highway gears. i think you could go all the way to a 2.41 gear. with 454 tq, no problem to go 150+mph.

@@John-jr1si it's got about 410 to the wheels and a bit more torque, im pretty happy with the power. I didn't go all out on the motor, but I'm refurbishing the whole car from the ground up. It goes plenty fast compared to what it used to do

I loved the video. I'm definitely a Pontiac fan. Never had a T/A but my first car was a '71 GTO that I built for racing and it was a blast. Unfortunately, that was a long time ago for me and I only get to live through video's like this now.

I been out running mustangs with my 350 rocket engine. It's not even running full strength. I could use a new carburetor. The car still runs strong even though the carburetor is off a little.
Love the video as dangerous as it is I love seeing the cars back down. So if I wanna do this i need a turbo or two
