The difference between the thinner neck profile and the regular neck is less than I piece of paper. I just got a k series 7 string which is my first build with the regular neck and you can't even tell it's any thinner. I just think it's their necks and build quality that make their guitars feel so amazing. I'm just like you man huge kiesel fan boy. And that finish is siiick. It looked like metallic tropic.
You really don't hear much about that finish. But I personally love that finish. I have a Delos in semi chrome aquaburst and it gets alot of complements.
I love the Fender style metallic paint finishes. Everyone's on a huge flamed/quilted maple kick atm...ime, I just want metallic paint - lake placid Blue, Candy Apple Red ...Pelham Blue, Goldtop gold.. Yeah so I feel ya Bro...and blue/green is my favourite colour, so..yeah, I approve! (and having your figured wood be the neck is a nice way to get both worlds...and to do it with taste. Some heavily figured , exotic wood guitars can be too much. It's like it's bashing you over the head with it, "yes, we get it! You're crushingly expensive!"
Tone to my ears between the two necks isn't too different. Both feel great though. I would say the maple feels a little smoother in the sense that the walnut neck you can feel everything in the wood. I love both, I'm really digging the one piece walnut right now. My next build will have walnut again. Cheers man!

I personally like a metallic gold top with natural back and sides for contrast.
