Great initial review. I’ve been using these DOM Gorilla cages for about a year. I’ve had great experiences with them. I had a day where it rained on me for 8 hours through the Green Swamp in FL and everything inside the bags stayed 100% dry. I leave the attachment plates zip tied to my suspension fork all the time and have no problem taking my bike to single track trails without the bags. I do find the bags to wobble a little on rough trails but they will not fall off and if the wobble bothers anyone, a voile strap around the fork leg and bag will solve that issue completely. All in all these are wonderful and I would also recommend them.
Cool set up. The Topeak versa cage is similar in that you can also take the cage off easily when you don’t need it or are flying. I’m curious, how many liters are those dry bags? Thanks!
I like the versatility these offer on easy on easy off bags but the problem I’ve run into with these all plastic parts is they break incredibly easy. When my bike fell over onto it’s side from parked along a wall the clips snapped and as a result the bags wouldn’t stay on, that’s one reason I’ve stayed with metal cages even though they are more hassle in removing for storage or transport of the bike.
Hi there, great review thanks... question... how has it held up so far? I’m off on 5 day trip in the mountains and it could be a bit rough, ok very rough😎 and I’m curious how durable they’ve been
the bags are really good been using now for years for sure get the bags.... look at the new video i done you see what i am using now get your bike ready for bikepacking
Damn, that's a smart piece of kit. So I've actually already ordered two of these Free Parable Gorilla clips & if I understood correctly, they have three conventional threaded bosses to attach (for example) the Salsa anything cage. The twist & clip mount & bag is an optional extra right?
yeah optional and yes you can attach the clip to salas any thing cage easy so ye mounts and you dont have to by there bag or monuts but there bags our much better
Hi. Could these cages be attached to pannier racks please. Not wanting traditional pannier bags These would be perfect if they could be run with horizontal bars on my pannier racks Cheers
for this setup yes .. but after more testing, I am using the bags only with salsa cage and www.baryak.com/new-products/baryak-mule-double-mule-with-install-kit
i can't wait for a deep review of those bags. this is what i've been looking for on my fat bike. i've not been a fan of the anything cages. heres to hoping i win!
