    Lucas' post-release tinkering with star wars began as soon as ONE MONTH after its release. A mono sound mix was constructed for theaters that only had one speaker (mainly drive-ins), and some things were changed.
    -Aunt Beru's lines are re-recorded, seemingly in higher quality.
    -Some missing lines are added back in, like c3po's explenation of the tractor beam, and a stormtrooper's "close the blast doors!"
    -Luke says "blast it wedge where are you" instead of "blast it biggs where are you"
    -various subtle effects are removed or added

    To add to the Empire Strikes Back misquote, in the official Marvel comics adaptation of the Empire Strikes Back (ending in Star Wars (1977) issue #44) which was released around the time of the movie, Darth Vader DOES say the line "No, Luke, I am your Father".

    There's a deleted scene from the 80s movie Heathers, that's never been released. The only proof of it is the shooting script, and a shot from the scene that was found on the back of a VHS cover of the movie. Basically, the other girls follow Veronica into the locker room showers fully clothed. In the singular picture we have of the scene, you can see Veronica and Heather McNamara in their soaked clothes on the steps of the school. I never see anyone else talk about this, at least not in the lost media community.

    "how did the trex get in the building?" easy. When we first see the visiters center, we see construction workers working on it, meaning its still under construction. In a shot in the rex vs raptors scene, we can see that there is a section of wall that hasn't been finished yet, it has scaffolding and tarps around it. The trex simply walked in though an unfinished wall

    I have loved deleted scenes for as long as I can remember. I think my very first encounter was when I had some Batman 1989 trading cards that came with candy sticks and they had a few scenes that didn't appear. I then began to encounter photos in movie books such as Ghostbusters II and Star Wars that also were omitted from their final cuts.
    Deleted scenes I think give an old film such a new lease of life. I enjoy knowing what was filmed but ultimately get cut for time, budget or consistency restraints.
    I think my most researched interest in deleted scenes was Bruce Lee's Game of Death from 1972, but was completed after his death in 1978. He filmed the final fights but died before he could finish the filming after his unexpected offer to do Enter The Dragon. In 2001, it was revealed that nearly all the footage was found in the vaults by Bey Logan but the majority of the content was outtakes, some are still being discovered to this day.
    I've always loved the 1976 King Kong and I wish the extended TV version would be released worldwide in better condition.
    There are still a lot of deleted scenes from films I wish got released in their entirety. Some include Batman Forever, Death Becomes Her, Ghostbusters II, Big, Return to Oz and especially Superman IV.
    Thank you for this compilation.

    It's rather a shame that the butterfly photo for Edward Scissorhands wasn't actually a scene. I don't recall that image from back in the day, so maybe it was a UK thing. The one I remember was him looking in one of the blades at his own face. It says the Director of Batman and Beetlejuice invites you to meet his newest creation. Honestly since Beetlejuice as terrifying and Batman was dark, I'd no ider what to expect of the movie. Fortunately like Batman, it was good.

    ok, regarding the jurassic park thing, there is the JP game from sega genesis in wich to kill the last raptors in the visitor centre you have to throw a granade on the T-rex skeleton to make it fall on the raptors, also in the power plant level THERE IS a part in whitch the head of the T-rex comes bursting throug a wall, so since the first example i made is present in the game despite being a deleted concept, maybe that is true for the second example too, or maybe people are confusing the scene from the game and misremembering that being in the movie

    Everybody talks about T Rex getting into the building, yet no one explains how the pen suddenly has a giant chasm.

    • @berserkasaurusrex4233
      @berserkasaurusrex4233 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the opposite pen, not the Rex pen. The road the vehicles are running on is the top of the concrete wall between the two paddocks. The confusion is because we never see a clear overall view of the area, and having the whole scene happen at night within a spinning car gets everything a bit hard to follow spatially. The storyboarding for the scene lays out the area much better. They probably needed to add a line or two about if they look out the other side of the car they'll see down into the Brachiosaurus paddock, before drawing attention to the T-Rex side and the goat.

    The “theater bootleg” of Jurassic Park is fake here. If I recall correctly, the original theatrical release has different music in the scene. Just listen to the soundtrack’s song, “T-Rex Rescue & Finale.” The musical cue in the current version of Jurassic Park where the Rex picks up the raptor cannot be found, but instead, a more frightening bit plays. (If you want to know, part of “Welcome to Jurassic Park” is the song that plays in the current version.) Though I’ve said this, I still don’t believe the shot was there at all. (I also could be wrong that it was changed for home media, or was just changed before its theatrical release.)

  • @kelvington4182

    So here is the thing on the Vader moment. It's often called a Mandela Effect, but it's not. It was ALWAYS... "No I am your father". That said, Jones recorded the line about ten different ways, and many different versions on the day. He recorded EVERY line in all three films, a number of different ways, and Lucas (or the director) would decide which version to use.
    The "Luke I am your father" DOES exist, and was used by Hallmark of all people, in the 2005 Vader Christmas Ornament. You can hear that version here - th-cam.com/video/ifyNqTtiVLM/w-d-xo.html (jump to the 4:17 if the link fails to take you there) It's as clear as day, and it's not edited, for the ornament, they chose to use an alternate line reading. Confusing yes, lost... not so much!
    For the record. Prowse did NOT say that line about Obi-wan on the day. He said, "1...2...3...4...5" but because Hamill KNEW what the character was going to say, he reacted accordingly. Plus the image of Vader sans cape and tabard with Kersh is NOT Prowse but Bob Anderson the stunt double who was MUCH shorter than Prowse who stood 6'6" (with the helmet/mask on, nearly 7') Kersh was 6'2" and was taller than Anderson.

I grow up in Torrance Ca in the Mid 1970s my father used to take us to Century City to movies and have dinner or lunch I grew up running around in the century city where they filmed it what beautiful memories and experience to know that I was there running a cross that same bridge.

    Conquest has always been a favorite of mine. I honestly don’t know why the studio felt to market this to kids. I mean the whole series while being scifi (a genre with some younger fans) it’s far from Flash Gordon. All the movies are pretty dang bleak and conquest is no different, by giving it a somewhat uplifting ending the movie betrays what it is and the series as a whole.
    Even then the ending they went with was sorta wishy washy. This hopeful speech and then a pan out to a celebration as a city (civilization) burns.
    Personally I prefer the original ending. That ceaser wants to free his people but in the end realizes that revolution is never a pretty or tidy thing. That it is messy and often has unintended consequences. That while he had more lofty and noble intentions that all he did was keep the timeline on its path that will lead to the original film.

    • @SniffHeinkel
      @SniffHeinkel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@trompentertainment5927 I don't know where you obtained your information, but it's inaccurate. Two years before Empire Strikes Back was released, David Prowse gave a guest lecture at an early Star Wars convention. In his speech, he revealed that Luke was the son of Darth Vader. According to Prowse, Lucas was upset with him because he had informed him that he felt like he should have received more compensation and praise for his performance as Vader. According to him, he did not reveal the ending to the movie. There is, however, a newspaper article about David's visit to the con in which he revealed the twist ending. Lucas forbade him from attending Star Wars events as a result.

    • @davidjames579
      @davidjames579 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@SniffHeinkel Actually, Lucas never told Prowse that Vader was Luke's father. In particular because at the time of that convention, Lucas had not come up with that plot twist. Certainly during the filming of A New Hope Luke's father was a brave Jedi who died at Vader's hand and Leia wasn't Luke's sister but the love interest (to form a dramatic triangle with Han). It appears Prowse guessed that Vader was really Luke's Dad. This comes from him being a friendly guy who couldn't help but tell everything he knew to whoever asked. Basically he loved the response, and when he didn't know something he invented it. As was the case with his appearance at that convention. His revelation may well have got back to Lucas and in fact put him on the train of thought of making Luke, Vader and Leia related. Whatever it was, Lucas didn't like Prowse saying so much, and by inventing story points, maybe inadvertently ruing things Lucas wanted to do.

    Having been researching The Black Cauldron for years, it was always weird to me that the alledged scenes of gratuitous nudity and violence were seamlessly cut out of the film, I myself believed in these rumours and studied and conjecturated whatever concept art or scene listing I could find online, until I've gotten a full copy of the film's Storyboard myself (sadly I couldn't make a video on them in time, maybe in the near future.)
    Basicaly it was something that was born on forums and early Wikipedia entries, someone said that in the actual film you can see a "spurt of blood coming from a wound inflicted by Taran's sword", with other deleted scenes being the famous melting man scene, a shot describing a guard getting his throat slit in that same sequence, as well as gratuitous nudity shots of the film's underage female protagonist (???????????) either supposed to be taking place during the Palace escape or the end of the film even though there was never any indication that was the case in the final film.
    Sad to rain on people's parade, but The Black Cauldron's uncut version has absolutely no gratuitous violence or nudity scenes besides the one shot of the guard dissolving in the mist. There might be a couple more violent shots since the storyboards don't match the sequence 1:1, but it is surprisingly (or rather bizarrely) how they suddenly upped the gore for those few seconds in the film, out of the blue. Any other extended or missing scenes are purely extra dialog or antics.

    There are a couple of scenes in Alien that expand on Ripley's suspicion about Ash. We already have the scene in the movie where Ripley is talking to Dallas about Ash and he states he'd flown with the same science officer repeatedly then on this voyage, then just before departure, he was suddenly replaced with Ash. In a deleted scene Ripley approaches Lambert and asks her if she'd slept with Ash. Lambert seems a little taken aback and says she hadn't because 'He just didn't seem interested' (the liberal sexual attitudes onboard the Nostromo are also alluded to in a scene in the galley where everyone is sat around the table and Parker is talking about the noodles being the only thing worth eating... then pauses and looks at Lambert and says something along the lines of 'Well, almost the only thing worth eating...' and Lambert coquettishly laughs and looks away.) This shows Ripley suspects Ash of not being what he seems.
    There is apparently also an extended scene where Parker re-activates Ash's head and Ash alludes to the Alien not being 'Alien' but a weapon that's escaped from a Weyland Yutani lab.
    Also Parker suffered a more protracted death - like the rest of the cast Yaphet Kotto ad-libbed and would bounce ideas around while on set. But footage exists of Parker putting up a fight against the Alien.

      For Alien I know there's a missing scene that explains why, when Ripley first confronts Mother, with Ash sneaking in, then the very next scene, Ripley has a bloodied nose - apparently Ash attacks her but it was cut out for theatrical release. Much like the scene of when Ripley finds Dallas still alive.

    • @efnissien

      @@bghoody5665 There was a 'special edition' of Alien released around the time of Alien3, that had the airlock scene, a scene where Ripley and the other survivors (up to the airlock scene Lambert, Parker and Ripley) confront Ash about sounding the alarm. And the Ripley / Lambert scene I mentioned above. But I've heard that there were further scenes that were available, but due to issues with John Hurt & Ian Holm, they couldn't be shown. (I believe one of these scenes to be the extended 'wake up' scene where the crew of the Nostromo are waking up from cryosleep and filter to the galley Kane being the first and switching stuff on as he enters the galley- which I've seen a couple of years back. The other is the Ash revealing the Alien isn't an 'alien' but a Weyland Yutani bioweapon that has gone feral.)

      Some of them weren’t on the Quadrilogy box set. Interestingly the various documentaries have a huge number of deleted shots playing whilst the interviews are on that aren’t captured anywhere else. I remember someone talking about the 3.5 hour assembly cut saying it was great but just went on and on and on.
      Same goes for Blade Runner. 45 minutes of deleted scenes but an absolute tonne of other scenes played in the documentary I’ve never seen anywhere else. The book Future Noir categorically stated there could not be a 3 hour cut…….which is plainly not true

Scott says "Wait? What?" Louis then responds with "This due is looking for you bro. He works with the Avengers." But when Ant Man got released on digital and DVD that cene was not included and instead simply skipped to Scott saying "Oh no." In response to that small part at the end of the film. It's true. It's claimed that this scene wasn't actually shot, but there are photos that seem to suggest that it was, with Elliot being taken to the principle's office, (Ford's role) not paying attention to him and writing some kind of code on the office walls. Basically another scene that establishes his connection to E.T. and what he's feeling in that moment. The other is Sigourney Weaver's nude scene in Alien 3, which has apparently never seen the light of day on any home video release. It happens during and after Ripley decides to have sex with Doctor Clemens.

    I remember one going around for quite a while, in the film "Cant buy me love", the character "Patty" (Darcy DeMoss) was in a scene where she was seducing "Ronald" (Patrick Dempsey) in his dads car. I saw that film on HBO in the 80's like 50 times and I swear she opened her shirt to her bare chest. The conversation came up on some forum and more than half the comments were "yeah for sure she did" however there is no cut in existence that shows that. I was thoroughly confused because, as a young boy thats not something one would forget, yet no version exists. They either cut the shot (maybe she had second thoughts) or it was a fabrication of the "yearning mind".. But to this day I still dont understand how so many people could have been wrong about that.
