    That is really quite the well thought out lock. Not the kind of lock you can just rake open in a quick minute. We do not see a lot of these locks at low prices. Great job of picking that one sir!

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Oh yes, it's definitely a well designed lock, and the prices match. It took me a great deal of time to start opening these with regularity. I picked his one up for $35 on ebay and felt like I got an absolute steal!

      @@lockpickinglawyer lpl could you do a video on grades of lock hardware i think meny people dont understand these multi lock and others come with exponentially better hardware to go with the increased pick resistance. Ie long throw ball deadbolt with the ball bearings anti drill protection stronger bodies ect.

    a great job once again, I was just thinking about some of your first video's only some 18 months or so ago. you've come along way since then not only with your pick fu, but video quality, sound, and narrative presentation. it's awesome to see, thanks. So just keep on picking on.

      Thanks very much. The learning curve has been steep (on both picking and videos), and I still cringe a bit watching the older videos... but it's also nice to see the improvement. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

    really great video, I especially enjoyed when you zoomed in on all the internals. MTLs have such great machining tolerances. You're really knocking these MTL's out model by model.

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks... I'm running out of MTL's to pick. Just the Cliq left, and unless they seriously botched up the mechanical implementation, that's beyond someone like me without electronics skills.

    Absolutely brilliant pick,
    I loved seeing you have to run through a few times before it gives.

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. This is a lock that is pretty much impossible to open in less than 4 trips through the pin stack... usually many more (and that doesn't count the sliders and alpha spring)!

    I remeber back when you had less than 100,000 subs. I love the fact that even back then you ahd the same great video/audio quality accompanied by clear and concise explanations. I never would have guessed over 1.7 MILLION people would be interested in eneoph in lockpicking to subscribe.

      @lockpickinglawyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Thanks... I think anyone could do it with enough practice. It's not as bad as some people think. My personal theory is that there are so many parts that it's overwhelming... but an well thought out and organized plan of attack helps make it seem manageable.

    Hi Harry, Impressive once again, it's a great feeling to pick a lock that you know is tough to pick - but possible. The boffins at Assa Abloy would be secretly admiring your skills ... away for a week. Regards, Brian.

    Amazing picking, LPL! Truly masterful picking! I actually just ordered a set of those spooxe picks with plans of getting more serious about dimple locks.

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I'm sure you will be tearing through these locks in no time! All it takes is some knowledge of the locks and willingness to dedicate the time, both of which you have (along with a fair bit of skill). Good luck!

    Looks like an excellent lock to keep you of all people that long at it.
    Considering how pro and confident the guy on the vid vouching for it sounded I thought you'd pick it with a coffee stir/coctail straw and air pressure...
    IMO one good cheap set of improvements:
    For "Secure" location expecting lock bypass theft, like where the money is at the business.
    Put a cheap looking plywood veneer over the steel door.
    Remove the MultiLock branding.
    Put "Master" branding over the lock.
    Make sure alarm but silent with hidden vid recording. Maybe seperate from 'security' room like simple Amazon china gopro knock off set to record on motion.
    Thief (likely dishonest employee) cases the joint, sees "master" sees cheap plywood, wants to look good. Brings his whole criminal 'gang' be they the local mob or his group of drinking/meth friends. He tries for 15 seconds - whoops 10 minutes to pick it with a simple tension + rake - but this is one of the few locks that won't work on. So he freaks out out of embarrassment and starts kicking the door harder and harder but is only making noise. By then Da Fuzz just might show up, them all on tape after hours watching him try to pick the lock.

      @spdcrzy 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's always my first thought with high-quality locks like MTL or Abloy. Even better: get two deadbolts on the front - one of them be an Abloy lockable thumbturn deadbolt and the other be an MT5+ Hercular. Remove the badging entirely and get them both in normal brass color so they don't look too crazy. The guy who originally built our house put in a normal mortise lock, normal waist-height deadbolt, AND a security deadbolt at the bottom of every exterior door, not to mention a tension chain attached to a silent alarm. Amazing system that's only required rekeying to upgraded security over the years - it's exactly what I would do. The bottom deadbolt is awesome because in the dark it would be one MORE thing for a thief to take care of, and much harder to get at as well - but the only time it needs to be activated is when either everybody is asleep, or the entire family is gone for a prolonged period of time.

    Unbelievable! Thank you for the video! I wanted to put this model into the door, but now changed my mind. I ask professional advice. Which model of the door lock and which company would you recommend as the most secure? Thank you!

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I would still recommend this lock. It is VERY secure. That said, for a slightly better product, the EVVA MCS and the Abloy Protec are a step above IMO.

    Incredible picking! Giving your experience with fancy locks, What brand of lock or deadbolt would you recommend someone to get, for a house that has been previously broken in too, and had people trying to pick the door while my girlfriend was sleeping. I know the prices goes up pretty fast with quality deadbolts, so of course I could go all out with abloy or mul t lock MT5+ hercular, but is there anything cheaper that you would really trust and recommend?

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks... MT5+ hercular is one of my favorites. Be certain to sure up your door and doorframe as well. Those are the more likely vulnerabilities.

    LPL, your kick ass on the MTL's.. But I know of a paticular ASSA twin that you haven't got picked.... Yet.

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL. These videos are a fraction of my picking time... the real work goes on behind the scenes, and I am working on the twins. When I start having confidence in my ability to pick them, there will be a flurry of videos... but until then, I hone my skills behind the scenes.

    I have no Idea how sensitive are your fingers!!! But I have some stupid question. I have tried disassembly MT5 and of course I have lost those tiny springs from the sliders lock bar. Can you tell me a size of those springs or where to buy it. You will help me a lot. Thanks!!

  • @figifister
    @figifister 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question for you. Do you think the advertisement on the front that says Multlock is a good or bad thing to advertise to thieves? I'm thinking it's bad because it gives someone the opportunity to study how to open it and come back with a game plan. If its blank they have no idea what they are dealing with. I would like to hear your thoughts.

    what kind of tension have you got? looks heavy

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tension was pretty stout overall, but I eased up in certain places as appropriate. For instance, I started with heavy tension on the sliders and slowly eased up until I got movement. Same on most of the inner pins.

      I have a new mt5 on its way from eBay so can't wait to give it a go next then hopefully the + 😆

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mup I said I wouldn't spend too much $$ on the MT5's if the MT5+ is your goal. Just buy the MT5+ and pull the sidebar until you are used to the MT5 pins, then put the sidebar back in. That's what I did. ;-)
