    The US army, with nearly 1.5 million soldiers and a $700 billion budget, is the world’s most powerful military, active on all continents and responding to domestic emergencies. However, its size doesn't always ensure success, as seen in Vietnam and Afghanistan.
    Special forces soldiers are regarded as legends, and the Best Ranger Competition tests the top candidates over three challenging days, featuring Joshua and Ryan.
    Eighteen-year-olds Owen and Carter are drawn to military recruitment for free healthcare and scholarships, especially amid rising health insurance and college costs.
    At Missouri's Military Academy, students follow a strict routine, with parents investing $34,000 annually for future opportunities.
    Former Navy Seal Eli Crane runs a successful business crafting bullet bottle openers, attracting high-profile clients. Yet, many veterans feel abandoned, with around 6,000 suicides annually and others, like Zook and Hog, grappling with PTSD.

      Yet the Army has accomplished much more than the Marine Corps!
      The Army has fought and won against the worst aggressors in history. While the Marine Corps was largely engaged in island hopping in the Pacific, the Army fought and won against multiple enemies in multiple theaters. The Army fought in North Africa, Italy, Western Europe, the Aleutian Islands, and after finishing up their own theater in the Pacific (New Guinea, the Philippines) they finished up the Navy/Marine Corps' theater for them. Of the 250,000 Japanese troops in Luzon, 80 percent died. The Army was also involved in most of the islands that the Marine Corps was involved in.
      The Marine Corps stood up three more divisions and still could not take Japan on its own. Not only did the Marine Corps absolutely need the Army, but the Army also finished business for them. Over 20 Army divisions to the Marine Corps' six. The Army led the final push to take Okinawa and mainland Japan. Four army divisions to two Marine Corps Divisions plus a regiment. The United States Army had more impact in the history of mankind than any other military. The Army had to wait on Marine Corps to take Baghdad for the second war in Iraq.
      Not to mention the Army has more amphibious landings historically overall than the Marine Corps. The Army had amphibious landings all the way back to the continental Army.
      These are historical facts. Look everything up. By the way, the Germans never called the Marine Corps "Teufel Hunden", that was made up. It is even stated in the Marine Corps Times.

    Up to 800$ a month for Healthcare?! That’s shocking!
    If the US creates a fund where everybody pays an surten amount then monthly costs will drop drastically. In a country like the Netherlands, Europe, people pay around 140 Euro’s a month and have a deductible or ‘at your own risk’ threshold of 350€ which you have spent first before you are totally covered. Thus you pay up to 350€ for say medication. Above 350 it will be payed by the insurance.
    Fun fact is that you can increase the ‘at own risk’ with 500€. Total will be 850. But if never sick or not using health care that’s okay. Monthly you pay even less then 140€.

    • @skillz7119
      @skillz7119 26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      NO NO....not $800/month for healthcare....$800/month is only for the health insurance, any actual healthcare costs MUCH more. If you dont have the insurance god help you if you need medical care of any kind, the hospital is basically allowed to just make up a number and put you in crippling debt. Hospitals have no legal obligation to publish the actual costs of any service in advance. Its not uncommon for a simple ER visit to cost over $10,000...WITH INSURANCE. Its an obscene scam. No civilized country should have a system like this. Best part is... dental care and eye care are a totally separate standalone systems not covered by the regular health insurance. Most Family plans run ~$2000/month for just insurance, before any service is rendered.

    • @MacCosmic
      @MacCosmic 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you mean "fled" was they got "tired" of fighting for the goat herders who's government/military couldn't or wouldn't fight for themselves?
      Note: Apologies to those in the east who did AND FOUGHT for change. We know your out there and you should have been brought with the exiting troops.
      The US finally realized the solution was to turn it all into a parking lot, which they morally didn't want to do. It surely wasn't because the goat herders were a threat, just a money pit.
      It's like a crack head who's family keeps on giving them crack but it's hard to tell if it's the parents, siblings or the uncles, aunts or cousins supplying the drug.
      No outside help will ever help the crackhead unless you lock them all up.
      I always wondered why they left equipment?
      Was it because they wanted their exit date to be a surprise, so the goat herders had the best chance at taking over the bases as they where suppose to?
      Was it left behind because the goat herders where meant to use it or was it left behind because they didn't want it back or it cost more to transport it back then it was worth?

      A small portion of the U.S. army was in Afghanistan, compared to what the entirety of the U.S. military actually consists of. Even so, that small portion toppled the Talibans within the first six months of contact and installed a new Afghani government that ran the country for the next 20 years. One party fled across the border to hide safely in Pakistan to lick its wounds, while the other party remained in Afghanistan to run the country. I think you've got the two mixed up. However, the internal corruption among the Afghani leaders made it impossible to sustain the democratic project, and after two decades of throwing endless money at a problem the Afghani people seemed mildly interested in fixing themselves, the U.S. reduced the operation and subsequently pulled its troops back home. Wars can be won by firepower alone, replacing the culture and an archaic mindset obviously takes something else.
      Anyway, using your juvenile logic, the U.S. military could alternatively have just used its entire might to simply flatten Afghanistan and gone home, but since they had something else in mind than to perform an outright genocide, here we are. Or maybe you would like to propose that the U.S. should have gone harder on the Afghanistan people, perhaps by carpet bombing every village instead of just busting down doors looking for insurgents? There's no resistance if no one's left to challenge you, right? And with that in mind, I think you should naturally come to realize that the $800 billions a year American military would have no problem winning a war against any group of "goat herders" if the preferred fix to the problem was outright genocide and indiscriminate killings.
      Thankfully, reality is a bit more complex than a high-school kid's take on geopolitics.

      @randomcomment1105 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@Robert-zr3xw I have already answered all your questions in my previous comment. You're the one making unsubstantiated claims and using false dichotomy.
      Your original comment was not about what someone could have done instead of what someone did, your chuckling point was that the U.S. military is weak and can not win wars. Now you're just trying to backtrack on your poor choice of words by admitting that it wasn't actually the military that was at fault, it was (as I've already stated) the host country that wasn't up for the task of restructuring its society to keep the militants down. The U.S. military supplied Afghanistan with enough brute force to break the Taliban, and did so successfully, but since the U.S. didn't go to Afghanistan to make it an American colony, they relied on the local population to pull their weight to keep things going.
      A lot of bad choices, and a lot of misguided partnerships, were made, but the fact remains that in pure military strength, the U.S. did what it set out to do, using only a portion of it's available power, and could have done a lot more if there were no limitations on the amount of force applied. Which invalidates your point about the U.S. military being, I guess, weak? If the Taliban had acted like a military instead of dressing up in civilian clothes, hiding among the population and doing cross-border raids and pure terrorism, maybe your point would have stacked up better. The U.S. army defeated the Taliban army, the goat herders you speak of, but the Taliban lived on as an asymmetrical insurgency. The Americans couldn't kill the idea, and they couldn't hunt them down inside Pakistan either. Except for that one guy, but he was a special project.
      If you don't believe, as your original comment implied, that the U.S. is the world's strongest military, then tell me a modern-day military that could beat it? To me it sounds like you're either saying that the Taliban rebels defeated the U.S., or you're saying that the Taliban did in fact not beat the U.S., but waited for the U.S. military to pack up their things and subsequently leave so that they could have a field day with the incompetent Afghanistan army left behind. Which one is it? I don't see the U.S. military being dismantled or defeated, they're still going strong all over the world, so even though the Afghanistan war was a colossal failure in the long run, the U.S. army still did what it set out to do and then left when it was no longer a viable option to stay.
      The U.S. military remain undefeated, as no one has so far managed to dismantle it. Much like the Taliban, by sort-of using the same simplified logic.

      Pakistan, Ocean Shield, Libya Three times, Uganda, Iraq intervention, Iraq war, Haiti, Gulf War, Panama, Tanker war, Grenada... That's since I've been alive. If you're thinking about Vietnam or Afghanistan, that wasn't the militaries fault, that was the country tired of wasting money on other peoples problems. No major battles were ever lost, in both wars. Vietnam they had a +20:1 kill ratio. Took over Afghanistan and Iraq, simultaneously. All from the other side of the planet... We only failed in rebuilding Afghanistan, not fighting them LOL
