yeah, it seems like a small thing but is a huge differentiator. i literally use my ipad again because of the pencil - i think windows could be made good because of the stylus integration on surface and the note is my fav phone because of it. it is the best way, IMO, of interacting with a screen

It's pretty easy actually. He writes one script and reads the whole thing at each location, then cuts in various sections of monologue during final editing to "appear" that it was done seamlessly over many different locations. He's done it well, I agree.

I was just thinking the same thing. If I could get a ipad pro to handle final cut pro the same as my macbook pro could, I'd make the swap.
Photo editing, video editing, DAW, all of those work better with a stylus. (Btw, if you want a good DAW on the note 8 then get Soundcamp, it's basically like fl studio mobile but free and has much lower latency due to use of samsung's pro audio SDKs)

Smartphones are giving laptops a run for their money.
I disagree, screen sizes are why most people do and will always prefer working on a computer of any sort. Laptops and phones were meant for different things and phones will never try and take that part of the market. Of course, they are better for being on the go and whatnot if that's what you meant, but that's not what computers were meant for in the first place anyway.
You can connect the Note 8 to a monitor via a dock and run programs just like a normal computer. It's just software as of now that's preventing phones from replacing laptops as we know them. But yeah, I myself wouldn't want to edit an excel sheet on a phone on an airplane, but being able to dock just your phone to a workstation once you're home and carry all that work with you is definitely the future!
Usually not a fan of extra little parts that can get lost, but I'm liking the stylus. I think your cool handwritten graphics swayed me.

Samsung has a "find my stylus" thing so you can't lose it.
You get notified when your phone reacher a certain distance away from the stylus and you also get info about the last time you removed the pen and where so yeah if lose one you should be ashamed

Your vlogs are like good books you read on rare occasion. Your style and mood omits onto your vlogs, which makes them extraordinarily custom and original- your type of work is hard to find on the TH-cam platform. I totally get the feeling and/or message you try to put out in all your videos. You are truly one of a handful who actually try to put together a story when you document your day; love your channel!
I really have to agree with the stylus thing. It's very essential for some specific users like me. But I have to disagree about the older smartphones. In 2008, Sony Ericsson P9 is way better than Palm Treo 680. Both have keyboards, stylus, but the first one has a soft key, and has bigger display and better camera, with flash and larger expandable storage.

I wouldn't buy it if you are tight on money. Just buy S8 if you want a new device this year. Price alone speaks volumes as S8 price has plummeted. Unless you are that small group of people who actually needs that pen, it is not worth it.

where is danny black I totally agree with you. I have been a Samsung fan since the Galaxy S6 came out. I have never been an Apple fan and never like their product or interface. However, ever since I started recording my vlogs and 4KI had to use my wife's macbook to do all my editing. I will never go to an iPhone but I certainly do like the ease of the Mac book when making my videos.
Douglas Higley well apple is industry standard when it comes to editing video and audio. Apple products are fully optimized unlike products that run off windows. Sure you can have a bitching PC but you won't have that stability and stable internal clock to edit audio and video.

AIpimp I agree it's very good when you large surface area like in the tablets but on note 8 even though it's like largest phone it is narrow width wise and you can't write much
I have absolutely no problem with the phone, I in fact own a s8 and its the best phone I've ever had. However the price is stupidly expensive its 50% more expensive than the S8 and that's the same problem I have with apple, that phone and apples are overpriced. And with the note 8 you get a 2nd camera and a stylus and suddenly its $300+ more expensive.

I dont think swipe gesture exists on iOS, but I love it, I always try to swipe across keyboard even with phones which don't have it.

A better comparison would be the Note 5 vs the iPhone 8 because Apple is always 2 years behind with hardware features.
Yeah apples hardware is behind but their software is way better I think, they don't have the really strong hardware but their software is so light that the phone is as fast as a strong hardwared samsung or any.

DoubleJayPotato The Snapdragon and Exynos processors are the best. The A10 only benches high in single core because of the good optimization. If the 8895 was running iOS, it would run circles around the A10 (which it already does in multi core testing)

I do a lot of 3D artwork, so I do a lot of reference drawings. The note is super convenient because you can make quick sketches at any given moment in time, and I love it for that. It's perfect if you're an artist.

Actually a ton of people use the stylus with the Note series devices... it's like the entire point of the phone

I don't agree, I see a stylus like a regress. For the note is ok, but note 8 is a NOTE, not a phone! With your fingers you can reach your maximum work speed.
