RESPONDING TO SOME FURTHER QUESTIONS;
the app crash; i could not close the app in landscape or portrait - i tried swiping from every direction, this was more than a UX problem - i was able to recreate the phone freezing twice. it was real.
multitasking; app switching is super simple but closing apps from the card view is slow and tedious. i was not as clear as i shouldve been. (actually think app switching is way better on the X and any previous iteration) wish there was a close all option though.
face id; yes if attention awareness is off it works great with glasses but it greatly reduces the security. i wish the phone had a fingerprint scanner - that remains.
COD - i know ww2 is out. it is with some shame that i say i havent installed it yet. was playing IW to procrastinate shooting this video

when the app crashed the home bar was o n the left because the app was in landscape. The bar was also greyed out meaning that app made it so that it requires a double swipe. once to activate the bar, and once to do the actual swipe to home.
Shut them apple fans down! They literally will say apple can't do no wrong, the phone is amazing but apple mess up the gestures and UI/UX going full screen and everyone should call it out and make them fix it, not accept it and tell everyone to live with it.

The home button was there vertically on the iphone x when in the dji app, not horizontally at the bottom.
Thats why you couldn’t go to the homescreen😂

About the DJI app, it’s in landscape so the home indicator (the bar at the bottom) also goes to landscape mode (just the bottom of the screen where you are) it’s actually really simple

yeah in the video you can even see the indicator on the side for a few seconds. swipe up from the side to bring it up.
and you can close the apps by swiping once the close indicator appears

For sunglasses, you can turn off the attention feature in the FaceID settings. That would make it work just fine.

*I think* When the app crashed on your iphone X, the "home" swipe motion had to be done on the horizontal side of the phone since the app was made that way. (You can see the small whitish line)

The DJI app didn’t crash. When you’re in an app that only runs in landscape, the home button (bar) is on the side. You can see on the left in that footage

It's Joel in the USA it's also illegal if you are using it, also illegal in some states to have it like GPS or something if it covers any windshield visibility, but if you have it on the air vents or stereo height it's OK.

Derek Hjelm you’re not allowed to “use” your phone at all. So yeah when you’re stopped, you can’t look at messages/notifications etc. However you can use it for SatNav if it’s on a mount. Seems ridiculous though because most new cars have big screens which are way more distracting haha!

For the drone thing, Casey, you do realize that the bar was on landscape mode because the drone app itself was landscape. You could see the bar on the left side of the phone screen.

You couldn’t close the dji go app because you were swiping where the home button would be in portrait mode. In landscape mode, the home button is on the long side

I feel the same after seeing his issues with the multitasking screen too, to open it you just swipe up and right, you don't need to hold to open it, and then when it is open, you can just swipe up to close apps after the long press.

when using an app in landscape, the home button will be on the bottom which ever way you were holding it. I had an app crash on me and i was looking for the home button in portrait mode too. When i clicked on the middle of the screen, the bar shows up at the side of the phone where the volume/power buttons are.

The home button was on the side, it changes according to the orientation of the screen. If the app requires to be in landscape mode then the home button would be on the side of the screen.
And the white line that appears when you move your phone is the home button 😁

So you couldn’t close the DJI app because it was in landscape mode instead of portrait and the home indicator moves sideaways to remain in the virtual bottom of the phone (which was landscape). You can actually see the indicator on the left side when you’re showing the “frozen” app.
Casey!!! The home button switches to the side! If you replay the video you can see the bar appear to the left of where you were trying to swipe. When in landscape it is always on the left or the bottom of landscape. Up vote this so he can see this so he knows!

When you want to close apps swipe up and to the right, it’s a lot faster than swiping up and holding your finger. And when the red minimizing button comes up to close apps, you can also swipe them up to close them like with the older iPhones

Okay, so I'm pretty sure the reason you couldn't go to the home screen with the app crashed is that I'm pretty sure the home screen line thing is on the side of the phone. It is like that because while you are in apps that are landscape, the home button swipe thing will be on the long side rather than the short side to make it easier for you to go home while in the landscape app. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think it might be true.

You should try to clear 10 notifications on my iPad. It only lets u clear all for Yesterday. It makes u clear each individual one for today.

A couple of his gripes were because of user error. DJI app (swipe from side) and multitask. Once you hold down and the red minus symbol comes up, you can swipe the apps up and close them.

You also don't need to be managing your apps like on android. iOS devs literally say you don't need to close apps, it's designed so that you don't have to. They don't want you to close apps and it shows.
