Yeah, but thats the thing. i think that occured in his mind to be the obvious answer, but asked anyway to be sure, because yelling IS IT MY TURN NOW? can seem very obnoxious to people unaware of her dissability. Thats the thing i would fear most about being blind, is being a burden to others, or seem obnoxious.
its not funny what happen if u are blind u gonna be laughin at ur own self ??? @sabine huus i dont think so or someone will laugh at u uk u wont like it either if u laugh at someone like that bc she blind grow up !!!
"When I lost my vision I lost all of my friends" makes me sad, angry, and it hurts to think about people not supporting their friends while they are going through such a difficult adjustment. I would never treat a friend like that! Anyway, this video was fun an VERY inspiring !
I know it's a year later, but still, I don't think it's, "well, you're blind so I'm not gonna hang out with you anymore," I think it's more that there's a lot of stuff that blind people would enjoy less or can't do at all, so you just grow apart.
It's both scary and great at the same time. The vast vast vast majority of people all over the world will help you, many will even go out of their way to.
Annie B Videos Cheers. I've known of Casey for a while, but have been following Molly for longer and it's because of this video I'm subbing Mr. Neistat.
That is amazing that despite her disability she does not seems totally loss. It is incredible that people overcome a disability and learns to live with it. I am pretty sure one of her other senses is exceptionally strong to compensate on her sight disability.
As a visually impaired person, I wouldn't say hearing increases so much as you learn to use it more efficiently. I'm much better at identifying things by touch though ;). Also don't pet guide dogs! Or distract them!
The recreation of what her vision potentially looks like was brilliant. Really puts things in perspective and really frustrated me to be honest. As an artist who works with film and is behind the camera and in front of the camera and loves to draw and do photography... my ability to see is one of the top 3 things I am grateful for every day. I love being able to see the world. Molly is amazing for having her channel and teaching others how some people have to view the world in a different way. Thanks for sharing her with us, Casey.
It’s funny cause you’re an artist who works with film and me personally I’m a musician; If ever i had to lose my sight or my hearing I would choose to lose my sight and you’re probably the other way around.
Jean Claude Gat Damn Molly's guide dog was trained at the Myra Foundation Guide Dog School, which is located in a part of Canada where French is spoken.
yea so I wrote this comment about how I was feeling at the time after watching the video.. had I known it would get upvoted and taken so literally I would have maybe thought more about what to write. (I figured it would just get lost in all the other comments)
This was amazing! I have known Molly since she was a little girl and have worked with the Foundation Fighting Blindness through the Ride for Sight for 14 years. She was an amazing little girl and now a remarkable woman. I am sooooo proud to know her!!
Casey: "How do you know if it's your turn to order?" Molly: "Is it my turn to order?" Cashier: "Yes." Molly: "That's how I know." XD THAT IS MY FAVORITE PART IF THE ENTIRE VIDEO
This is probably my favorite Casey vlog to date. The positivity with which Molly copes with her disability is an inspiration. Thanks for sharing her story, I wish her all the best!
She is really good at makeup too! Personally (I'm blind) I practice making eye contact by putting my blind spot on peoples' faces, so when a friend telling someone is staring at me because of my cane I try to make eye contact to scare them lol
I been subbed to her for a while, she has a video showing how she does her makeup. Shes also very good about linking other videos in the description when she references something so if you're ever curious about how she does something you can find it easily.
By far one of my favourite Casey vlog ever it was just so motivational. if she can do that and she’s blind it just goes to show how hard work and dedication pays off. Thx Casey and Molly
This was incredible and great and I love Molly so so much just came from watching her on Shane's channel. Def subscribed now. Side note : totally shook at the kpop playing in that coffee shop almost a year ago
Molly, as a student and biomedical researcher I've been quite inspired by what I've seen of your story and it has reminded me of why I do what I do. I am currently studying neuroscience and bioengineering and I work with brain-computer interfaces designed to aid those with disabilities much like your own. I truly believe that within our lifetime technology will exist that will restore your sight and it is humbling for me to take any part in helping those such as you. Thank you again.
Met her 3 years ago she came to my school...told a story about how her friends abandoned her in a forest and took her crutches from her, pretty fucked up, but she's cool.
As a vision impaired person myself, I got goosebumps after watching this. Thank you Casey for broadcasting some of the adversities and experiences blind people encounter, and thank you Molly for being such an inspirational figure. I love this so much.
Casey, i have watched every one of your video's for about a year and a half now and I have to say this is by far the best and most thought provoking video I have seen. Definitely going to be giving Molly a follow.
I don't often comment on videos but this is one of the reasons that i love to watch this channel. Amazing episode, very emotional and enlightning. Molly i wish you all good, you're one amazing human being. :)
First i get amazed seeing Molly. she is amazing, Then i get super amazed seeing , how 1K ppl disliked "THIS" video. There is absolutely no reason to dislike such a sweet and positive Video.
It's very interesting that she still has the same mannerisms as a person with vision. Like when she puts her hand underneath her chin when Casey introduces her.
If you mean how can she know she's putting her hand under her chin, it's not thansk to her vision it's thanks to our brain, like when you have an itch in your back and you know exactly where it itches without actually seeing it
I think Billip is referring more to the poses and pouts that are the current trends in young womens selfies and photos in general. How does she know what the current trends are in posing. I'm sure Billip will correct me if I'm wrong in the interpretation of the statement, but it's something I thought of myself too.
This is completely amazing. TH-camrs like this who have to work extra hard at it because of a disability should inspire others. I know this is an older video of yours Casey but I love going back to watch the old stuff. I’m glad you are always doing stuff like this it means a great deal to a lot of people.
It is not understandable for me that a city like New York doesn't have "sounding" signals!! In Switzerland you here every time when the lights are green a "beep" sound.
Jan Oeschger Same in Warsaw and I bet every big city in Poland. There is different beep when it is red and when it is green light. When it is green, it beep faster :D
First video of my day, and I'm smiling. Thank you to both of you!! Molly, your liveliness gave me power to fight through my exhausting day. Casey, thank you for making this inspiring video.
A truly incredible, dedicated down to earth person. Such a great story. Hearing that she wants to make negative things into positive things for her viewers is amazing. I hope she has a successful rest of her adventure and life.
In the middle of all the nasty Jake-Paul-ish drama, it's so great to see people producing such amazing videos as this one. Thank you Casey, thank you Molly.
From a neurological perspective blindness is extremely interesting. See when our brains have a "vacant" spot so to speak it will repurpose this portion of the brain. This unfortunately means most people who have been blind for an extended period of time no longer have the capability to know how to see. What's even more interesting is that our subconscious thinks in visual concepts so when somebody becomes blind their method of thinking shifts. The lanaguage center of the brain actually begins to enlarge which facilitates somebody who is blind to begin thinking in language more often, which forces the frontal cortex to become activated. Meaning..?.. Blind people are more likely to be logical thinkers.
I work in Albany NY and train people with visual impairments how to do things adaptively. The way you set up your camera to show what her vision is like was such a good simulation for others. Thanks for introducing her, I will definitely be following her and showing her to my younger students I teach. You’re the best Casey!!
This skyrocketed to the top of my favorite Casey videos. I love how amazingly positive Molly is and I loved Casey attempting to put himself in her shoes and really try to understand how Molly has had to adapt and navigate through life. All very, very heartwarming!! Molly's getting a new subscriber and Casey gets another gold star.
Hello Caleb Twombly I am looking for the fans of the Casey to join me in building a database of synopsis for Casey's vlogs! Please reply here if you are interested to become a contributor:
not a chance she is blind you can tell by how she is looking around and knowing exactly what is there and what she is doing i believe she has really bad vision but no way its as bad as shes saying its a good idea though to make a channel about being blind and the daily problems
Eric as ik a blind person and they have much better hearing and know which was to look as the lights can show her that where to look. If you dont acctully believe she's blind idk to say but get your facts straight.
Casey I have been watching since about 60 episodes into season 1 and have never left a comment, but this video was amazing. This was so original and shows why you are truly the best out there. Keep juggling life and doing great things. Thank you
Molly is so inspiring! And I absolutely love how she helped us understand visual impairment and took us into her world even just for a few minutes. I especially liked how when they were at the coffee shop she was like 'just ask' how she put so much trust in others is really something in itself. To not be afraid or ashamed in asking others for help to can applied to literally anything (not just visual impairment) which was quite nice to think about. P.S. you were great too Casey (keep it up! ) and your vlogs truly cheer me up after a long day
Awesome video, Casey! I just went over and subscribed to her channel. I'm always looking for something fresh and interesting. Can't wait to binge watch everything.
Only the Neistat could blindfold himself and create a superior vlog than most of what TH-cam has to provide. Thanks for sharing your life with us Molly!
WinterF0x HD That's actually a huge misconception about blind people. Thanks to technology blind people have access to a system called VoiceOver that reads everything on a computer/tablet/phone screen. Molly has multiple videos on her channel on how she uses technology
Tons of people have done it before with all sorts of different disabilities, actually, but I agree that this was a very Casey-like thing to do, and it makes the vlog very interesting.
This was an amazing vlog. She's such an amazing person. This was touching. The other day I was overwhelmed at the fact that I am substantially colorblind bc someone told me that I was missing out. And I never really thought about it till a day ago and I was wondering what everyone else sees that I don't. I am so grateful today because of both of you. thnaks!
its not a stupid comment, its ignorant. i don't mean that in a rude way, but people tend to pity those with disabilities - it's just human behavior. All it takes is some exposure and teaching =)
Thank you SO MUCH for doing this video! I have twin sons who are amazing Deaf men, and one is a model, and also blind on the left, and has about 15% sight on his right side. If you are ever in Ireland or the uk, we would love for them to meet you and Candice and the kids! (Well, and your young man too!) Anyway, I think this video may just inspire them, as they have degrees in art and are both creative! The other twin is an actor! Once again, thank you for creating a new "conversation" and we will definitely be subscribing to Molly's channel! God bless, Your fans in Ireland
So cool, thanks for highlighting her and having her on. What a positive and inspirational person! Definitely subbed to her channel, I can't wait to go check out her videos!
I "Wow'ed". This girl/woman is so positive, smart, articulate and if I didn't know, I wouldn't say she was blind unless I saw her with the dog. Adapted incredibly well.
Now it's 2020 and I came back to watch this video again. It's precious. Regret we don't see Casey's contents so often nowadays. T_T but I still watch this channel again and again :)
Who else noticed that Molly looked a bit like Candice, especially when she smiles? Anyway, Molly's story really is so inspiring, from all her friends leaving her when she got blind, her mom as the talking mirror, how she managed to live the life she's not prepared and didn't prefer, and still out there trying to "DoWhatYouCant". Two thumbs up for you Molly, and also for you Casey!
Casey, this was an awesome video and eye opener. I hope your jump onto the limb of the fesr that comes with the loss of sight educates many and empowers others! Thank you!
This is why in Australia major crossings at roads with traffic lights make noise as well as flashing green when it is your turn to cross, it also makes a slightly different noise to tell you that crossing time s almost over so don't start crossing now, which is when the red man is flashing
Chloe P Major/fancier crosswalks in the US make a faint beeping sound I believe to help you locate the button, and if you press it it’ll tell you when the walk signal is on and counts down when it’s about to end.
Unfortunately, he is not "over". The press he is getting is just feeding his channel. He gets an average of 50k new subs per day and an average of 15 million views per day... So i'm afraid Jake Paul is here to stay.
this is a great important youtube topic. Making more videos with youtubers with handicap to demonstrate workarounds is groundbreaking for youtube at large.
When a blind woman does eye contact better than you
That's the point of having problems to make eye contact. If you wouldn't see a thing it wouldn't be uncomfortable for you...
emanemanresuresu making eye contact with someone makes you uncomfortable?
Aakash Lamichhane for reals!
Kind of.
Aakash Lamichhane 😂😂😂 it's so true
"How do you know when is your turn to order?"...she yells "is it my turn to order?" "That's how I know" 😂😂😂she's amazing!!
WildRider hahahaha epic 😂😂😂
WildRider savage
WildRider yes she is and Kudos to Casey for getting her story there.
Yeah, but thats the thing. i think that occured in his mind to be the obvious answer, but asked anyway to be sure, because yelling IS IT MY TURN NOW? can seem very obnoxious to people unaware of her dissability.

1066Rider too bad she doesn't know that
I've heard her describe her vision a number of times, but that visual that you did to help us understand was really cool!
Yeah! That visual was awesome!
Molly is awesome! We met her at a TH-cam Black event. She's extremely inspiring!
I love Molly Burke! Actually found this channel through hers, instead of the other way around.
Annie B Videos Cheers. I've known of Casey for a while, but have been following Molly for longer and it's because of this video I'm subbing Mr. Neistat.

I know right! It is amazing!
if i was blind i would meditate until i could sense the world
"When one sense diminishes, another increases" - learn't that from the Mighty Boosh
As a visually impaired person, I wouldn't say hearing increases so much as you learn to use it more efficiently. I'm much better at identifying things by touch though ;). Also don't pet guide dogs! Or distract them!

She puts "strong women" playing lead roles in movies and overweight bikini models to shame. I can get behind strong women like this one.

thanks for that insight. Looks like a pretty well disciplined dog.
This video was so incredibly well made. The recreation of Molly's vision really helped put her world into perspective.

TheFarStar111 she said it was a disease. there are a multitude of diseases that could cause blindness. maybe she explains more on her channel
Aria Major my cousin has stargardt disease. Just curious if it's the same she has. I'm on her channel right now.

That's when l started tearing up
She does her own makeup. Just that is amazing.

P.S. Yes! She said in one of her videos that's it's her natural way because she did that before she was blind she just follows it by her hearing
Yes I've seen a few of her videos and I'm pretty sure every question here will be answered by one of them.
well she literally explained how she can see reflection in his glasses, so....

I love how amazingly positive Molly is and I loved Casey attempting to put himself in her shoes and really try to understand how Molly has had to adapt and navigate through life. All very, very heartwarming!!
Molly's getting a new subscriber and Casey gets another gold star.
Nice words!!.I agree with you
Hello Caleb Twombly I am looking for the fans of the Casey to join me in building a database of synopsis for Casey's vlogs!
I totally agree! :)
Casey I have been watching since about 60 episodes into season 1 and have never left a comment, but this video was amazing. This was so original and shows why you are truly the best out there. Keep juggling life and doing great things. Thank you
same here!
Same too
agree 100%
Im surprised about the amount of times she manages to look into the camera, also her eye contact with interaction is good, fair play to you girl x
Dean Hartland well she can see light and shadows so I'd say shes basically blind sans for one or two things
She can see the lighting of the camera
Basically fully blind, she can see lights and that's it. Casey does seemingly great job illustrating what she sees.
Only the Neistat could blindfold himself and create a superior vlog than most of what TH-cam has to provide. Thanks for sharing your life with us Molly!
Not to be rude or anything but i dont think she will see your comment (see the irony in that)
WinterF0x HD That's actually a huge misconception about blind people. Thanks to technology blind people have access to a system called VoiceOver that reads everything on a computer/tablet/phone screen. Molly has multiple videos on her channel on how she uses technology
WinterF0x HD but you know there's someone helping her read comments on her channel, right? she could get told about it if s/he saw it
Tons of people have done it before with all sorts of different disabilities, actually, but I agree that this was a very Casey-like thing to do, and it makes the vlog very interesting.
This was an amazing vlog. She's such an amazing person. This was touching.
The other day I was overwhelmed at the fact that I am substantially colorblind bc someone told me that I was missing out. And I never really thought about it till a day ago and I was wondering what everyone else sees that I don't. I am so grateful today because of both of you. thnaks!
Thanks for making this... very beautiful person and fun to watch you two exploring the experience together.
This is by far one of your best videos yet.
Miguel Betances so very true
It's a bummer that she'll never see what a beautiful woman she has become...
L4S SE beautiful is inside. I'm not a handsome dude but I know I'm a good man inside... that's good enough for me.
What a stupid comment.
It's a bummer that she see what a brad pitt like studs Casey is.
but she knows she's beautiful. That's what counts. Its not a bummer at all!
its not a stupid comment, its ignorant. i don't mean that in a rude way, but people tend to pity those with disabilities - it's just human behavior.
God bless,
Your fans in Ireland
So cool, thanks for highlighting her and having her on. What a positive and inspirational person! Definitely subbed to her channel, I can't wait to go check out her videos!
when you took off the blind fold i felt so sad because i realized... she doesnt have a blindfold to take off.
edan this is life man...
:(
ahh dude that just hit me soo sad but she's an inspiration !
:( you are so right
she has just accepted it
This might be one of the coolest and most powerful TH-cam video of 2017. Well done Casey.
Tyson Bowman yes l agree with you it's awesome
Tyson Bowman agree!
I "Wow'ed". This girl/woman is so positive, smart, articulate and if I didn't know, I wouldn't say she was blind unless I saw her with the dog. Adapted incredibly well.
AGREE
Tyson Bowman most defidently
DUDE... the music for all your videos is so damn good.. masterfully done! (edit: great video too. Molly is pretty & amazing)
Now it's 2020 and I came back to watch this video again. It's precious. Regret we don't see Casey's contents so often nowadays. T_T but I still watch this channel again and again :)
Oh my lord is she BEAUTIFUL!
Daniel Williams you guys can go on a blind date.

Best comment on this video
Sucks she can't see the comments though.
Breyet no but she can listen to them.
Yeah she is gorgeous
Who else noticed that Molly looked a bit like Candice, especially when she smiles? Anyway, Molly's story really is so inspiring, from all her friends leaving her when she got blind, her mom as the talking mirror, how she managed to live the life she's not prepared and didn't prefer, and still out there trying to "DoWhatYouCant". Two thumbs up for you Molly, and also for you Casey!
Creative North Four thumbs up!
I had a mixed of emotions while watching today's vlog :( :) :D :0
well said CreativeNorth
I was also gonna say that she looks like Candice
her ex-friends will start to come back for her after watching this go viral
After the jake Paul bullshit I thought TH-cam was going downhill but now thanks the ppl like Casey I know there still is hope
Casey has been making vids for years on youtube. Jake Paul is already over.
Kaven K What happened with Jake Paul?
Unfortunately, he is not "over". The press he is getting is just feeding his channel. He gets an average of 50k new subs per day and an average of 15 million views per day... So i'm afraid Jake Paul is here to stay.
ThatsPLunk what happened with Jake Paul?
He has had a lot of bad press for causing havoc and has been fired from the disney channel. Just google it man...
I did not expect a Casey Neistat video today, and I certainly did not expect it to be so cute and heart-warming. Great video, Casey!
Casey, great vblog Is one of the most enjoyable one I saw, thanks both of you for sharing this experience
Casey. This has got to be one of your better videos in a long time. Thank you for sharing this with us. Mind blown following her channel now!
she's amazing
NastyTracks seriously people go check out Molly Burkes Channel, she has an amazing mind, and it's also really fun to watch her content.
Definitely an education
I hope she knows how beautiful she is
Thomas Chan She does know it with her bravery.
Thomas Chan she is beautiful
Aww
Watched in 2021! Casey, you're a good man! And that girl is so brave and heroic and positive! WOW! So inspiring :)
this is a great important youtube topic. Making more videos with youtubers with handicap to demonstrate workarounds is groundbreaking for youtube at large.
Probably one of my favorite episodes that you've ever done👍
Kaitlyn Calamia absolutely.
What a truly inspirational girl! Such positivity considering her misfortune. Awesome video! Keep it up Molly!
she'll probably never gonna read that.
Linus Esch oh wow 😂
Loved this video, just got into these vlogs they are amazing keep it up man
One of my favourite videos Casey, awesome stuff! So much respect Molly!
