Hey Hank, appreciate you standing out in the rain giving us the rundown on this rig. I’ve taken so much of what I’ve learned from you out on the water & had results. Not always great, but still results. That’s just fishin.#100percentwatchsquad👊
Best video I’ve seen for FFS and the Damiki. I’m my opinion, you make the best informative videos on fishing. From equipment to techniques and then retrieve, and what not to do. Huge fan and you’re also in my next of the woods.
I love this technique Hank! I don't have forward facing sonar, but I have managed to catch some great fish with this technique. You are right about the accuracy part. It makes a difference. You Rock Hank!!
Another awesome video Hank. The last few minutes was hilarious 😂 And your right i have live scope and im havine alot of trouble see my lure. Seeing fish no problem but finding my lure is a struggle 🙄. Keep up the great work brother 🎣🔥 #100percentwatchsquad
Id like to suggest that you take a look at Matt Stephan and Johnny Shultz’s“😮Core Tackle’s” “Hover Rig” and “tush” swim bait heads. They are on Tackle Warehouse and they are incredibly innovative. Swim bait jig heads in multiple weights and lots of weights. Not to mention, the current king. An all new way to fish the hover stroll system. 💯 more efficient and effective!Whats amazing about these two peices of terminal gear is that there is absolutely no lead or any other weight visible because your lure fits right over it! Fabulous for flipping, pitching and especially skipping!
I had the highschool tournament on Douglas yesterday and we did pretty good! We caught em off shore in about 18 ft and I caught a 3 pound smallie and my PB a 6 pound large mouth
Nice big lmb to start the video. I definitely want to try the Damiki rig as I also throw a lot of swim baits. Thanks for doing that video in the rain. You could have gone home, but didn't. #100percentwatchsquad 💪😎🎣🤘
Excellent information, I love to throw a spy bait there or a wake bait at night, I live in Whitesburg but that's my favorite lake close by anyway, see ya on the water my friend..
@@BassGeek Lol! It's something that I wish more people would think about when out on the water. As a matter of fact, today's video features that idea prominently (as well as a certain fishing TH-camr's sticker).
Good video, however you missed a key point on the actual rig Wheeler is using, If you look closely he's using a head with a different hook eye angle. This tends to destabilize the bait and also impart a rolling action that can't be had with a 90 degree line tie.
That’s why you tie a loop knot. Been doing it for years. Literally tightlining before live scope. Go watch a video with Ott Defoe on 3B outdoors. The same year Casey won the classic in SC Defoe was tight lining those suspended bass. Trust me that’s just a 60degree line tie and you can get the SAME out of a 90. Don’t drink the cool-aid. I mean Gussy on the TN River twice and Joey Nanina on Ufalia in the open. Both 90 degree line ties. It’s all the same.
Just the head truthfully. You can make this bait hover (I've been doing it for years) plus you can't get the heavier hooks and weight in the hover stuff. I just feel the hover is more a light shallower deal. I and most prefer this way
Great description and demonstration of this technique, to bad we couldn’t see the rod tip to see the amount of shaking to properly do this technique but absolute fantastic video, but that’s what we’ve come to expect from the geek #100%watchsquad
Man hank you gotta sit down when your filming. It looked like you are walking in a circle on the boat. I was getting dizzy. Great technique at some point I'll definitely have to give it a try
Nope he won hovering the Rapala Freeloader on a moon eye jig. That’s another rig that to me is more about getting the angler to buy crap. With the right line headweight and plastic you can “Hoover” a Damiki rig. That to is the point of this video.
Im beginning to join the anti forward facing sonar bunch. I hope in 5 years when you turn it on every bass in the lake will scatter !! eventually you have to know how to fish.
So are you saying I don't know how to fish? Have you ever watched more than this video? Did anything in this video make you think I care about your opinion? Thanks for the view and comment it just helps the channel.
There’s too many arguments about FFS. If a fisherman has busted his nuts for 25 or 30 years before it came out, that guy gets a hall pass. I still enjoy the challenge of traditional sonar and busting my nuts.
Everything on TH-cam is about clickbait...he says Secret Custom bait...you say nope its the rig...both getting views...Ultimately he was the best fisherman that day and figured em out...He's an incredibly gifted angler. And you say in the comments "just to get fishermen to buy crap" ...He has to promote his sponsors just as you do on every video...I like you both but dont hate the best...
Lol this wasn’t hate I was just pointing out that it Disney matter if ya use a zman, a Damiki, a bassmunitions, or whatever. Look it YOU the viewers that has forced the “Clickbait”. I can show you the numbers and analytics that says a simple how to gets crap views and fishing videos LOL! There’s a reason why I don’t do them but once a month at best. I hate clickbait but don’t hate the player hate the game and you the views dictate the playing field.

Heck I don't have great results most the time. HAHAHAHA. Thank ya sir I hope I help over all.

Hey thank you so muck that means a lot and local support is important.

Hey like I e said you don’t have to have one but you can still. At h’em with this
Great video and appreciate the information you shared. It always helps! Looking forward to more great content. As always, #BassGeek rocks!!!
Thank you very much and man Is it fun
THANK YOU!! Its no secret and now everyone is talking about the "hover rig" and its just a take on the Damiki. The world is nuts!!
Yes your spot on. The only real benefit to it that I see is that the weight is hidden and it’s more subtle in clear water
Another awesome video Hank. The last few minutes was hilarious 😂
And your right i have live scope and im havine alot of trouble see my lure. Seeing fish no problem but finding my lure is a struggle 🙄. Keep up the great work brother 🎣🔥

I’ve got a video on that coming sir. I think I can help

Nope! It’s a gimmick you can Hoover this if the bait the setup is right and the Hoover rig is the same to me as a Tokyo rig it’s a glorified drop shot
😂😂😂 Japan has been doing this for ages it’s nothing new. The core tackle rig is a money grab nothing more nothing less.
terrific vid, Hank! Great details as well. I really enjoyed the fish calling you did near end of vid. lol
Hahahahaha I hope ya got a laugh out of it
I had the highschool tournament on Douglas yesterday and we did pretty good! We caught em off shore in about 18 ft and I caught a 3 pound smallie and my PB a 6 pound large mouth
HECK YEAH MAN WAY TO GO!
@@BassGeek got 3rd and 200 dollars and I’d rather fish than weedeet for money 🤷♂️
Congratulations on the tournament. In the money.

Me too. I love to toss anything that they will eat. lol
100% you rock dude great video Hank
Thank you sir You Rock!
Great video Hank and I'm definitely looking forward to the Garmin LS setup video. #100percentwatchsquad.
Shew I love it I'll tell ya.
I say we rename the 2 techniques coming together the “geek” method. Hundo squad here
Hahaha I’ ll take it!
Do you ever fish the damiki rig at night in highland lakes? Thinking smallmouth on bluffs here . Thanks
Yes and you know just go bigger darker or brighter
Good video & great info. I’ll be trying it at night next week. Thanks
I don’t know if I want forward facing or not but if I get into some money I would probably buy it100%watchsquad!!!
Hey like I say ya never know what’s coming
#100percentwatchsquad I've said it before and I'll say it again...Technique over tackle. The gear is the tool, what matters is how you use it!
BAM!!!!!! I’m stealing that sir but I will give you credit! Technique over tackle!

Hey how do I get you that video for the challenge? I’ve been meaning to ask for a month. Sorry
@@BassGeek I've been trying to reply, but I think YT is pushing those to your "held for review" section of the comments.
Since this is more related to LiveScope, it is about the equipment.
One of your best Hank! Can you tell what Garmin unit you are livescoping with?
On the Caymas I have a 1222 GPS Map and on the Triton I have a 1022 but the Echo Maps are just as goo when it comes to live scope
Thanks for sharing this information Hank. #100%watchsquad
Anytime sir.
You got that right Hank, livescope can and will definitely make you question your ability to catch fish
Hahahahaha YES!
What’s ur livescope setting bro very clean pictures
The ONLY Settings That MATTER Forward Faceing Sonar

@@BassGeek we'll just have to agree to disagree. Still like your channel
Totally agree! He did not invent it! I've seen you tightline! Thanks for this.
Yeah I didn’t either it’s been around a long time I’m just saying you can use about any bait to do it.
What's the difference between the Dimiki and Hover technique?
Just the head truthfully. You can make this bait hover (I've been doing it for years) plus you can't get the heavier hooks and weight in the hover stuff. I just feel the hover is more a light shallower deal. I and most prefer this way
I’m excited
Awesome
I can't get the big smallmouth to bite, I landed a 22inch in my pb
It's tough right now Keep after it you'll get a toad. Shew like that 22incher. Massive.
One for me to work on. Thanks for all the info. #100percentwatchsquad
Thank you for watching!
Great description and demonstration of this technique, to bad we couldn’t see the rod tip to see the amount of shaking to properly do this technique but absolute fantastic video, but that’s what we’ve come to expect from the geek
#100%watchsquad
Yeah I tried to show the tip but it just didn’t show up real well
how does this differ from the hover rig? same idea isn't it?
Yes but this has been out and done for quit a bit longer.
You are so right....
hahaha can you tell my wife that. LOL
Good video
Thank you very much
I vote for geek method 😊
YES!
we call it the mooping rig up here for catching walleys %100!
MMMMMMM Walleye

Man you know what's funny about that. I was. I always walk when I'm talking on phone or at my phone. It's a habit.
#100percentwatchsquad I've got the stuff just haven't used it and don't have FFS. Plus didn't go in winter
This is a year round technique.
#100WatchSquad as always Hank you Rock
Thanks very much You sir Rock as well

#100percentwatchsquad I'd like to have FFS someday
It’s awesome
Send us some rain. haha.
Hahaha I I would love to it's been raining for 4 days here.
Let's throw some M-80's YeeHaa. Or a crank telephone Yea Boy
LOL LETS GO!
I had to get better at this
It get's bites. We have been doing it without FFS for years.

This seems like something you could do with a soft jerkbait in a pinch.
Exactly! That’s my whole point the plastic don’t matter that much
