When my children were small, I would often prepare dishes from different countries around the world as a way for us to explore and understand other cultures. Not long ago, our grown daughter told me that eating these different cuisines sparked in her a curiosity about other countries. She’s been to several countries in Europe (including Spain) and in South America, and is now living temporarily in Australia, soon to return to the US. Our son has a broader palate than most of his peers, and is slowly introducing his young family to different foods and flavors. @@SpainonaFork I was really hungry that night. I came back to say I made it a few more times since, but felt it needed extra flavor. Maybe my paprika and/or wine is weak. My taste isn't sensitive enough to be a great cook (I never got covid, rather I think it's my deviated septum and/or concussion last year)... so I've been amping up my flavors lately. I've been adding this extra stuff to make it a-la-more-importanter: - 1/4 tsp red chili flakes - 1+ tbsp red bell pepper flakes (I didn't measure, just poured in) - 1 tsp onion powder - 1/2 tsp garlic powder - 1/4-1/2 tsp turmeric (for brighter color admittedly, I can't taste it) - about 50% more wine - about 1.5 tsp paprika instead of "generous 1/2" It's basically Doritos in a pan now. I haven't checked what Dorito's ingredients are but I think it's getting close.
Made this tonight. It took longer than the prep time but it was well worth it. Absolutely bursting with flavor. Served with a fresh garden salad. This will be a staple going forward.
The title of this video is no hyperbole. I made these potatoes last night and they totally upstaged the grilled kebabs, baby kale and peach salad, and the conversation. Only substitution was cassava flour instead of wheat flour (gluten free girlfriend), and it worked wonderfully. Thanks!

Then i took a spoon after reducing, when it was done: It´s incredible! So tasty! Its more comparable to a Zarzuela or something, than to a potato dish. Muchas gracias para esa receta!
I made these last night and I have to say they are incredibly tasty. Fantastic recipe, thank you for sharing. By the way, I made too much last night and so had them for lunch today as well. But, what I did was take a round 20cm baking tray, stacked the potato slices around the edge to make a wall and then cracked two eggs in the middle and put in the oven for 7 minutes... Spanish potatoes with baked eggs! It was probably one of the finest lunches I’ve had. 👍🏼

Made this today! Instead of vegetable broth and wine, I swapped it out for chicken broth, white pepper and added a bit more chili padi (bird's eye chili). Also, I didn''t have parsley so I used spring onions and it honestly made it so much better. Mum-in-law said it was exceptional!
The peels also contain nutrients which get lost when skins removed; if people don’t want to use skins in certain dishes, there are ways to cook the peels separately to enjoy as crispy treats. Always love how you produce tasty recipes that are easy to prepare

Just made these for the first time on a trial run. Such an easy too follow recipe and such a delicious result. I said trial run because I'll now be serving them to friends this weekend. Also can't ignore the passion of the presenter. He makes me want to cook these. Smoked paprika is a great spice to cook with.
One of the things that drives me nuts during this pandemic is not having the ingredients for great sounding recipes like this. Started off good with Yukon golds, flour, egg, onion, garlic but then Spanish paprika, I have regular, vegetable broth, I have chicken, white wine, I have red, grrr. BP (before pandemic) I'd just hop down to my local grocery. Now I have to rely on my husband's every 10-14 day trips, (for which I am eternally grateful!) I will try these in the future though! Tried out this recipe. I can confirm - it's delicious! (used balsamic+lemon juice because no wine) Also did a fried Chorizo as a side which complimented it well.

This is my favourite dish, never thought I will find someone explaining it in English. However, we do it with almonds in the sauce and no white wine. Really, the almonds give the dish the ultimate key flavour touch, do try it!. Gracias por compartir

One of my coworker brought a dish that looked very similar to this, but she had added habenera peppers. It was so hot that it actually froze my brain for a minute, but after the heat dissipated the flavor was delicious. I have been trying to find the recipe ever since. 😍😍😍

I'm from India, I speak a language called Marathi, it's surprising that in Spanish you call potatoes Patata, in Marathi we call it Batata. I'll definitely try this recipe

They are definitely delicious! YUM!!! Growing up my mom and grandma maked these all the time, just using sweet potatoes following the same ingredients. Adding fresh cilantro & chopped green onions for garnish, served with a delicious steak or grilled chicken. AWESOME!!!!!! 👍

I enjoy your videos. I am part Spanish but have little or no knowledge of the dishes, or the culture.( My mother died when I was little ) I enjoy seeing the native dishes and hope one day to visit Spain.

Just made these for the first time on a trial run. Such an easy too follow recipe and such a delicious result. I said trial run because I'll now be serving them to friends this weekend. Also can't ignore the passion of the presenter. He makes me want to cook these. Smoked paprika is a great spice to cook with.

One of the things that drives me nuts during this pandemic is not having the ingredients for great sounding recipes like this. Started off good with Yukon golds, flour, egg, onion, garlic but then Spanish paprika, I have regular, vegetable broth, I have chicken, white wine, I have red, grrr. BP (before pandemic) I'd just hop down to my local grocery. Now I have to rely on my husband's every 10-14 day trips, (for which I am eternally grateful!)
I will try these in the future though!

(used balsamic+lemon juice because no wine)
Also did a fried Chorizo as a side which complimented it well.

I scrubbed the taters, and tossed them in the dryer, while I prepped all else...by habit, I tossed in a dryer sheet. ...RETAKE!
I did it, per instruction, and it was fantastic.

One thing about this dish is that it's very inexpensive... pretty easy but the results look and taste like a million dollars.

This is my favourite dish, never thought I will find someone explaining it in English. However, we do it with almonds in the sauce and no white wine. Really, the almonds give the dish the ultimate key flavour touch, do try it!. Gracias por compartir

One of my coworker brought a dish that looked very similar to this, but she had added habenera peppers. It was so hot that it actually froze my brain for a minute, but after the heat dissipated the flavor was delicious. I have been trying to find the recipe ever since. 😍😍😍

I'm from India, I speak a language called Marathi, it's surprising that in Spanish you call potatoes Patata, in Marathi we call it Batata.

They are definitely delicious! YUM!!! Growing up my mom and grandma maked these all the time, just using sweet potatoes following the same ingredients. Adding fresh cilantro & chopped green onions for garnish, served with a delicious steak or grilled chicken. AWESOME!!!!!! 👍
