Stakeholder Interview: What are the key elements of the Indaba? | Chief Director Seliki Tlhabane

Seliki Tlhabane is the Chief Director for Mathematics Science and Technology (MST) and Curriculum Enhancement Programmes at the National Department of Basic Education. He recently attended a two-day Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) indaba hosted by the Eastern Cape Human Resource Development Council to craft a plan to combat challenges facing STEM teaching and learning in the Eastern Cape. He gave a presentation at the event focusing on the state of STEM education in South Africa - strategic goals and paradigms. We caught up with him after the event to reflect on the deliberations. The HRD Council is an advisory body to the cabinet on HRD and related matters.
