    The former Capella St. Petri Altona were eight singers (2 sopranos, 2 altos, 2 tenors, 2 bassos) from Hamburg Altona. Today we are the Capella Peregrina.

    when my choir sang this we sang really loud and strong from "with ecstasy" to the end. i think it had a more intense effect than the diminuendo, but that's just my opinion.

    I prefer this recording to the Westminster Choir recording. Singing is fine on both but the director here recognizes that funeral music need not be sung the tempo of a dirge to be "meaningful."

    I agree with 5691Mark on this recording. What is more, this choir's enunciation is superior to the Westminster choir's.
