Xterra race truck update. More cutting, clutch pedal install and much needed reinforcements.

- The Xterra race truck gets a new hood and some much needed reinforcements. Also, I installed a new clutch pedal in preparation for the manual transmission swap. We have all the new parts from Jim wolf in and the new manual trans ready to go. The Xterra race truck took a little body damage during its last testing session and we had to trim up the rear a bit to clear those 35” general tires.

Seems like you need to extend the rear tire backwards for better angle of departure. Like have the drift shaft lengthened a little. And you should have that guy who made the front fenders see where you cut it for the rear fenders he wants to make. Ive been to that guys house to pick up front fenders.
Axle position is limited to +1” front or back. It’s already an inch back from stock. Not worried about departure angle due to this being a desert truck and prob won’t ever get the back end even close to getting scrubbed. Right now I’m not super focused on fiberglass for the back. Maybe once the truck is fully race prepped I’ll look into it. Still have a lot of little odds and ends to get before then.
@@Dagrootx yeah but if you push it back further youll clear the door. I think you've cut into the truck far enough, if the rear tires were where the evap canister was you'd have more travel and the door would be clear.

@@Dagrootx really? Why's that? People change angle of departure all the time for trucks? I mean it's a short wheel base compared to like a trophy pickup truck right?

@@Dagrootx You’re not THAT much older than me, so I highly doubt that. I started driving a standard around 1997. The Don taught me.
