I drive a Frontier Desert Runner with the stock VQ40 and a nice little muffler on it, no trumpet sounds, mine has more of a stock 1990’s 4.3 chevy non-turbo sound. edit: ik it sounds kinda weird, but the truck sounds good and performs good too!

There is a user on TheNewX forum who makes a plug and play wire harness pigtail that does the locker mod. It takes all of 30 seconds to install, and the same amount of time to remove it if you want to put it back to stock config for any reason. I have one installed on my 2010 Xterra OR. The locker mod and being able to use the locker in 2wd or 4hi is an absolute game changer.

Have you thought of getting the AE headers? I'm thinking of that. Also, I'm wondering about engine swap. 4.0 to the newer 3.8. Wondering if it's a plug-in play or if there's a lot of differences with mounting. I have about 240k miles on my '06 Pathfinder.

What is to stop the gas from leaking in-between the metal and the plastic tank. the only seal is the gasket on the top

Also, how would I go about taking mine to get tuned after a new intake? I've never had a vehicle tuned. I'm not sure if I'm gonna do exhaust upgrade or not yet.

I am late to this mod! Just want to make clear, I have a 4WD Xterra, I can do this mod and have my rear diff lock? I don't need no special gear/diff part added?

Ok what about swapping the rear Xterra differential for a titan? Is it as easy as you make a front swap. 😅

I have a 04 xterra, if it’s going to be a pavement princess, and I swap to a 5.6. Do I need to swap the frt/rear diff?
