    The fact that he didn’t win the 2003 NFL MVP is a travesty. Set the record for TDs, had the most yards for scrimmage that year, and led KC to a 13-3 record. Absolutely outstanding

    "Most productive" is such a hard thing to measure. Holmes had 6566 yards from scrimmage and 61 TDs in that three year run. Crazy impressive. Marshall Faulk had an overlapping three year run with 6765 yards from scrimmage and 59 TDs, on 149 fewer touches. If you want to value Holmes having more carries and more rushing yards in his three seasons, by all means, that's worth considering. But as the video touches on fantasy football value, Faulk's value was also sky high there. Worth mentioning that they both played in very similar offensive systems as well.

  • @sawchiefs29

      Emmitt's line was only good from 1990 to 1995, afterwards it went downhill with retirement, trading and injuries (Stepnoski traded to the Texans, Williams was injured with car accident, Newton and Tuinei were both in their mid-30s). If anything, Holmes line was even better but people don't remember than. Why, there the Cowboys. Even today this still happens. People say Zeke is overrated due to his line have 3 pro-bowlers even thought Bell and Murray have the same amount on their team.

      +Samuel Robert only 3 guys i have seen that will have my props. Holmes, Charles and Barry. it took Emmitt 5 years to catch up to Barry. you do this kind of production in 3 years let alone undrafted, you have more talent than people think. Charles best ypc ever and Barry only played 10 years and made everyone look stupid

    • @jackson5781
      @jackson5781 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Christopher Johnson please emmitt took 5 more years than barry sanders and barry made people look stupid. i only think of 3 backs that are elite. holmes, charles and Barry. charles has more ypc than anyone. thats during my time. as far as all time i didnt see much of others. emmitt i did see and he didnt impress me

    RB is my FAV position. The toughest position to play as u virtually get hit EVERY play. There are so MANY great backs of whom are forgotten that had amazing careers. Holmes, Edgerin James, Corey Dillion, Fred Taylor, Frank Gore, Eddie George, Ricky Waters, Thomas Jones, Steven Jackson, Jamal Lewis, Ricky Williams (for other reasons). ALL of these men are far above 10K career rushing but NOT in the HOF smh

    I’m going Emmitt from ‘94-‘96 as the best three year stretch ever from a RB….he had 62 TDS in that 3 year span and grabbed a ring in that stretch something that Priest didn’t do with an extremely loaded team almost as loaded as Emmitts Cowboys

    When Al Saunders left the Chiefs, a lot of people were thinking the party was over with the offense. Why? I don't know but...Trent Green lamented that Al Saunders was a big loss, but the loss of particular player was much (MUCH MUCH) bigger that offseason. Over a nine-year span, this player blocked for 5 running backs for nine straight 1,000 yards seasons. He lead the Chiefs in rushing one year and out-played Ray Lewis so badly on national tv that Ray sat on the bench questioning life as the trainers tried to put him back together to go get his ass beat some more. Who was he? Hint: He's lined up in front of Priest on the majority of the plays on this highlight reel.

    That KC OL during that era consisted of 3 HoF's: Willie Roaf, Brian Waters, Will Shields, 1 ProBowler: Casey Weigman, and 1 former first rd draft pick who was solid in his own right in John Tait. Also had the best run blocking Probowl FB in Tony Richardson and the best blocking TE in NFL history in Jason Dunn. Those aren't my words, those are Tony Gonzalez's words. Oh yeah he was on the team too, as was Dante Hall. Lots of firepower. People talk about Mahomes/Kelce, Hill now...these early 2000s teams would run them out of the stadium.
    It's really a damn shame those teams had some of worst defenses of all time. Remember how piss poor Chiefs D was first half of season and vs CIN? That was like every Sun back then. 32 Defense is what we called it.
