Ten years ago, Priest Holmes walked away from his professional football career, but he still feels its effects and he insists he doesn’t miss the game.
He will be… probably after he’s dead unfortunately. The 2nd greatest undrafted free agent of all time (behind Kurt Warner), and the best at his position.
I live in kansas city. We haven't made a super bowl since I've been alive but I love my team the atmosphere in the city is amazing. I wouldn't trade them for any other team.
I was right down on the goal line when Priest scored number 27. In my memory, he hesitates just a fraction of a second to take it all in and then struts in for the record. Wore his jersey for Red Friday today. 31 was so great his QB wanted to throw blocks for him!
2nd jersey I ever bought, #31. I loved watching him run behind Tony Richardson. The two were so in sync, Priest would put his hand on Tony's back, and when Tony made that key block, Priest was off to the races. Before Pat Mahomes, that was the best time to be a Chiefs fan.
This was an amazing interview. I get a real kick out of hearing players stories about their career and after their playing career. This interview has captured the part of Priest Holmes that that alotnis didn't get to know about. Thanks for this interview.
Such a physical freak. It's astonishing how soft-spoken he seems in this interview. This dude is a different dude on the field. And he excelled in an era of great running backs. Broke all-time NFL records as an undrafted player. Amazing player and human.
I just saw this interview with Priest Holmes and enjoyed it immensely. I agree with many of the comments here that he belongs in the NFL HOF. I attended the 1991 Texas High School Football Semi-final Playoff Game between Odessa Permian HS, Texas (Friday Night Lights) and John Marshall HS San Antonio. Anthony (Priest) Holmes was the star running back for Marshall HS. Although Permian won the game I came away thinking I had just witnessed the next Tony Dorsett. Without a doubt he was clearly the best, most talented kid on the field. Since I m a huge Texas Longhorn fan I was really happy he committed to play football at the University of Texas, but he didn't really play a lot because of injuries. When he was drafted as a free agent by the Baltimore Ravens in 1997 he began to show what a gifted and talented running back and receiver he was. He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, and now we know the rest of the story.
This guy is so darn articulate! Good guy. Glad he retired when he did - probably should have earlier in hind sight. Hope the next 10 years he holds up.

@@colinryan4737 sad but true
Fast on the field, intelligent, articulate, well spoken, charismatic, the man’s got it all.
Legend. I have lived in detroit my entire life cursed with the lions. I have been a chiefs fan since 2001. This guy made the game so amazing.

To think if he didn't sit his first couple years or so before he finally got his start in Kansas city.

That strut into the end zone was badass!

I still have his jersey in my closet, hasn't fit me in YEARS! KC remembers you Priest.
Haha same here I make it fit lol
Wish most young men today had fathers like him.
I love, love, loved the Priest Holmes era!
Loved to watch Holmes play but never saw him in an interview. I was missing out because he’s a great interview.
This needs wayyy more views

He was sensational. An electric back who shined on the biggest stage.

Love this dude.....
I remember how good he was.. When Merriman knocked him out in 2005 .. I felt for him ..
What a great dude.
Brilliant
What an unbelievable player!
Thank you Charlie Sheen for interviewing Priest Holmes
Lmao dude 😂

Give this man his flowers.
Such a stud.
I PLAYED ALONGSIDE PRIEST HOLMES WAY BACK IN SOUTHWEST MIDDLE SCHOOL 6th grade DRAGONS TO INCLUDE COY DETMER TY DETMERS LITTLE BROTHER.
That’s awesome dude
What was he like?
And yes we wanted him to stay in KC and he will always be a part of us
Awsome dude
Hall of fame is a joke without him.
He deserves his spot in the hall. Less productive rbs got in. So why not him?
Empathy! But good segment
Glad I never played football. Love watching it but not worth the risk
Just imagine the amount of damage his body has taken since playing high school football 😢
