1. In a flat belt drive, angle of contact is 170° and co-efficient of friction between pulley and belt material is 0.2. Find out belt tension ratio. If Tension on slack side is 2 kN, what is tension on slack side?
2. In a flat belt drive, the maximum safe tension is 1.5 kN. Arc of contact is 170° and co-efficient of friction between pulley and belt is 0.27. Find out net tension.
3.In a flat belt drive, tension on tight side is 1200 N. Arc of contact = 160°, co-efficient of friction is 0.2. Find out net tension and initial tension.
4. The speed of belt is 540 m/min in a flat belt drive. The maximum safe tension is 2100 N. Tension ratio is 2.63. Find out power transmission by this drive.
5. In a belt drive tight side tension is 2780 N and the ratio of belt tensions is 2.78. if the linear velocity of belt is 100 m/min. then find the power transmitted by the belt drive.
6. In a belt drive tight side tension is 2500 N and the ratio of belt tensions is 2.78. if the linear velocity of belt is 720 m/min. then find the power transmitted by the belt drive.
7. In a flat belt drive, the maximum tension is 1 kN. Arc of contact = 170°, co-efficient of friction is 0.25. Pulley rotates at 200 rpm. Diameter of pulley is 450 mm. Find out power transmitted by belt drive.
8. A pulley, 1.5 m diameter is rotating at 300 rpm and transmits 35 kW power through a flat belt. The angle of contact is 11/24th of its circumference. If the coefficient of friction between the belt and the pulley is 0.3, find the values of the tension in the tight and slack sides.In a flat belt drive
9. From the following data for the open belt drive, find the required width and initial tension in the belt. Diameter of pulley = 500 mm. Arc of contat = 3 rad. Co-efficient of friction = 0.4. Power transmitted = 3.7 kW. Speed = 360 rpm, Safe tension in the belt [T] = 10 N/mm width.
10. A 1-meter diameter pulley rotating at 180 rpm transmits 1036 watt power. Lap angle is 170° and coefficient of friction is 0.25. Find the belt width if belt tension is not exceed 10 N/mm of belt width. Neglect centrifugal tension.
