Anybody else miss him a little less funky and cleaner ala Brown Sugar? That album was perfection. I didn't enjoy voodoo as much and he's still funky. I just miss the quartetish, blunt smoking in a jazz cafe D.

Ironically it was due to be released in 1999 but the release date got pushed back. Like Terence Trent D'Arby's Wildcard, it was made in the 90s.

i agree. Voodoo sounds like one big jam session, and that’s fantastic if it’s your thing! but for me, I’m a fan of his more traditional r&b stuff.
