Funny emmanuel Gouri , I was just thinking about how much I missed Troutman tonight...I use to work in radio...that is where I met him...he was NOTHING but a gentleman and a genuine lover of people...an ear for me (the brother I never had) at a very difficult time/season in my life...my heart hurts that he is gone... "legend" yes...but more than that...a man...I know God was happy to welcome home... God bless
No, he said it was his last show because he was starting a new career. It had nothing to do with him knowing he was gonna die or else he would have said such a thing. You are looking into this way too much or wasn't listening to what he said afterwards.

Nah' has wasn't trying to look or talk like a Pimp, that is just the charisma of blacks of his generation.. not to mention he was from the mid west Ohio, Detroit and Chicago cats are vary well known for dressing like he did.

What a wonderful treasure to discover in your archives! Thank you for sharing this. When MORE BOUNCE came out, it was the hottest song on the planet! In Cincinnati, we love everything ROGER put out! I met Terry years later at WCIN, we had a wonderful conversation, and he gave me a copy of the first new ZAPP CD honoring ROGER.
Roger&Zapp were among the first 'Groups' we turned our beaming attention to when the whole affair really made landfall here in Munich around 1983. I also saw them twice over here. Wearing all kinds of wide suit to 'Troop' jackets we innocuous Bavarian chaps were ultra positively brainwashed by this miracle of sound, style and energy. It must have been extraordinary to watch how we morphed into movin', groovin', bouncin', Black beat afficionados. Gathering point was the 'Community club' at the McGraw american forces area, where we even paid in Dollars 😊. Discovering this clip I yesterday went through some Zapp recordings and at sixty I still remember every beat and voice from endless nights of mixing trials. All of this was THE musical revolution of my time and to me amongst the finest things ever to come out of America. Thanks for all that velvet dreams of being free ❤
Thanks for posting this up Tiffany! I always liked the funky sounds of Zapp and Roger. I like funk rock music and they were some of the innovators of it along with Clinton and Bootzy! I'm mostly a rock guy, but I have to give a shout out to the masters of funk! Great interview! By the way, I have to thank the D.J. at the Skate zone for introducing me to Zapp and Roger YEARS ago! Kudos to him! lol
John Reynolds Agreed i grew up on Zapp, Parliament, Funkadelic. Roger and Bootsy were like childhood friends. They both made each other a promise that whoever was the first to get signed to major label the other would come back & put him on. When Bootsy got a second chance with George Clinton he honored that promise...
I think he didn't have to do music anymore could have just made appearances and got paid for it he set that table for himself like that or produce music and collect royalties for samples that rappers use in there karaoke he was awesome and the man had rhythm meaning he can dance he turned those shows out in his time such a genius cut short.

He wanted to break away from his brother's management and for that his brother shot him in the back twice and in the chest twice as he got out of his brother's car. Such a shame! Some people want you to carry them through life forever. Larry most likely was mis managing the $$$..💔💔🥺🥺😪😪
