The 2021 US Open saw Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Great Britain's Emma Raducanu claim the men's and women's singles titles. I watched this clip again and couldn’t believe how well Emma read Sakari’s serves. She moved to the direction right after Sakari tossed the ball and returned them beautifully. Her court awareness is unbelievable. No wonder she won.

Emma's reaction by dropping her racket when she won was epic. Her hands over her head in a state of fairy tale unbelievable moment reminded me of the GOAT in football, Tom Brady when he won his first ring. I got that same feeling with Emma Raducanu. She will become the goat of tennis imo

Oddly similar trajectory. Tom gets his break when Bledsoe was taken out, gets the Pats to the playoffs, then wins his 1st SB in his 2nd season
Emma only gets into her first GS at Wimbledon via a wild card, gets to the 4th round, then enters her 2nd GS at the US Open and wins.
Let's hope she has as many GS Final wins and appearances as TB12 does SBs so far.

Been watching Emma for a little while now, and she play a bit like Andy Murray, prepared to run down every ball and never appears off balance. Love that beautiful smile too, no wonder young people clamored to have pictures taken at the end of her matches. So very authentic and totally focused. Hope thousands of young girls take to the courts and follow in Emma's footprints. Tennis really can be this joyous. Sublime. Life will change now but I hope you will still be accessible. Her mental strength to forget the point she’s played and focus on the next one. She did that to everyone she played, dismantled Rogers who’d just beaten Ash Barty, dismantled Bencic Olympic champ, ripped apart Sakkari most in-form player this year & then dominates the final against someone who beat Kerber & Osaka. It is absolutely extraordinary what she achieved and I don’t think you can say that Sakkari’s poor performance was the reason she lost, just like with all the others she beat.
