Install more SATA ports on a Computer

Hello IT Pros, this is Alvendril! In this Video, "Install more SATA ports on a Computer", I show how to add more SATA ports on a desktop computer. For that I use a PCIe card. After all is install correctly, I login in windows 10 and check if all the SSDs are detected. Hope it helps!

this is useful because i have a mini tower from state surplus, and i use my dvd rw drive and the two hdds, but i only have 3 sata connectors on the board, very very useful
edit: i forgot to mention i have a 4tb hdd lying around

In my tests in a Dell optiplex 3050 It worked only on Windows.
It didn't work in bios.
I can't boot the SATA device (HDD, SSD) connected to this card. Is there any way to configure it in BIOS?

Thank you sir, for sharing your knowledge. Perhaps you might advise me on a similar sata expansion card that I am having a problem with? It is manufactured by ASMEDIA (ASM1064/116x). It has worked (offf and on) with the drives that are hooked up to it. The problem it has ALWAYS presented is a very long delay when it tries to identify my drives that are hooked to it. Usually it takes at least 15 minutes. Is there anything I should do with my motherboard's bios settings? Thank you!

All motherboards sata pins are broken.what chanses do i have to place my main hdd on PCI and bios recognise it? It's old.

I would assume not as a 1x pcie slot can be anywhere from 1 - 3 gb/s compared to direct SATAs 6gb/s

Yes, just don't put to many spliters because you don't want to overload your powersupply

I can not see the additional drive on bios, but its appeared in windows. So I can't choose it as boot drive. any advice?

@@theinel just put the ssd/hdd you want to boot from directly to your motherboard
