How to Change Your Car's Oil and Oil Filter | Kia Rio - Hyundai Accent

This is how to change the oil in a kia rio UB. This is also the same process to change the oil in a kia soul, veloster or hyundai accent and many other vehicles that have the 1.6 liter engine. Changing the oil is the single most important thing to maintain your motor. I am using STP Dexos full synthetic motor oil and a ford motorcraft oil filter. You will need a 10 mm socket to remove the plastic cover under your car and a 17mm socket to remove the oil drain plug. I used a 2 7/8'' - 3 1/4" oil filter wrench.

Use a gallon ziplock bag and cover the filter with it then twist it off...The oil goes in the bag...Easy peezy...

Nice job, hey what oil filter have you use? because i have change my oil to another service and is making a strange noise i motor, i try to change it my self but is making the same noise. I realyse i have use rong oil a 5w30 in steed of 5w20, but im wondering if is a special oil filter as well.

Remove the fill cap and you won't get vacuum and it's best practice to replace the drain plug every other change, ~8k mi
