Honestly, I've played WoW as a casual, but Star Wars Galaxies back in the day as a hardcore. (the original design, too, back in the 2000s...) And... You make a good point about prime time. Cyrodiil is dead a huge amount of the time, which reinforces ZOS’ ignoring of Cyrodiil… then the cycle continues because people won’t play Cyrodiil because it isn’t updated and performance sucks bc zos ignores jt. I personally think zos needs to make more solo /duo content(I’d love a solo duo mode for dungeons), overland harder, and a second or third IA. I kinda see ZOS’ point on the new areas being scaled back. Man, west weld is dead. So many times I tried to solo a world boss there because no one was around during off hours. Just a massive game without a lot of players it seems. ZOS should fix and improve what they already have so people who own the game come back to something better.
@@Spezies I meant making a solo mode for the dungeons already available. This would take out all 4 person mechanics and allow solo players to beat these dungeons by themselves - and enjoy the stories and quests that go with them.
I've only been playing for 6 months on Xbox and am curious about some of the proposed 2025 things, such as the increased overland difficulty. I don't think I'd have a lot of problems with getting around, but why? While I'm new to ESO, I'm a veteran of MMO's in general, and it seems like the people always asking for high difficulty everywhere are also not the type of players to even be in those areas for the most part. In ESO, they will be spending the majority of their time in dungeons, trials, infinite archive, and possibly PvP. They aren't the types of players interested in roaming about doing all the quests, harvesting, and fishing, at least once they have the related achievements. Then these players are out of the area leaving the more laid back players with a lot of annoying mechanics to maneuver around in those areas. Then there is the comment about making more zones like Craglorn. When I got to Craglorn, primarily because an event sent me there, I attempted to do some of the quests while I was there, and was surprised about how different the zone was with group areas and mobs roaming about everywhere. I went and read up on the zone and found out it was largely experimental and turned out to largely be a failure with the population at large. And now ZOS plans to make more Craglorn-type zones? Doesn't make much sense to me, but whatever! Sounds like it will be more group areas that will be nearly impossible to do unless an event attracts other players there, and then will be relatively empty the rest of the time once the current players have all the things.
"it seems like the people always asking for high difficulty everywhere are also not the type of players to even be in those areas for the most part." They arent in those areas bc they are boring and majority of players that have played for a bit have already done all of the overworld content so they have no reason to be in those areas. making those areas more challenging would give them a bit more reason to explore the overworld of the game again and make that content feel a bit more meaningful. "They aren't the types of players interested in roaming about doing all the quests, harvesting, and fishing" These things you listed are all base level things that anybody that has played for a while doesnt go out of their way to do or just does it as a side thing not their entire play session. like everyone gets materials thru writs/surveys so your only going to see majority of ppl getting materials thru those. they arent going to be out farming materials for fun and/or fishing is the same thing. people will fish for something like master angler but majority of players unless they really like fishing for some reason arent going to engage with that system bc there isnt anything to it and its not really content, its a side thing to do. Craglorn was just weird bc it was an outlier and eso has NEVER incentivized players to actually play with one and another so when you introduce a group area and never do anything to get players to actually group up and engage with that content and you never give them a reason to then the players just wont ever do it. also craglorn when it released was MUCH harder bc areas used to actually have their own levels so you couldnt go to craglorn unless you were a really high level and damage/tankiness/sustain was all a lot lower so it wasnt something you were going to do alone
Same thing I've been saying about the quick updates. You have every other studio, even freaking Palworld issuing fixes every few weeks for the game breaking bugs. ZOS meanwhile takes between 6mo-never. They're stuck in combat irl.
I have wondered this myself. They obviously make lots of money it makes no sense that they can’t fix things in a quick manner. Do they have like only 2 developers or what’s up? ESO is a mess and they caused it
rapid strikes has had the worst downgrade I've ever seen. The animation is so bad I refuse to use the skill. Also the sound and animation don't even go together.
A lot of people have seen this inevitably coming especially if you play cyrodil often, the constant server degradation was one bad update away from crumbling and it sucks because this game has massive potential, the gohan of MMOs lol
It comes back to them actually playing the game, it's an ongoing problem. You can see it when they make posts like this, bring back animation canceling bring back what made eso eso, you could do so much more back in the day now you can barely cast skills in any part of the game. Who are they talking too I'm curious which players are they listening to
They did it before, just do it again - just do not restrict players by alliance and levels this time, when they did that it created really empty zones.
I can see how they reach the conclusion that Cyrodil is so bad they need to start from scratch 😂😂 my favorite part of eso is having to reloadui mid fight
I think the last few updates to Cyrodiil were reducing the population, the bridges, gates, goat paths, opening up rss towers by removing doors, making them indestructible, and the addition of outposts. So it’s really been years since a noteworthy update😂😂.
You're response is very apathic and pretty much the same way most of casuals vibe. If we lose this game it's like 'yeah, whatever'. Theres so much out there to try out for couple of lifetimes.
ive played eso for a decade, have tens of thousands of hours in the game and have anything i could ever want. ive done it all and the game has just steadily gone downhill over the years and we've been trying to get ZOS to do anything to help the game for years and they never listened so, its just me getting any feelings out. i love the game but gotta be real about it in the end
There is really no alternative to ESO. I tried to find an alternative. I tried New world after it came to consoles. It was fun for the first two weeks but the gameplay simply lacks the depth of content that ESO has. I tried Final Fantasy online, and found it to be even more dated in terms of graphics than ESO is. I play Black desert online, and while there are some awesome things about it, I doubt that it can compete with ESO for casual gamers. There are simply no MMO games available now at the level of ESO.
@@zaneshark What do you like about ESO? Maybe the answer lies in single player games? If you could state what you are seeking, maybe I would have any ideas or suggestions.
"Improving the overall feel of combat with animation, FX, and potentially audio work." Yeah... we've already seen what they are capable of. Just put on a scribing banner end "enjoy" the FX and the sound. Maybe we should secretly look for another MMO in 2025, just in case... like a plan B Edit: If they don't seriously look into drop chances and the amount/quality of loot (materials, gear, gold), upping the difficulty will only upping the grind... ESO has already a toxic speedrun comunity in EVERYTHING they do, and I kinda get that, because of the grind. You just want to get the shit done fast.
Cyrodill changes sound like FF14 PVP... Honestly it sounds like ZOS is at a creative dead end in regard of where they want to go and what to do... rather sad to see
Its crazy that, they literally never have listened to the community. The fact that, to this day, something as simple as over world difficulty level, basically power scaling enemies, is still not in the game, is wild. Take the division for example. You have the base generic level. And if you want a better chance at loot, you up the difficulty. And you still play with the same people in the server. And each individual persons world difficulty, is an experience for themselves. But its whatever now. The next issue is, the game is literally builts, originally, to get the player ready for cyrodil. And yet, they have caved that experience. Decided to concentrate on pve. Which wouldnt have been a huge issue, IF, they actually delivered an engaging experience. Also, if they want to go back to og cyrodil, theyd need to revert the instance limit back to like 500 players per alliance. Good times 😂. Lots of crashes. Crazy war. After the entire stream drama, and seeing the incompetence of the developer in charge of the pvp, I highly doubt they will recover Now, the game is still salvageable, but they have to start listening to the community and stop doing whatever they want. They xan easily keep the game running an extra 10 years if they simply listen.
Sounds like alot of girls are in development talking about feelings. Lol to put it in perspective they think a card game was a good idea lol people don't play a full card game called yu gi oh why would they play an eso version? Lol pvp is about killing and being killed getting better anything else is stupid these mythics were a bad idea hybridizing everything was a bad idea changing core skills bad idea scribe skills bad idea stuns and immobilization out the ass automatically making arcanist not needed and since you gotta keep buying these things people who have more money will automatically be stronger the game has become a grind just to get back to how it was in 2016 and no one not one person wants to farm for months just to get nerfed which always happens you don't need to be balanced if you earned what you got.....and the more they nerf it effects anyone new because anyone who's been playing 10 years will just make another build new players won't and will quit lol
Craglorn rose tinted glasses players ask "why isn't there group overland stuff like Craglorn used to be".... because. Craglorn when it was new "This sucks, why do I have to group/I don't have people to group with/not enough players in zone/noobs keep failing the mechanic" ... imagine that now the game has even more zones and dungeons fragmenting the players. MMOs are games with many players, not games where you are forced to make friends.
This game best performance was when it came out. they should stay away from price sets, so many AOEs skills. So many sets with so many actions. Everything they added to make money killed the game. Also Shante the core of how the game was and felt back in the day. They would made more money if they had done cosmetic crap lot of the pve players would love that
oh and the dev team has one of the fastest response times i’ve seen and the actually listen unlike zos i have over 5000 hours in ESO i hate it too but game is dog water now
@Nessaiga and yet it's falling apart. Why is that? It's been ten years; they're creatively drained. There is an entire segment of their playerbase that they have failed to appease all while actively ignoring them. It is impossible to please everyone and they do not handle this age of outrage very well, especially "community" managers who can't put aside their biases while interacting with the "community" that they opted to cater too. Why should an MMO or any game last 10+ years? Just because WoW has? WoW had to bring classic back just to rejuvenate interest from a segment of its playerbase. They both have had to introduce predatory monetization schemes to keep their respective playerbases addicted to their digital second life. These forever games are like an abusive relationship where the player feels obligated to keep playing because its all they have been playing for 10 years. How many players have also spent an absurd amount of money, so feel that they can't stop playing? At some point, ZOS is going to have to move on. At some point, the playerbase is going to have to move on. What does that look like now? What's the psychological effect of it? If anything, the sociology and psychology of it is intriguing and worrying.
Well, no more "next chapter" coming, so no one can make "hype video" :D And to be honest, ESO has usually only anti-hype and frustration when people see patch notes/pts notes, so there is that. Usually they only destroy any last remnants of cool skills and sets always and bring only anti-hype because new stuff is almost guaranteed to be just lame.
Dude, you are super negative.. That was just one massive whinge.. You're clearly bummed out so spend your time elsewhere. You didn't have a single positive thing to say about any of it. Moving the game away from the current formula of some story, two dungeons and a trial has to be worth exploring. Additionally, harder overland content and smaller group zones is also a promising endeavour. PvP has been widely criticised for its issues for years. Give them a chance to try some stuff out. What you seem to dislike is change! See what they come up with then whinge if its a fail

3 years until its all gone
It's literally unplayable for a significant minority who can't even stay logged in for more than a few minutes at a time.
@@samuraichicken2315Alright then it seems like it has 2yrs max if it's that bad
Do you think that's a possibility? Ummm surely they can keep the game on maintenance mode at least...
thy too busy cruising around the world with our money, now if tht money could go bck into the game, that would do wonders
I hope I’m wrong but this seems like a negative change.
Reminds me of jagex back in 2008 when they changed runescape combat and the game tanked so hard they had to bring back old school runescape
Who are they talking too I'm curious which players are they listening to
For the overland difficulty, there should be two different instances normal/veteran but I don’t know how that would work
They did it before, just do it again - just do not restrict players by alliance and levels this time, when they did that it created really empty zones.
You're a committed doomsayer.
ah yes criticizing eso for valid things makes me a doomer, that makes sense.
What clown wants Stros mkai mat farming to feel like a Vet DLC trial??
I can see how they reach the conclusion that Cyrodil is so bad they need to start from scratch 😂😂 my favorite part of eso is having to reloadui mid fight
Imagine if they said these are the skills your class can only use now and these are the sets. PvP would be dead. ESO PvP would die immediately
I think the last few updates to Cyrodiil were reducing the population, the bridges, gates, goat paths, opening up rss towers by removing doors, making them indestructible, and the addition of outposts. So it’s really been years since a noteworthy update😂😂.
Maintenance mode, that's what it means
Was a good run. Great video
That new campaign will be so fun!…. Oh wait look at bgs
"Improving the overall feel of combat with animation, FX, and potentially audio work."
Yeah... we've already seen what they are capable of. Just put on a scribing banner end "enjoy" the FX and the sound.
Maybe we should secretly look for another MMO in 2025, just in case... like a plan B
Edit:
If they don't seriously look into drop chances and the amount/quality of loot (materials, gear, gold), upping the difficulty will only upping the grind...
Crazy war.
After the entire stream drama, and seeing the incompetence of the developer in charge of the pvp, I highly doubt they will recover
Now, the game is still salvageable, but they have to start listening to the community and stop doing whatever they want.
They xan easily keep the game running an extra 10 years if they simply listen.
They just made us pay to make new skills in gold road… now they’re talking about taking that away….😂
They would made more money if they had done cosmetic crap lot of the pve players would love that
You’re entire take on PvP made no sense
They didn’t say they’d put fixed skills on the bar. Pulled that out of nowhere
After the BS one tamriel update this will be the second step to the death of eso... mark my word
Bro get on throne and liberty it has the same playstyle as eso and you can play on controller
oh and the dev team has one of the fastest response times i’ve seen and the actually listen unlike zos i have over 5000 hours in ESO i hate it too but game is dog water now
well i think it all sounds nice
The only reasonable pvp in mmorpgs with mid balancing is New World and WoW. Otherwise don't bother with pvp in mmorpgs.
Difficulty will be an optional toggle, like in LotRO. Other than that, agree with all your points 👍
Just get rid of the level scaling and focus bit more on cyrodiil
Developers need to stop this 10 year/forever content cycle. They shouldve made a new game 5 years ago.
its an MMO ands thats how MMOs are designed. they create a world for you to get invested in and they keep in going as long as they can
@Nessaiga and yet it's falling apart.
They can’t even fix the Stam bug in cyrodil full of shit
Every year some doomer makes an ESO is falling apart/ESO is dying video and then next year is making a hype video for the next chapter....
And every year ESO has less players. The player base on the Xbox servers has dropped off significantly since I started in 2020.
It is falling apart, their player base getting smaller and smaller. 😅 cope harder bro
might want to look at how many content creators even cover this game anymore
I Miss ur streams bro
Oh look another eso content creator crybaby video.
The game is very active on consoles, theres alot of players everywhere so it might be a pc issue.
yea no, look at actual popular games population and its MUCH higher then eso. in eso you dont see people walking around in random zones, only popular dlc towns for writs and pvp is a ghost town outside of primetime. i came from console and if you think this game is active... you might need to look at a game that is actually poppin at all times of the day lol
Not at all, do you even play this game? Like frfr, ps5 is way more broken compared to pc. Ps4 is literally unplayable around large groups. A lot of the EU players came over to NA because it has less problems. I could go on forever but I’m not sure you get it anyway. 😂😂
@@Nessaiga95% of gear is unusable/no longer viable, of course only popular towns are populated.
You really think people are gonna be farming stuff like necropotence and spinners ?
No, they are always gonna go for mothers sorrow or way of the dragon.
I play on Xbox NA and its popping all the way from 2pm to 9pm when most of the players log off.
I always check on all the traders in game every day and there's always 15+ people in non dlc areas and atleast 7+ people on dlc areas.
Again close to 0 in areas that dont give good enough loot, like hews bane and gold coast.
Not to mention craglorn for me its always populated in the town and a bunch of non bots getting nodes.
@@slickback_was_taken yea ps5 is more broken bc youre playing on a console lol. pc is also laggy during primetime the same as console but thats during primetime and none of this has to do with actual population numbers. cyrodiil is capped at 150 players per campaign. thats nothing compared to any active game, theres more people queuing for a match on cod in a single second at any given time on any given day then there is pvping on eso with all platforms combined
@@shinobi197 "I play on Xbox NA and its popping all the way from 2pm to 9pm when most of the players log off." so the game is dead outside of certain hours of the day. does that sound like a healthy game with a high population?
"I always check on all the traders in game every day and there's always 15+ people in non dlc areas and atleast 7+ people on dlc areas." do you think thats a lot of people? have you looked at any other popular game released in the past decade? those numbers are pitiful
Do you have any idea how entitled you sound? Any clue? NOT FOLLOWING
once you put Woke crap in games ,they fall apart, Junk 😝
Has nothing to do with that word
