It's not a natural toe shape at all. It may work fine for shoes since people tend to buy shoes with a comfort fit. On skates you want a close performance fit. Since people's big toes and maybe the toe next to it are the longest toes it makes zero sense to make a toe box that is shaped perfectly round like most skates are today. There are some shoes on the market called "barefoot" shoes that have a more natural shaped toe box. People like to make fun of them and say they look like clown shoes, but I think it would make a lot of sense to design a skate like that. People need to learn that it's not okay to wear something that pushes your big toe sideways. That's how you get bunnions.
