I am a descendant as well of John and Priscilla Mullins Alden. I also share Sir Richard Lygon of Madresfield, Worcestershire with you who was an ancestor of your immigrant Amy Wyllys and my Virginia ancestor Col. Thomas Ligon.

She was the granddaughter of the 7th Earl Beauchamp who was an active member of LFKA years ago and cultured a strong relationship with the American Ligons who were mostly in Virginia and the Southern states like my family. The Ligon Association is hosted every ten years at Madresfield Court, Worcs. England and this year was to be the year but was cancelled due to Covid. They are talking about scheduling next year.
A suggestion for all of my newly found relatives. the time to go to Duxbury and see the Alden Homestead I had a wonderful tour of it several years ago and would love to go back there.
The Alden and Standish families had some of their children marry years later. My family trace back to both. So, we are cousins. My mother-in-law's line, my mother's side and my father's side trace back to the Mayflower and Plymouth Colony. My mother's side also traces back to James Fort, later named Jamestown and Virginia Colony. Cousins everywhere! I'm surrounded by cousins!
I 'm related too, our family tree line always has a Miles as the first born son. Also our last name is Eaton, witch is the name of the couple in the second marriage in the new world. No relation.
I was on a zoom meeting for a family birthday celebration and my mom had slide show and that’s when I found out I was related I think I’m related on the one son Alexander if my memory serves me right.I mean she does have my nose 🤣
Hello would you know the connection of the Besse family to the Alden’s? One of my great grandmothers Rebecca Blunt Besse has a son named Alden Cincinnatus Besse in his information it says he was named after a Decedent from the Mayflower being Captain Alden on his mother’s side. I have been trying to find the connection in between the gap of information we are able to find. If you have any wisdom on this I and my aunt who sent me your video would love to speak with you. Greg may be a descendant as I am (proven) but he should know that Longfellow's poem was fictional. see the official Mayflower page on Alden at mayflowerhistory.com/alden/ There are many descendants of that marriage and many claim to be so. Proving it is another thing. It takes a lot of work and expense and time. Disappointing to watch and hear such a confusion of fact with fiction.
I am a descendant through their eldest daughter, Elizabeth. I used to think I was the 14th great granddaughter but genealogy improvements have shown that it is less than that, like 11th or something. The genealogical line then went through the William Redfield line.
John and Priscilla are my 9th great grandparents as well. So honored to come from such fine people.
