Hello, Cousin! The Edwardeses/Edwardses have a proud heritage even without Henry in it: very intelligent, adventurous, courageous. One was a peer of Ben Franklin; one a great friend of George Washington; one was one of the most intelligent people known; one of us, Amelia Edwards, was at the forefront of the Egyptomania craze, and one inspired the Great Awakening. Richard Edwardes himself was said to be in the same class as Shakespeare. The Royals furnished Richard with the cloth needed to make mourning clothes for Mary's funeral, which seems legit...thanks for this video. Someone truly needs to write a well researched book on this subject. What a great mystery!
Same here. My mom's paternal line is all Edwards. First to come from Wales around 1750 was John Edwards. We are in Chicago for 4 generations, before that 2-3 Edwards generations in Wisconsin, before that several in Huntingdon and Bedford, PA. Seems they branched out originally in the USA to PA and NC. The last males in my family with the surname Edwards are my uncles, both of who have daughters. Thanks for the extra info in your video on Richard, the extra research was great!
Richard is my 16th great grandfather, same as many here. To act as thought Henry just resigned himself to 'Oh, I have a son I'll ignore' is to completely dismiss everything history has told us about Henry and the steps and lengths he'd have taken to put a son on the throne. Legitimate or not.

Just discovered Edwardes in my Ancestry tree. Through my grandmother, I am related to the Edwardes who came to Jamestowne Colony and settled Virginia
