- A mix of various interesting, unusual and different police cars, law enforcement, emergency vehicles, diplomatic cars and hired vehicles being used in New York City during United Nations week. Hundreds of world leaders were present, requiring a large security response.
These vehicles aren't just in use with the New York Police Department (NYPD), but US Secret Service, Diplomatic Security Service and many other local, state and federal security agencies.

Vehicles with blue lights to the front are Federal with some State Police.
Vehicles with only magnetic mini bars on the roof are rentals.

NY State police (or any other NY law enforcement) do not have front blue lights. In NY those are for volunteer firefighters. All full-time emergency vehicles have red/white front lights.
So only the feds run red/blue as they have an exception.

It looks like a rental. I used to work at a rental agency in suburban NYC and the Secret Service would rent all types of vehicles and throw lights in them lol.
It appears to be a 2019 SXT AWD. Yea a V8 would be better but still it's cool to see them use an unusual car.
Probably about the same as long as those other two had a v6 as well. The challenger would probably look cooler though haha

@@CivilStigyes...we need to TRANSITION at a REASONABLE rate. Hybrids then all electric as the capacity improves. This all battery by 2030 is impossible. The democrats know this but do not care. That's the better question, why are they so hell bent on overloading the grid?

A lot of those guys use their personal cars for patrolling.
Oh yeah Hawaii is really different for cop cars.
HPD after 6 years on the force - can use your personal car. Oahu is way smaller than NYC so they wanna keep cars down. I was born n raised on Oahu west side.

Great job, CobraEmergency! Going international, now! I am surprised to see a Crown Victoria still in use considering the Police Interceptor was last manufactured in 2011, but obviously properly maintained with relatively limited use, unlimited supply of parts, and for something in use for so long, hard to give up old habits / if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. It would be interesting what agencies are using these vehicles. I would guess most are primarily NYPD or Feds, but likely some foreign delegation's personal security as well. The opening of the UN in September must be hell week in NY each year, especially trying to access anything around First Avenue. Not for me! But for emergency vehicle spotting, a delight! Thank you.

Hate those LEDS. They look totally ridiculous. Moreover, they make the vehicle itself visible, but so did the Halogen rotating lights. But the halogen rotating lights also grabbed your attention and drew your eyes to the source. Those LEDS aren't even noticed unless looking right at them. And all you see are blinding flashes. I really wish they'd go away. As horrible as those Xenon Strobe lights too.

Flashing (strobing) lights (and sirens) are for emergencies. These fools are just playing themselves by using them so unnecessarily. People become desensitised when they are used like this, so the next time there is a real emergency, people won't move out of the way. Well done, absolutely brilliant move!

Interesting fact that every single Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger are exclusivly built in Canada, (as was the Ford Crown Vic). If the VIN starts with a 2, you know it won't break down.

Most of those unmarked are the regular vehicle enforcement regular issue vehicles for my former state agency

I got a speeding ticket coming out of the tunnel at the very beginning. I was driving a rental van to my apartment to pick up some shit I was moving, the tunnel has a 25 mph speed limit and of course I was going 40. That 15+ got it bumped up to like 6 points on my license
