Mushroom Plug Motorcycle Tire Repair Kit

Using a Stop & Go mushroom plug tire repair kit on a motorcycle tire. This kit is designed for tubeless tires and it is generally used as a temporary repair. I am only demonstrating how to use the repair kit. I am not endorsing or recommending the use of the kit as a replacement for a professional or permanent tire repair. Didn't work for me twice.....straight to the garbage. I was so mad. I did it per instruction to the T. You could hear the leak and it was just a small screw. Went and ordered the old fashion glued ropes with complete kit in a case.

I don't like the hole stretcher tools that have teeth on them, you can hear it cutting the steel lines in the tire, this will eventually cause the tire to loose its shape and possibly get an S-bend in it. Just use a tapered pic type tool to open up the hole and spread those steel lines away not cut them, also put rubber cement on the pic to lube it up for the plug to come in and seal it after.

A really good idea - until the kit sits under your seat or in your toolbox for a few years, and the little rubber "mushroom" plugs harden up..

How come they don't use glue instead of oil as lubricant? With glue like other types of repair kit it should be a permanent repair. Edit: maybe it'll be hard to clean the tool

Should you consider changing the tire if you have had to repair it like this? Or would it be fine to continue riding until the tire wears down?

It probably depends on how bad the damage was. I would have a tire shop have a look at the tire after a repair like this, just to be safe.

Doesn’t work 9 times out of 10- waste of money and worse still, you think you have a repair option which doesn’t work out on the road when you desperately need it. Rubbish bin for me also.

Don’t waste you money just buy soft sticky plugs way better and cheaper
