I love you Holly. Even when you are anxious about doctors, you have a wonderful sense of humor. Praying for you and Tom with your procedures and recovery time. Oh gee, make my eyes water, first thing in the morning! The message from Emerson brought tears to my eyes! I have several "muddle" children in my family and they are all do very much more appreciative if the little things than the eldest or baby. I'm glad you have thst connection with Emerson! I have one with my grandson who at 16 still willingly gives the best hugs!

I loved Emerson fish quilt. My fil use to wear the most outrageous fish ties. And it was so much fun. Knowing you are loved by a grand is the best feeling ever. And that they feel the love in what you made is one step away from heaven. ❤ That is the best.

Wow super sweet. I have been doing a surprise quilt every year for someone who became known to me that year, or a longtime friend. So this years surprise was to a family friend of my parents and also of mine for his 80th bday. I put all fabric for all,of his interests and hobbies, he is a character. He told me a few weeks after he and the family love it, and it is one of the most amazing gifts he has ever received, he said with my fabric choices it was like I knew him for 100 years, he likes cars, and bikes and canadiana and a gun and wartime collector…. He said he never realized before how impactful receiving a quilt would be. Was super happy to hear that, makes your heart sing.

First, I’m glad Tom is doing well and hopefully the whole experience is behind him, next, THANK YOU for getting your colonoscopy!!!! It’s not a party, but it serious saved my life earlier this year. I love you for doing this. And I have a grandson that also gives fantabulous hugs and Emerson’s love for his quilt fave me tears and warm fuzzies!! The Ginger Quilter box is gorgeous!!! Emerson is very perceptive. For so young, he realized the love that was poured into it as you were making it. It was very touching. I’m glad all went well with Tom’s procedure. Yes prep for colonoscopies are such a joy. lol. Unfortunately I feel the same when it seems like it’s one appointment after another. I just want to be home. Have a great weekend

Hello Holly! Glad to hear that Tom is doing well after his procedure. And Emerson? How wonderful that your quilt is a continual hug. I am pretty sure he is not a sewing snob. The love you put into his quilt is what he wanted. About the colonoscopy, They are not as hard as I expected. I will send good vibes that they don't find anything to be concerned about. Take care and see you next week unless you have something special come up.
The worst part is the fasting and drinking the stuff and empty out your bowels in the bathroom. After the procedure, go eat, and all will be fine.

Good morning and happy Thor's Day! I hope everyone's day is kind to them.
I really like the Horizon Blue (and the orange that they sent last month, too) in the Creekside box this month. Much better than the colors that were sent in the first couple of months, that's all just a matter of opinion, isn't it? Of course there are people who are going to like the earlier pastel shades more than the recent deeper tones. The snips are so cute, although they could do with a bit of sharpening, for all that they are pleasing to the eye. (The pink ones you received are pretty, but I'm very glad that the ones I got are green 🙂)
Watching your delight over the glitter scissors brought a smile to my face. Sometimes it really is the small things that mean the most. The quilt pattern looks quite interesting, and I love the fabrics (especially the brighter purple with the pink undertones). The little crosses really do resemble twinkling stars in the evening sky. The keychain isn't my style, however I very much appreciate how the colors in it go so well with the fabrics; it's another one of those little thoughtful details that help a box to stand out. And it's cute how the fringe makes it look like the rainbow is sitting on top of a big, fluffy cloud.
I realized recently that you asked us all in an earlier video what we do with our thread snippets, and I didn't answer it in my comment that day. What I do is, I have two little wastebaskets in my sewing room. One is near my cutting area, and one is to the left of my chair at the sewing table. That way no matter where I am, I can easily just reach over without even looking and drop the snippets & fabric crumbs directly onto the carpet next to a trash can. True, occasionally a piece will somehow manage to land *in* the wastebasket, but that's rare and easily dealt with, LOL.
Love Emerson's response to your quilt. Glad your hubby is doing better, praying all those pieces come out and that he has zero future issues. I just got prepped for a crown so I had those nerves going too. Hope things settle down for you soon. Hugs!

Hey Charolett! Forgive me for not knowing, but where are you located? Tom has lots of family in the Houston area and have had extensive damage. I don't how they handle the heat. Ugh. It's super humid here, but sunny for the moment.

I loved your story about the quilt. I made one for my niece's wedding, however it took me about 2 years to finish. The reason being I had a hip replacement that got infected and ended up with four surgeries. I was so nervous giving it to her it was not a very good job I've done so much better but I got it done and she absolutely loved it.❤😊
I love your enthusiasm over those lovely scissors. My bindings aren't perfect either, but the grandkids don't care, they like whatever I make, I just can't finish them fast enough.

Holly, I know it is easier to say it than practice it, but our mantra is. We don't worry till we know there is something to worry about. Colonosxopies are good things. They just spoon those little pesky polyps out. And if they are cancerous, then they are caught early.
That said, I am glad Tom's procedure went well. My brother had that done once.
Remember to take a nap today. Zone out.
We are sweltering here in 109. We are 105 or 106 every day for the next week. Smoky skies in the Valley. It is fire season. Global warming. This was not a yearly phenomenon when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s. However, it is a yearly thing now. We go camping in the spring to beat the fires.

The Ginger box fabrics were really close to matching the key chain - just needed a pale pink instead of the bright pink. Nice box, cool scissors. Reminds me of the Fickle Finger of Fate and are pretty enough to be a trophy. Hang in there my friend.

That is 2 box I have never gotten. Not sure why not. We could do a color a month block ( next year ) if we know colors a couple weeks ahead of time. Glad Tim is better, I had one of those test s Holly a few years back, my Dr was late and I started tagging on him, next thing I knew they were waking me up it was over. The best sleep I had in years. What a sweet message about the quilt. Love those scissors. I am not a huge fan of the pattern, but I love this box overall. Very fun! Love the fabric too, so I would make the pattern with those fabrics. Yummy!
Hope all your medical appointments go smoothly. I hate colonoscopies (already had two by age 550, but the prep is worse than the procedure.

Im thinking instead of the snap you could put a Velcro circle to close the scissor case. Love the quilt pattern and fabrics.
joanne i was thinking the same thing! i love velcro circles … a couple of stitches and done and easy and much more cost effective. also the velcro will keep it closed if the scissors move around when you travel.
Glad things went well for Tom. I have to get a colonoscopy every 5 years due to family history.
