I appreciated your video. You started p1 very thorough and broke it down well. P2 felt rushed but I did pick up some good pointers. I do wish we could’ve seen the final product. Even if it took 3 days to finish the weekend Warriors such as myself like to see how it turned out. However very good job.
My bad. Maybe I’ll do another video when the weather is better
Super helpful video. I’ve been nervous about polishing. I will be using the v36 and v38 so to hear you discuss the product as well as the DA polisher was great. Hearing about the possible fatigue and the motion and just your honesty about the experience was definitely appreciated! Thank you! This video is helping me overcome my fears 😂
Good luck!
This was awesome, was wondering about chemical guys before buying, wanted to see perspective of a new person… thanks! Subscribed
Good video man!
Thanks!
Should've started out with V34 and a yellow pad. Moved to V36 and a orange pad. Then V38 and a white pad. Once you start using the V38 it's a huge difference! That's the most amazing final polish I have ever used! Get you some of that bro. Would have made a world of difference! Chemical Guys C4 and P4 is a great two step system as well. I always finish out with V38 though.
I started with v32 on the orange, then v36 and white, then v38 on the blue. For a car that has never been detailed in its 8 year life, it really needed that v32. I actually went through 2 whole vlay bars just on the hood too
Loved the video bro. Very informative and I was curious as to why you switched from the orange to white pad during the polishing?.
Orange for more aggressive liquids. White is a great finish with the v38
@@MatteoVlogs gotcha. Thanks man. I'm a beginner myself.
Awesome!
Can i use v36 with orange pad for windshield?
As a tip don’t use quick detailer for clay barring as it adds a super thin protection layer and your reasoning for polishing is to remove scratches. Quick detailer helps fill them in.
Quick detailer is fine but thanks for the input
@@MatteoVlogs Aight brotha’. I’m just giving you a tip from pros and other youtubers that have been doing it for 20+ years. You do you man.
Google it for yourself. There is no proven scientific studies done as to why you can’t use QDS as a lubricant. Even the most knowledge car detailers on TH-cam use quick detail spray while claying. Please show me some research and I’ll see your point of view

Meguiar's Quick Detailer would be fine, as would M34 Final Inspection.
Yes, the Gold Class, and Ultimate add a layer of protection. This causes the abrasives to get covered in the protectant, and clog up the pad, but it will eventually be removed.
I love how clear you are for the video! But for the pad are they reusable? Do you wash them after using or you tossing them out?
Yes hand wash them right after each use with a cleaner and brush
@@MatteoVlogs Perfect so during using the v34 in your video and you switch to stronger one v36 is okay to use the same pad?
Ya just wash it and make sure it’s not wet
@@MatteoVlogs Do you think the pad that we use to polish and the pad to use wax are the same material?
No
Both the Torqx and the Porter Cable are DA polishers. I don't believe they offer the Porter Cable kit anymore. Nice video. I wish you would have shown your finished product. I did buy the Torqx kit. I want to see if it will repair the oxidation on my little work car and make it easier to wax my big weekend ride.
Thanks
When polishing you always wanna go slower and I overlapping about about half way each time. Also make sure you’re doing passes till the product is clear. If it is hazing and its hard to buff off. That means the abrasives haven’t broken down and you need to do more passes
Ya I feel the chemical guys polishes don’t really break down tbh
@@MatteoVlogs I usually get them to break down pretty good. If its still too hard after 2 slow passes. Dampen a towel with A diluted ipa wide down or wax and oil remover.
Thanks bro
The chemical guys range has its place but sadly not if you need to do some serious correction, I was impressed by the range for one thing only... It works well for several passes and doesn't dry out easily BUT if you need a serious cut.. The 3m range is far superior.
Hello this is my first time that I going to do polish. The steps are:
1) Wash and clean your car
2) Use clay bar
3) start polish
Right?
And I apply V36 with orange pad first and then V38 with white light pad? Or it doesn’t matter what pad it use?
If you got tons of swirls and scratches the 36 might not do it. May need to go down to 32 or 34. Wherever you start, make sure you go up afterwords all the way up to 38. Orange pad is fine for 32, 34, 36. White/blue/red is fine for finish. Make sure to subscribe!
I don’t think you’re suppose to clean off the polishing compound in a circular motion bruh but shit big boy you keep doing your thang thanks for the video I’m debating on which polish to buy
It don’t matter bro
Do you have to use a sealant after polishing or are you done ?
If you’re going to be doing all this work the yes I would recommend. However; it’s not like you have to. Up to you
You do want to seal it especially after claying because the clay bar strips all waxes and protectants. After a polish the car is left with a fresh layer of paint and you want to seal that and protect the new paint.
After watching many Chem Guys videos, I agree with Crinj-- after clay barring and polishing, you need to protect the paint either by going straight to waxing or sealing and then waxing the car.
Yes . After you spending hours , correcting paint . You need a good protection on surface.
Coming from an experienced weekend warrior with a close friend who owns a detailing business. V32 SUCKS as COMPOUND, Meguiars detailer Compound D300 (pink bottle) is leagues BETTER then V32, Less compound dust, cuts deeper, and less fillers. Now as for V36 that is a great compound, it is better then Meguairs detailer polish D302 (Yellow bottle). As for the Torq polisher from CG, that also sucks, if you can’t afford a Rupes, go with Velocity, it’s better then Torq for not that much more.
Thanks for your advice. I was doing some research into the meguires line as well. For next summer I will def be picking that stuff up that you mentioned. Thanks again!
@@MatteoVlogs - Check out M110 and M210. Great products.
My choice is the Jescar abrasives, and Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber for cutting, and Uro-Tech yellow for polishing/finishing.
I have Rupes tools, and a Flex 3401, but for some reason prefer the Porter Cable 7424xp, like the one you use in the video.
Thanks bro
@@danlc95 I agree Meguiar's are miles better. You should also try compounds and polishes from Koch Chemie or Sonax. These are used allot by detailers here in EU, they might be more expensive in the US though.
@@karolisrum6573 - I have Sonax Ultimate Cut, Cut & Finish, Perfect Finish, and NP 03-06. I wanted to get the Koch, but I have so many sets already.
I have both sets of Rupes orbital polishes, Menzerna, Megs, 3D, Jescar.
I've been using the 3D a lot more lately. It's the only line I have that is formulated without harsh solvents, and is easier remove residual oils with a panel wipe.
At 5:23 we got a C.O.V.I.D-19 !!WE GOT A C.O.V.I.D-19!!(monsters inc joke) homie looked a lil worried tho lol
Lol
I bought the kit that comes with the torqx polisher and the compounds ($159 here in the US) to do a full buff before i ceramic coat my vehicle. my car has some light swril marks not too bad thou...will be using Cquartz 3.0 ceramic coating. cant wait to see how it will turn out.
Let me know!
@@MatteoVlogs will be doing that next weekend!!!! il be uploading a video on my wifes new channel (coming up lol) but ill let you know.
Awesome
Waiting for spring to come then I'm gonna polish my black accord with v36 and v38. Any tips are appreciated
awesome
Don’t use chemical guys. Try Menzerna .
@@stayclassymobiledetailing174 chemical guys are good for newbies . But will not take out deep scratches
@@tpike32 I just erased some nice walmart shopping cart scratches some Ahole left on my car with V36 using my rotary polisher. I've never even used a DA in 30 years. I find it's always just adapting/learning to whatever product you got on the shelf at the moment.
Would you still add V38 as a final polish if you used VSS?
I guess you could ya
According to Chemical Guys, VSS is a one-step polish, so no need to use V38 as well.
Correct, but v38 is a pure polish and is nice as a last step
@@MatteoVlogs... I'm definitely going to use V38 after using VSS.
uh..... you didnt post your final results
Why use tape doesnt it leave lines after?
No
Just tried out this stuff and it honestly left my black paint with scratches any idea why?
The way you polished or your polisher
@@MatteoVlogs I used the chemical pads but the ones you use by hand maybe I have to use the machine to get results
Maybe
Wait so let’s say you use vss first then you can use v36 on the same place?
I wouldn’t use vss then anything else. Vss is something you would use if u want to do a 1 step correction, for a quick fix. If not vss, then use v36 and v38
Matteo Vlogs so vss can be used as a stage 1
Ya but it’s really all u need
Matteo Vlogs Thank You so much
Is the v38 liquid? Mine is liquid for some reason...
Yup
Hand movement can improve you going to fast and v32 v34 compound first not v36. V36 is for light imperfections v34 would have been a better choice and a stronger machine too
Don’t need 32 or 34 if not needed bro. My paint wasn’t that bad.
@@MatteoVlogs you were testing out products you could have gotten 90% correction with white pad on v34 and white pad with v38
Brand new cars out the lot you can do v36 with white pad and be okay but those are light imperfections with your car being a bit older v34 and orange pad would have did the job change up the pads for more cut or less cut no matter the polish you use
“Older” means absolutely nothing. Year of the car means nothing. How do you know if I just got a fresh paint job or not 2 years ago? 5 years ago? Yesterday? My bmw is an 06 with great paint. I know what you’re saying but you need to take everybody’s paint as a diff job. I clay my car every 5 months. Correct every year. 32 or 34 was not needed.
@@MatteoVlogs actually it does but keep doing what you're doing and mess up the clear
✌️✌️✌️
Chemical Girls is definitely for the every other weekend warrior
I wish i can have cars for few days. I do 3 step correction and ceramic coatings in 1 full day 😅😅. People get turned off when i say i need the car for a few days. V38 is decent! Great video dude stay jacked 💯💯. Im cutting rn RIP muscle
Hahah thanks man!
This was my car
You have to step up and educate your clients why you need a few days.
If the customer is willing to give up their car for a few days (maybe they have a second vehicle), then that’s fine. But also try offering 1 day detailing, start early in the morning (offer to drive / pick them up), and end late at night. It’s doable
@@MatteoVlogs I agree.
You dont Start the buffer while its on the car also you didn't buff that enough so you wouldn't be able to tell if the compound works good
Yes you do
To many ads on these videos
Get the puck...ouuuut

@@MatteoVlogs i’m making fun of the Canadian accent so when we listen to hockey when they say the word out that’s how it sounds. Just a joke nothing more.
Probably sounds funnier in person
Oh I didn’t understand what u were saying lol.
@@MatteoVlogs like I said, it makes a little more sense when you hear it with an American ear the way certain words sound
Didn't work the polish in long enough
Thanks
@@MatteoVlogs no problem you did great. Not sure if maybe you cut out Part of the polishing process but typically I would of went just a few more passes up and down left to right. 3-4 full passes medium pressure slow and steady let the machine work for you.
As someone who has literally all of these products even the same polisher and pad these are horrible honestly thought they would be better but barely do anything at all, as you can see in the video the paint isn’t that bad to begin with I’ve tried all of these the v36, v38, the swirl remover none do any serious work on ACTUAL cars that need real product this is for like cars that barely have any scratches or swirls, just my opinion of course and I have done detailing before not just some random dude who washes my own car have used these on other peoples cars and never really satisfied with the results had to stop using them.
Thanks for your comment
Good video just wanted to give my opinion on it lol
That’s what the comment section is for!
Would you say Chemical Guys stuff isn't worth it? I got $60 worth of stuff but reviews say a lot of their stuff is hyped up and there's better options out there. What's your opinion? Since I'll just return this batch and go with another brand that people in many forums recommend over CG
I could not agree with you more. Chemical guys is ok but they are basically a cleaner . Won’t take out spider webbing or scratches .
