I have watched no less than 200+ TH-cam videos on running nutrition and this was the best one by a mile!! How does this only have 464 views (at the time I watched it)? There were so many amazing real world gold nuggets here I will probably have to watch this 4 or 5 times to get them all. I don't even know where to start. First of all - thank you so much to the interviewer for not making this about you. So many interviewers ask a question and then try to work in their own answer. This guy said what? 15 words the whole video. He let the expert talk which is so rare these days. I have to look up this lady and buy her book or whatever she is doing. Absolutely amazing and thank you so much!!
Great interview and information. Thank you... I did a 70.3 Ironman and only ate 1 gel and half a peanut butter sandwich.. it wasn't till after that I learnt about the importance of nutrition. It was an awful 8 hrs of a race. LOL
So much useful info. I wrote it down. I love this kind of information on nutrition and athletic performance. Now I need to figure out how it translates to me based on my weight I suppose.
You're right John, they have about 1-1.5g of fibre per serving but as they are usually the only food consumed during the run that have fibre, it is quite minimal. And some people will not be affected by the fibre at all :) The nice thing about fig newtons is that they contain quite a few calories in a small package...and they taste good :)
Very informative video - thanks for taking the time to interview her.
Caffeine post exercise is a top tip - thanks,

Thank you so much for your kind words. Louise is gifted and we are fortunate to call her a friend.
This is great info for me considering I'm 50 and just started training for my first 50k. Two thumbs up!

Amazing Interview. This is the advice I've been looking for.
Louise is awesome. I'm following her advice as part of my current training plan. Next interview in the series will be posted shortly.
Great interview. Thanks!
The old adage “nothing new on race day” applies, no new food, clothes, shoes, as few unknowns as possible.🏃♂️👍🤘
I love Fig Newtons, but don't they have fiber which she said should be avoided?

Someone send this to Nick Bare. All he cares about is sodium.
Nick Bare is doing quite well.
