Love the old equipment. As long as no water got into the cylinders guarantee all those Detroits will fire up. After checking the racks of course.

Bucyrus Erie was making hydraulic excavators back about 1968 to about 1982 there was 20h ,30h 40h the 400h came out about 1979 it was the new style had pilot controls but still air over hydraulics it was the replacement of the 40h you could get Cummins or Detroit the 40h and 400h were about cat 245 size I grew up around those machines my father ran 40h with a Cummins in it same machine for long time doing deep sewer work very popular with sewer contractors here in Massachusetts,New Jersey,New York areas. The 40h with the Cummins was the cats ass ! MORE BALLS than that screaming Detroit . That 400h is early new model it has the flat track pads you could get the triple grousers or cat bottom as we called it. Just my 2 cents 😂 cool video get more of the bucyrus erie 400h not many left anymore most have been cut up for scrap unfortunately

I really appreciate the information. This machine is really interesting to me. I think I am going to do a video separate on it I tried to look up information on the 400h but the only thing I could find was about the 40h just based on what I've learned and do a more in-depth walkthrough I love the history of these old machines your comment has given me more information and I could find on it. Once again I appreciate it

@@heavyequipmentandmore9994, the 400-H Bucyrus Erie weighed 168- 171,000 pounds and they ran 8V92TTA Detroit Diesel Engines that made I believe 404 horsepower. Much bigger than the legendary 245 Cat. I saw a 400-H sold at an auction like 5 years ago in New Jersey, in the Matawan Holmdel area. I wonder if this is the same one? Where's this one located?

The Wabco 333 elevating scraper: as described by Richard Campbell Powered by a 500 horsepower turbocharged GM Detroit Diesel 12V-71T engine in the tractor unit and a turbocharged 465 horsepower GM Detroit Diesel 12V-71T in the scraper, the 333FT was not underpowered by any stretch of the imagination.

A lot of the smaller WABCO scrapers had toggle switches instead of steering wheels for steering! Always thought that would be strange to operate!

Yes I agree, pretty sad to see these ol' beasts rusting in the middle of brambles, after so many yrs of "good and loyal services" ! I found not far from my home, a graveyard for Richard Continental Dozers (French brand from the 60'), dozens of them of all kinds. Some of them had even a tree growing between the blade and the cab ! Good video budy ! Rocks from France !!

Stop with the Spiderman stuff. They are WABCO which stood for Westinghouse Air Brake Company. They used Detroits and were cheap to buy but expensive to own due to using electric controls. LeTourneau used them as well.

Nothing wild about the radiators being gone. The same shameful thing is going on in lot's of places. I'm in Utah and saw some vintage cars a old guy had sitting in a old manufacturing area. Pretty much barn finds all gutted for the brass.

What a great collection, sadly just rotting away. I bet Matt from Diesel Creek would be very curious and keen to see these machines. I am a UK viewer and now a subscriber! P.S. You need to do "Will it Start" videos on each machine! Was the motorbike (9:31 in the video) dead/alive or just left out to rot?

I was stuck on a waaabcoe scraper for 3 effn yrs, my ears are still ringing but I finally blew up that lil 8v71 and it still ran , metal tinging around in the turbo, piston sleeves shattered, my company laughed all day watching that thing smoke, cough and die bellowing black smoke. Then came Mr 637…. And his identical twin, moved 300 000 yds, one mile on a new Torreón golf course in show low az, in 2 months…

Love the super dinky small STAY CLEAR aft decal just ahead of the counterweight, Unlike the absolutely mental Warning caution labels molesting the whole machine nowadays & there not placed there for the people around today's obnoxious machines there there because of insurance paranoia & simply avoids all & most fatality lawsuits because the said dumbass stickers are saving the super paranoid Non lovin' human buyers of today. Or Buy this & GFY. we have warning stickers all over for us & not you. Period

I ran a 400 for a week and it was a strong digging excavator. They also made a 500 the kokosing const. co. Owned 5 of them several caught fire and burnt up!. They took one 500 and completely restored it and is parked in front of there main office in Fredricktown, Ohio.
