Did you not know that there are radioactive elements of thorium, uranium, etc. in the stone, they create a radiation background! Especially if they lay for hundreds or thousands of years, as in these mountains!
And sticking your hands in the hopper trying to hold advancing rocks back as it's running. And trying to move it/get it unstuck while standing on a pile of rocks behind and having it roll back. One literal slip-up off those rocks and it could have easily rolled back on him. In the long run, that little machine is an accident waiting to happen if Andrew keeps it. A larger machine is more stable, easier to move (read as, safer), and could handle more rock easier (again, safer).
I am getting concerned that Andrew is drawing ever closer to getting a serious injury. I'm the same age as him and you can't keep doing the things he does forever.
Honestly... it doesn't draw you in so it still seems one of the less sketchy things he's done if you ask me. I fully trust him to not get hurt as long as he's paying attention, I just hope there won't be a day when he's a little bit off his game...

hey Andrew, I used to work in an aggregate mine that ran jaw crushers, and we had one of the largest ones in our company. the jaws on that mini one don't look like they're any sort of special material, maybe cast steel. you should most definitely be wary in that sense because with harder rocks (granite, etc.) are prone to shooting back out of the jaws. one thing we do to minimize that chance as much as possible, is our jaw plates are chrome steel-structured and manganese-faced. if you're looking into keeping that unit long-term (which I wouldn't recommend, by the way. it's laughably undersized) is to definitely look into those types of jaw plates for your own safety, others' safety, and the longevity of your crusher
That machine doesnt have longevity designed into it anywhere for Andrews work ethic, about 3-4 times of moving it and having to push it around it will probably be pinched up in a bucket😂, maybe the larger one will have more power and move effortlessly.

Small enough to get through a side gate or doorway and small enough to position by the sofa at Christmas to crush your walnuts
Small rock crusher. Perfect at what it is designed to do - small scale crushing of small rock. But the one thing we love about Mr Camerata is he's not afraid to push the envelope when testing equipment. Some of those rocks were maybe a tad too large for the crusher!

Man... I'm really amazed that you kept calm all this time when stalling or jamming... Engine smoked too much and it's going to need oil refill after a couple of days... When I saw the first mini crawler I said ok it's suits for the job, but as the Toyota came to play, it was a small crasher and as the beast crawler came to play... it's a tiny tiny little crasher for all that job!!
Well done for greasing the machine before you started to use it. I noticed that the lower end of the conveyor belt was getting a build up of material underneath it which will in the long run cause excessive wear,and the exhaust fumes were a bit much when it was overloaded ,Apart from that it seems okay, I would say that it is more suited to crushing building rubble 👍🏻🏴
That is incredibly neat. I've seen those super cheap little AliBaba imported Chinese jaw crushers and they apparently work pretty good but this is on a different level, would be pretty ideal for a small property owner. "Survived testing by Andrew Camarata" should be some sort of industry certification at this point

Andrew - as one of the folks coming to get you when you do make a mistake, please - take a step back and consider a few basic safety ideas - no hands in moving machines, no climbing in hoppers of running equipment, etc. You're working alone, and your local FD will try to help you, but you need to help yourself a bit too. Accidents happen, but the avoidable stuff isn't worth the downtime. Stay safe!
Dear Mr. Camarata. 👍👌👏 You are absolutely right! This crusher needs a more powerful engine or to be geared down for having more torque. Also for the driving unit (it's a joke). This machine might work well on site. For instance if a farmer has a lot of stones/rocks in/on his fields/pastures. I like how you started out by trying to crush yourself, then ruining the bearing with too much grease. "A little dab will do ya" and "too much will ruin everything". Our shop manager taught us to pack the trailer hubs right up with big wads of grease - they wouldn't even last 2000 km before they burned up.

fine small crusher. one huge opgrade would be to use a conveyor belt to get the stack of crushed stone in to an even bigger stack, then you can keep working for longer times :)
This looks neat. Gold rock miners have some this size and they get it like under the feet and wheels in your yard. Keep wood out won't crush. Jams. likely twigs ok. leaves ok.

Andrew had a lot more patience with this machine than I would have had. After about the 2nd time of having to fiddle around in the hopper, I would have loaded it up, returned it and got a size or two larger machine.
Andrew get you a lock n lube attachment for your grease gun. Seeing you fight with removing the hose reminded me of how much I love my lock n lube fittings. Easy on and easy off.

It'd be fine for chewing up old, scabby bits of foundation, floor or WHY as long as the rebar was out of it. Absolutely good for brick and tile, and as long as your disposal guy doesn't charge by weight then more compact garbage is more better, always.

After my heart almost dropped seeing the machine tip over I am shocked that the machine didn't come covered in cosmoline to stop all that rust and corrosion.

these little "Garden crushers" are not designed for quarry work. they're ideal for a small builder who knock down a wall or smaller out building and you crush the bricks and rubble to save on waste and get some usable material to use under a patio or driveway :) .. great video as always :)
That crusher would be a nice toy that only wants to crush a small amount of rock, but for what you have shown us, may we suggest a 'slightly' bigger version of this?
Exactly this - at a lot of the aggregate biz, they have a series of crushers that operate in serial - one’s output becomes the next level’s input… and so on…
What he needs is a screener to separate out the fine material before it goes into the crusher. Those machines don’t like to process sand dirt and organics. Gums up the jaw.
He already has. I think the small one is for the "next step" when Andrew needs some smaller gravel. Or for the leftovers that the big crusher leaves behind. XD

The best use of this is driveways and backyards where the only access is a small path and getting rock delivered is impractical.
But getting it delivered doesn't clear the property of the larger rocks. He is accomplishing two for one.

I can see this being super handy for very specific odd jobs or tight spaces. But it's tendency to clog probably justifies just getting a little bit bigger of a crusher.
Andrew has such nice material there. Almost driveway ready even without the crusher... I wonder how this machine would fare on some new england granite.
It is not suitable for granite, it is more of a machine for concrete and normal stone. Granite requires another type of larger crusher.

This will be cool if this guy gives you machines to demo. I know I appreciate you showing us the latest stuff out there. I had no idea they had these little baby plate crushers. There's probably a lot of other stuff I don't know about too. Can't think of a better guy to show it to us. Bring it on.

Andrew had a lot more patience with this machine than I would have had. After about the 2nd time of having to fiddle around in the hopper, I would have loaded it up, returned it and got a size or two larger machine.
Andrew get you a lock n lube attachment for your grease gun. Seeing you fight with removing the hose reminded me of how much I love my lock n lube fittings. Easy on and easy off.

This small machine is intended for crushing tiles, bricks and concrete when demolishing a building. Not for mining use.
Crushing concrete might be a stretch ! It couldnt crush little rocks !

@@tnolan3176 Concrete smashes up much easier than the bluestone (hard sandstone) at the first site. It'd be fine for chewing up old, scabby bits of foundation, floor or WHY as long as the rebar was out of it. Absolutely good for brick and tile, and as long as your disposal guy doesn't charge by weight then more compact garbage is more better, always.

That little crusher works. It all depends what kind of stuff you're going to crush, but you're putting some big pieces in there. I wonder how it would do on the river rock that kind of stuff. Looking forward to your next video. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
That would be really nice for masons redoing concrete driveways. They could crush the old concrete on-site and use it as base material for the new pour.
Masons don't do driveeways they do witchcraft. Irish travellers do road works.

After my heart almost dropped seeing the machine tip over I am shocked that the machine didn't come covered in cosmoline to stop all that rust and corrosion.
Nobody does that anymore, that costs money, money the CEOs don't have to spend, they need big yachts. It's expensive to make one. Be reasonable, think of the poor CEOs, all that ... hard work they do every day, sitting around and watching paint dry.

What does the man who has everything get himself.... mini versions of everything! And standing up that rock crusher by hand when there are a dozen implements within 10 feet that could have stood it back up with ease...
these little "Garden crushers" are not designed for quarry work. they're ideal for a small builder who knock down a wall or smaller out building and you crush the bricks and rubble to save on waste and get some usable material to use under a patio or driveway :) .. great video as always :)

That crusher would be a nice toy that only wants to crush a small amount of rock, but for what you have shown us, may we suggest a 'slightly' bigger version of this?

He needs a rock crusher to crush rocks for the little rock crusher.
Exactly this - at a lot of the aggregate biz, they have a series of crushers that operate in serial - one’s output becomes the next level’s input… and so on…
What he needs is a screener to separate out the fine material before it goes into the crusher. Those machines don’t like to process sand dirt and organics. Gums up the jaw.

Andrew, with the 3/4” blend in some fine aggregate and some cement to make: CONCRETE. Andrew Camarata Concrete Mix Design (not quite “Regular”, definitely : HEAVY DUTY).
