Data alone does not work.... We know what PTR promised to the People of TN and the TN Govt is yet to fulfill any of that. TN Govt is in 7L Cr of Debt and Stalins family has been in Govt for 45 of the 75 years. Pls do not get carried away but this guys language....
@@krishvenkat8518 TN debt per GDP is reuced. Net debt to GDP is reduced by 30000 cr. Revenue deficit has been reduced alot and soon TN will become revenue surplus...

do you know, Tamilnadu gov spending 60%+ of their taxpayer's money just on salaries 😀 how crazy is that, of course, Kerala is spending 90% of their tax money on Salaries even crazier.. basically whole population tax money going to 1% of the population :) this is the same case for many states like Punjab etc.. now you know why our states are very bad in infrastructure spending .. they really do not have money to do any development activity .. forget about jobs creation, skill development .. its all good in media talks, ground reality, implementation is not an easy thing to do.. in that central gov doing far better than many states... by the way, few state doing gr8 now, Telengana, Maharashtra etc ..

Dr PTR is the gem of India. I just love his clarity of thought. Amitabh Kant on the other hand was bragging just like a Bhakt. No comparison.

A Kant is virtually shouting like a BJP spokesperson. His body language is aggressive and arrogant. He conveys his Master’s voice that all is hunky dory, prefers to avoid the pitfalls and failures. PTR comes across as more calm, knowledgeable and professional in his articulation.

Dr. PTR gave REALISTIC situations of Democracy in India. Modi has systematically destroyed hard won miracles in keeping the INDEPENDENCE of the Supreme Court, High Courts, RBI, Revenue Depts, CBI, NIS etc. Corruption and Political interference is so huge, the Democracy is terribly wounded during Modi Regime. To recover from this Anarchy, India needs decades of reform.
Economically, India needs enormous structural changes: 1. Comprehensive River Connections from J & K to Kanyakumari so that we don't depend on Monsoons every years. IF the Monsoons fail for 3 consecutive years, India will become the next Pakistan or Sri Lanka. Constant availability of water for Agriculture ever year all year is a Very Important Aspect of India's Future Growth... Modi never mentioned this ever.
Whatever Modi started in the last 10 years, NOTHING worked well at all. For example, DeMonetization & GST Implementation. Clean India failed because of the lack of water at the toilets!
With all the mis-information, Modi Raj had a growth of barely 7% which means GDP Per Capita doubled in 10 years, much slower than what we had during Dr. Singh's Time: It grew at a rate of 1.5 times MORE than Modi Period.

He as the head of the so-called Niti Ayog failed to ensure that the laid down objective rule of law were followed in case of the Airport management allocation done a few years ago when the GOI bent the rules to favour Adani group to allocate 6 airports in one shot.

When someone comments India will provide 30% of the world’s work force, he is forgetting how Automation is going to impact developed world.
Amitabh is a politician, why does he have to shout? Gyanis will always be soft-spoken like PTR. This shows the huge difference between knowledge and empty vessels.

You spoke convincingly and realistically while Mr. Amitabh, in my opinion, spoke more like a politician rather than a scholar and so was not very convincing with his loud voice and statistics being compared to the population of the countries etc. Anyway one is happy to hear many things are done for the poor.

Amitabh kanth sounds like a PR. He was neither specific nor pertinent.
Amitabh Kant seems to think that rapid urbanisation is the best way to capitalise on our young demographic. Such short-sighted thinking and that too by the Niti Ayog CEO is shocking. By moving people away from the villages and therefore away from agriculture paves the way for industrial agriculture which is the failed American model, which results in low quality produce, increased monocultures, increased pesticide/herbicide use, depletion of water tables, degradation of soil and untold damage to the environment- flora & fauna alike, esp the pollinators. Agriculture can be modernised instead of industrialised. Keeping people in the villages with ample opportunities for livihood is any day better than increasing the stress on our cities.

The achievements described by Mr. Amithab are true and to be proud of. In contrast the points raised bY PTR are also basic to any democracy like independent institutions, accountability etc and need to be taken care of.

Kant came to the forum as a marketing agent for the India story and PTR turned up as a regional politician. The lack of common ground was jarring and the host should have put in effort to contextualise the conversation.
If PTR wants an East Asian style industrial revolution in Tamil Nadu, then he has to stop being critical of the central government whoever is in power. You will never find a regional leader from Kagawa, Tokyo or Aichi complaining about the resource drain that Saitama, Miyazaki or Kochi pose. The Japanese tax distribution is even more lopsided than Maharashtra(₹7.7)-Arunachal Pradesh (₹4863).
Japan, Korea and China(two of them are democratic) sell this as domestic stability around financial honchos while we have a crab mentality on full international display.
As a computer scientist who in interested in the correctness of the software, while the digital infrastructure is impressive, it continually needs innovation, verification, and increased robustness.... all provably so (not empirically). So Mr Kant's talk has a high amount of Cant. PTR is very much more correct and on the ball. The digital divide is serious and important.
