There are stirrings of disaffection in Southern states. This does not augur well for the country

    • @agytjax
      @agytjax 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@chirayubrahmbhatt6843 - If you watched the entire interview, what PTR is rightly pointing is the widening of the disparity and disproportionate allocation of capital to states like UP, Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh. I agree that some capital should be allocated towards poorer states. The fact, as backed by data, is that such policy is not working. If such measures are not narrowing the gap, they should incentivize the poor states to elevate their HDI and per capita income. It is like if you keep giving alms to the poor, they'll never learn to earn ! Political parties (including Congress), willingly or inadvertently take advantage of this to grow their base (as in the case of BJP by pumping more money to Hindi heartland) at the cost better performing Southern states. That's why I say Indian bureaucrats are dumb, lazy and cowards!

It imperative that the ‘other states’ catch-up or show signs that they are on the road to progress. It is in India’s interest. We cannot have states lagging behind . It is a dangerous road to play politics with this important issue. Indians must step up to the 21st century with their moral compass intact.

There was no necessity for Congress to mobilise resources through Cess. They were handed over on Gold plate an Economy which was about to take off in every sphere. Everything was loaded in their favour. World economy was in cloud 9. They wasted the resources by writing off loans, forcing PSU banks to give loan to shady guys. Finally looted everything & left the banks bankrupt, double digit inflation & earned the title of fragile five nations of the world (Contd)

Agree on how Mr PTR's view on setting the criteria.. that is something the FC can discuss. Issue is... DMK and some southern parties have been vocal and spreading lies that the central government is "not giving importance to the southern states", " is taking a lot and giving little" As Mr PTR has rightfully pointed out, this has been the ongoing for the last 25 to 30 yrs. Since DMK was in the congress coalition, why didn't DMK do about this during the UPA reign. The current government is giving according to the FC guidelines. They are just finding excuses and reasons to discredit BJP. For once after independence, India has a great and visionary leader who walk the talk in Modi, ( i'm not a BJP supporter) and india is growing economically and Statue in the world politics. We need to hear the finance commission point of view, we are hearing the one -side, Commnets like Nirmala go to Finance tuition or PTR become Finance minister are not warranted. When he was Finance minister what did he do, during GST council meetings or Did he talk to the Finance commission and not when he was in opposition 5 or 6 years ago. Further, the theory that rich states share more to poorer states and get less, is again misplaced, TN gets less despite more collection is due to more production vs less sales, TN may produce millions of cars but the sale is happening in other states and GST is collected there. it is not politicisation ofm funds, if the funds given are not used for development but for corruption like in West Bengal and TN.

    Western India (2 States)
    Population - 20 crore
    Net Tax collection -
    Maharashtra - 5,42,498cr
    Gujarat - 71,642cr
2 Western India states net tax collection - 6,14,140cr
    Southern States (5 states)
    Population - 26 crore
all 5 southern states' net tax collection- only 3,60,526cr
Maharashtra paying more taxes > All southern states
    If You Compared with Delhi
Delhi Next Tax collection - 1,77,824cr
    Karnataka - 1,68,678cr
    Tamil Nadu - only 88,438cr
Delhi > Karnataka > Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu Net Tax Collection is less than 1 lakh crore rupees
