People are generally thick, they think that a Mayor can stop domestic violence, gang warfare, random attacks, phone thefts, night club fights, rent rises, cost of living and punctuality of public transport. No one person can stop these things. People are stupid.

£99,000 for a new cab and not enough work, people working from home and the poxy demonstrations on Saturdays are killing us.
He is a cab driver but nobody can afford cabs. How does that work out ? How do you say something without being accused of racism?
New drivers cannot afford cabs! Are you stupid? Yes. Most taxi drivers are older meaning they already had an older taxi
Sadiq Khan’s, to reduce pollution by expanding the ULEZ to greater
London is not working.
He doesn’t really care about pollution and air quality and here is
why:
- He has already increased pollution and made London the
slowest moving city in the world, it’s far worse now since he
introduced the LTN’s which have increased pollution on the
main roads because we are forced to use them as there are no
other alternatives, especially during rush hour. The roads are
now grid locked with traffic moving at walking pace and the
fumes are getting denser and not dispersing because of it.
LTN’s need to be reopened as it is causing more damage than
good.
Among all this, the mileage in vehicles has also increased due
to the fact that we are forced to go the long way round to get
to the required destination - all accumulating to even more
emissions being emitted! Bravo Sadiq & team. (How can this
be reducing pollution?!)
- Pedestrians as they walk along these main routes to get to
stations, schools, shops are inhaling far more fumes than
before, you can really notice this. Even drivers inhale more
fumes when we are stuck in stationary traffic. This is really
aggravating and makes no sense!
- Cycle Lanes: Should not be taking up an extra lane of the roads,
large pavements could be divided into two for cyclists.
- The introductions of 20MPH roads are also a big problem
because emission fumes don’t disperse quickly and the air is
getting even more polluted because of the need to drive in
lower gears. (higher revs = more fumes)
Sadiq’s statement: “It is to reduce toxic air pollution” is clearly not
accurate, he has made matters far worse. It is obvious that his
policies are just to clobber the motorist and to generate funds for
TFL. The situation is getting extremely out of hand and something
needs to be done to stop him from ruining our climate even more.
He should resign and Londoners should vote for someone who will
make London a greater and more desirable place to live in. There
needs to be a more logical and strategic plan that is well thought out.

Good discussion. However, voting in a Tory anything, Mayor or Party, seems rather ridiculous to me, How on earth can we trust them on any level when all they've shown us for the past 14 years is just how out of touch they are with 'we the people'?
You need to understand first that you are voting for a mayor and not the tories Party. You need to look at what Susan Hall has fought for and not taint everyone with the se tories brush

So what's your point? It's a democratic election. You pick the candidate that appeals to you most. You wanna sit on the fence, go ahead.
It's a FPTP election now. Essentially any vote not for either Khan or Hall is academic .. it might make you feel better about participating but it will have no effect. Rotten system.
London is the capital of Britain. It represents the country, so I think there should be a wider vote for its Mayor. The population of London is more than 50% foreign, so I think everyone in the country should be able to vote in the London mayor elections, not just those who live in London. There should be wider representation and support in choosing a London Mayor from the broader UK population. We have to travel into London from outside the area and the ULEZ fines and worries about crime are not what we used to feel about a safe, easy trip into town.
Why should I have a vote when I've not even visited London for over a decade? I think there is a case for giving people who work in London but live outside London a vote in the mayoral election, but not a UK-wide free-for-all.

@@RevDiscarnateEntity It's difficult to include everyone without it becoming open to abuse.. but obviously a contract of employment that involves you working in London would count. For self-employment I suppose you'd have to show you have over 50% of your customers/clients in London. It does get a bit messy at the edges.

Not really, it has increased congestion and pollution astranomically in areas close to where said kids play. No one has benefited from it. @@calorus
@@lewis93156 No. Seriously even if you live on a the road near an LTN, you can go and play on the LTN. Otherwise there are cars everywhere and nowhere to go.
Back in the early nineties, we used to play football in the street, it basically died out when minicaps started infesting everywhere, until the LTNs came back.
As delivery driver last 15 years my job has became living hell by the road blocks 20 mph and money grab cameras theirs days i work for nothing due to fines it's unfortunate for all drivers who intend to make living 😂

To many buses on the roads non peak times 3 busses all behind one another no more than 12 people on all 3. They also put bus stops opposite each other on some small roads so you have to drive in the middle of the road just wide enough to get your car through. Also they put traffic island with bollard right where a bus stop is ? 3.5 meter wide pavements with cycle lanes no one uses what are these people taking. They haven't got a clue what there doing and every time government or mayor councils are changes then they want to spend billions on changing it all again this must stop spending taxpayers money with no accountability.

The amount of London taxi driver's licenses that are active doesn't mean that's the amount of driver's who are actually working. Some may have retired before the expiry of their renewable three yearly license or for some other reason(s). One example is an owner driver's taxi might be coming to the end of its workable life as a licensed London hackney carriage what with the age restrictions that were undemocratically foisted (imposed) on us including Khan reducing Johnson's edict of fifteen years down to twelve on the euro 5 and prior TX4's. Many won't and don't want to rent a cab from a fleet owner as it's too expensive, it's the same with purchasing one (the vastly overpriced TXE) therefore the number quoted in the podcast of approx 17,500, isn't a true figure. Also we are at one of the lowest numbers with regards to the amount of students on the KOL, and only approximately 15% will ever finish it at any given time as nobody fails the Knowledge Of London.... they give up.
Even if it were double that, it's 35,000 out of an electorate of ~6 million.
No need for pop up bollards just adopt the bus lane strategy and only inforce at peak times 😊😊😊 simples .
