Brilliant Andy. I don't like sweet and sour but really interesting vid. If you don't have corn flour you can melt some butter then put plain flour in then make into a paste and put it in, cook the flour out and that thickens sauces up as well. 👍
@fatandy you can just put a splash or two of soy sauce in with the rice/egg mixture and add a sprinkling of peas and the batter try just self raising flour and water next time, you’ll be surprised how good a batter it is. Awesome 🙌 meal Andy 👏👏
It’s amazing how popular chicken balls with sweet,and sour sauce are in the UK.When I came here in 1965,it was a popular dish here too,though I never liked it,the chicken was not battered,and the sauce had onion,green peppers,as well as pineapple,it’s a combination I just don’t like,though I like all the components.When Sichuan,and Hunan Chinese started appearing in the Chinese restaurants that was one of the dishes that disappeared,I just loved the spicy Chinese cuisines.I had dinner at a Uyghur Chinese ,they are a minority group from north western China,and are genetically a Turkish people,interesting food,leaning towards Turkey,but with a Chinese taste.I think it’s great how you show people how easy it is to make a dish like that.I like to make fried rice,with onions,eggs,peas,bean sprout,and either bacon,or spam,it’s a whole meal for at least 2 days.😊

I deep fried them around 160c for around 8-10 mins until golden brown, if you haven’t got a deep fat fryer then use a saucepan with oil in it but don’t have the heat to high as the outside will cook before the middle 👍
Good idea to make it yourself my daughter went on holiday back in July with her partner and she was really poorly after eating some Chinese food at a restaurant,at least you know it's clean at home and safe to eat ithink it's worth it to make it

And yes you are correct it is an acquired taste I think the truffle oil does not give an accurate taste of real fresh truffles Your chicken balls look fantastic and so does the complete meal. You should try green dragon flour for the batter on your chicken balls. It makes a big difference
