I like how the headlights, taillights, gauges, and van itself have changed nothing since like 1999 lmao I wish companies would do that with other vehicles too. I don’t need the latest and greatest everything. It would be cool to have a 2022 crown Vic that’s just like the 2010 ones.
That's because they found something that works and is tried and true.. they didn't want to mess it up like the other manufacturers lol. They did change them just slightly over the years though.. but for the most part, the body/chassis is the same. 98-02 were one generation/style, 03-07 were a different generation/style, with different engine/tranny configurations, a few cosmetic changes and interior restyling, and 08-current is the latest generation/style, with updated powertrain selections and the interior modeled after the 08+ lineup.. but they still come with all basic equipment.. just a plain jane workhorse. Not even LED lighting lol.. but I hop in my van and can always count on it to get me where I need to go, and I'd much prefer that to fancy styling and technology, which is just more to break/go wrong
Yeah my 2010 Crown Vic Police Interceptor has the exact same frame, body, and lights as all the way back to 1998 until they stopped making them in 2011, same 4.6L SOHC 16V V8 engine just updated (like coils instead of distributors, electric fan instead of serpentine driven fan, PI intake manifold, drive by wire instead of cable {unfortunately} etc.) and an updated version of whats basically the same transmission, which is the 4R75E, instead of the 4R70W or 4AOD before that. I think more companies should do that kind of stuff. I think the older GM truck designs were awesome though, especially the commercial versions, because they had the better version transmissions. Maybe I like old school and reliable, instead of new/fancy and unreliable, because of what the second commenter said; I’m half eastern Slav myself lol and yeah the safety could be an issue, but there was still pretty good safety features overall in the late 90’s. It’s pre 1991 that shit starts getting dangerous
I wonder if they had to retool any of the body panel stampings because I've heard they only last about 7 years before they are too worn out. This has much to do with cars getting redesigned frequently, but the express doesn't really have a very demanding shape does it?
I own a 2018 Express cargo 2500 6.0 ..... it surprises many in the wrong lane at traffic lights who think they can jump in front of it , only to realize that they should have stayed behind it so as to not be embarrassed by their ride. I have owned every generation dating back 47 years ... owned pick ups , but in my opinion full size Vans are it is still the best all around utility vehicles ever made ...and when you got a load of lumber back to the house ..if it starts raining ..you go inside have a coffee and relax ..😁
As a Brit we obviously don't have these so had to look up what is was; thought it was a performance SUV not a fkin van! Absolutely nuts! V6 (except the old Mercs), let alone V8 vans are unheard of here
It's really only sensible if you pay $3.85 a gallon and NOT a liter. The greatly improved turbocharging technology, as well as improved metallurgy allowing engines with fewer cylinders and longer crank throws to run faster before you need to worry about them coming apart is an indicator that GM uses these engines as a cost saving measure more than anything.
I don’t know much about these vans but I just watched a 0-60 from a 4.3 v6 and for some reason it sounds almost identical to the v8. I thought that other vid was a v8 at first
Doubtful. The 3.5l ecoboost has 310hp and 400 torque. The 6.6l gas engine has 401hp and 464 torque. Both have similar weight, so it's physically impossible for the Ford to be faster.
If this is really a 2021, shame on GM for using a VERY DATED driver information panel. This is iike 20 years old. But I have a feeling this is not a 2021... Just saying.
They literally have not made a single update to their vans since 2008. The interiors and exteriors are identical. They keep selling, so they won't mess with them.

I’m glad to see some cars in 2021 have normal gauge clusters still
I like the tachometer screen under the speedometer.
I never noticed that tho still fast

These vans haven't changed barely at all in the last 20 years there like identical nice pull though how fast will it go?
These vans are electronically limited to 100mph
Honestly, if i had a chance, i would take this over Mercedes sprinter or ford transit for some reasons
These vans are the best.....barely anything breaks, and they are way better than ford and mercedes in many ways,
Wow ludicrous speed for a van.

dude, the car was made in 2021 yet the instrument cluster looks like it’s from 2005….

460 footpounds, pretty nice

6.6 the title is right. I misspoke in video

The 4.3 is basically the 5.7 with two cylinders Missing. They have the same bore and stroke also.
