    Considering I’m about to get the second PLD mount soon, this guide showing up on my rec list is a god send lol.
    Thank you so much. I’ll probably re watch it to try and pair it while on game to practice. I think my main issue is going to be to try and remember the different openers depending on the content.

    Looking at the 90 opener, I have to ask, why is Edge of Darkness weaved with the first Shadowbringer instead of Carve and Spit with Shadowbringer to get C&S cooldown started?

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      An excellent question!
      Ultimately the exact order of the cooldowns isn't crucially important for dark knight, but having a consistent sequence is helpful for memory. However with that said, if your TBN popped from damage in the opener, the edge of darkness you are referring to would happen at 8200 mp, and would have been free. By the time the next gcd has resolved you would at least be closer to 9200 mp because of delirium and blood weapon, and carve and spit also gives you 600 mp, so there would be a very real possibility that you could possibly lose out on an mp tick.
      In contrast, c&s having a one minute cooldown means that delaying it by a single gcd is very unlikely to lose you a cast of it over the course of a fight!
      I hope that makes sense! 😊 If you like, it should be perfectly safe to play around with mixing up the opener sequence if you think getting c&s out sooner really will make a bigger impact 😊

    why is provoke used instead of unmend to pull?

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Provoke being an ability means you can follow up with hard slash just half a second later, which means you can get to living shadow faster, as you will have enough to use that after souleater.
      If you are in a situation where positioning the boss strictly in the center, for example, is crucially important, then unmend might be the better choice since you might not even be in range to attack after provoke due to positioning the boss. This is generally not necessary in casual content, but does happen in extreme and savage content, so I recommend pulling with provoke or unmend depending on your needs 😊

    I don't do much tanking, is the pre-pull TBN shield broken reliably?

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on the duty. But you would need to test it for the specific fight if you want to be sure! 😊

  • @raarasunai4896

    Wait, Living Shadow doesn’t snapshot your buffs like other DoTs?

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Nope! Living shadow is actually a pet, and so both deals with scaling with stats in unusual ways, but also benefits from buffs on you(and your target) in real time! 😁

    Idr if it’s already been mentioned but how would your cycle your defensive at max level Drk?

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The way I do it right now is like this:
      AoE pull 1:
      TBN + shadow wall > TBN + oblation + reprisal
      If the fight really drags out you can use oblation and more TBN.
      AoE pull 2:
      TBN + rampart > TBN + oblation + arms length. If the fight really drags out you can use reprisal and more TBN, and maybe more oblation if it wasn't used previous pack.
      Naturally you can mix and match these things but I think what stands out about this strategy is that I put a lot more defensive cooldowns early on, and this also stands out because defensive cooldown cycling generally means you'd only use one big cooldown at a time normally, but the average aoe pull at max level ends so fast that there is no reason to save everything like that 😊
      The most important part is to use TBN on cooldown and then cycle through the other defensives simultaneously. As long as you so that, you of course don't have to follow my order listed above 😊
      I hope this helps!

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad to hear that!
      I think the best advice I can give you is to try and focus on a few actions to keep track of what you need to do, instead of all of them!
      For example, Blood Weapon is every minute, and you want to use Carve and Spit or Abyssal Drain and Delirium around every minute as well. Living Shadow comes up every other minute, so when Blood weapon IS about to be ready, you can take a glance at Living Shadow to see if you need that one too!
      Plunge might be a bit of its own on 30 seconds, and Salted Earth on 90 seconds.
      Anyway, with more practice, I am sure you can learn to memorize the rotation more! ^^
