- The Holy Grail, the most prized relic of Christianity has been shrouded in mystery for centuries. Said to be the cup used by Christ at the last supper it is believed by many to hold miraculous powers. For centuries Kings, knights and treasure hunters have sought it, but it has always remained elusive and out of reach of human hands.

There was a documentary made in the late 1980s about this. The Nazis tried to get the holly grail but two archaeologists found it. Unfortunately it was lost down a chasm.
lol that was Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark
@@matthewshaw3144 Don't explain the joke :)
@@mbovenka Especially badly, it was The Last Crusade.

Didn't realise this comment was a joke until I read the other replies. I had to Google chasm.
Mabey the Grail is all the friends we made along the way
Or the enemies, since the point of life in Christianity is to die at one point, getting to heaven or oblivion, which a source of ethernal life would prevent. Think about it.
Maybe...
Tf have you been smoking? 😂
You'd be surprised how close that is to the mark. :)
Watch, the holy grail is just another cup in someone’s beer stein collection.
Likely 😂
Compliments to the sound editor , however music wasn’t quite loud enough I almost heard what was being t said 🙄

Just make sure you choose the cup of a carpenter, not a king.
Ummm carpenter is probably a miss translation

So the holy grail is so powerful and grants eternal life…. Yet any group or individual has possessed it has been defeated and none are alive ? Sounds like the holy grail needs an operators manual 😮
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think it's one of those "you won't die of old age, but..." things. Such forms of immortality are certainly not unheard of.
Precisely. You can't wield something of God's for evil like that.

The Spear of Longinus AKA Spear of Destiny was also important
The Spear Of Destiny, by Trevor Ravenscroft.
The Thule Gesstaffle that pierced JC
The holy knickers were far more important
The fact be told, the cup Jesus probably used was a little clay vessel. The gold chalice or grail is a RCC myth

I’ve seen a movie about this, I think it was called Monty Python
There was also a movie where The Holy Grail played a major plot point called Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade.
A person of high quality culture I see!
It was! A great movie!!

Who started the legend and quest for this object that may or might not exist?
what a fantastic documentary, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Subscribed for sure

Richard Stanley made the film Hardware in the 80's. Legend.
Yes, but not really an anthropologist as claimed
Until the making of “The Island of Dr.Moreau” derailed his directing career
Himmler a ‘nerd’, no. It was a typo for ‘Terd’.
A Terd who previously raised Berds.
What's a terd?
You look like Himmler, are you his great grandson, amazing likeness

Why is Everyone saying Raiders of the Lost ark? That’s the Ark. Raiders of the lost “Ark”.
That was “The Last crusade”. lol
Because there were Nazi's in that one too?
@@danirasys And Steven Speilberg stole the idea for that film from a French author and researcher, I believe Jean-Luc Chaumeil which was based on historical events if memory serves, unlike the Hollywood version. And it turned into a nasty lawsuit. But Dan Brown would do the exact same thing when he stole the idea for the DaVinci Code from the Book ''Holy Blood Holy Grail,'' released in 1982, also about that region of France, also based on true events, so the story goes and that ended up in a huge lawsuit too. That area's very busy! The treasure legends ever end!
Fascinating!
its fake.
It was never “imbued with miraculous powers”. Neither was his plate or his chair. Only him.
Myths
@23:42 - That certainly looks like Guy de la Bédoyère from the old Time Team gang. I love this guy.
Two great legends came out of medieval Europe: the Holy Grail and the Wandering Jew. Neither had any solid historical basis. Both provoked literary work, and the Grail romances still occupy a place in the collective Western imagination. Wagner's Parsifal is one of the greatest operas. To think that the Grail isan object waiting to be found is to miss the point.
Fortune and glory 😊
Richard Stanley!
I met him at the Fields of the Nephilim aftershow party in 2008.

Funny how he wanted the holy grail but forgets Jesus was Jewish
He wanted a cup which may or may not be incredibly powerful and magical ❤️🔥
@@bessthurgood9444Fact that Jesus was a Jew and wanting something he touched is odd. Do not believe it had any powers.
Only half Jewish. His dad was a dove.
Jesus was also the first Christian....
@@growshreebag1581 Humans who believe in him are christian, Jesus is Hebrew.
The holy grail is not a cup... it's the blood line of Christ and Mary, this is why the Knights Templar went to the holy lands, and they found it.
Now I know where Henry Jones Sr. and René Belloq were drawn from.
I think I saw this as a TV show............35 YEARS AGO!
This channel is very environmental. It recycles everything.
And still no Grail or Spear of Destiny, No Atlantis
So Indiana Jones had a back story
What was it with Heinrich Himmler and his obsession with The Occult, anyway?
It came with the cross dressing and other closeted interests
The holy grail is just a metaphor for enlightenment. The cup is God, which is what prophets drink from to acheive immortality. To literally acheive immortality, you have to give your egoic self to God and become an empty vessel for God, this is "death while alive"
Well said. That's my thinking to.
Yep, I seriously doubt it's an actual cup or something.
yes, of course.
I worked with a Himler in SE Ohio. He looked like Himmler so I asked and he said yeah he was an uncle. They dropped the m. Damn good kid too.
Everyone thinks the cup of Christ would be some grand thing but most likely it was made of wood or clay and not adorned at all. Jesus was against such things as displays of wealth hence why he went against the church and flipped over the table.
Elsa: “It would not be made out of gold.”
Indy: “That’s the cup of a carpenter.”
It was the money-changer's table he overturned....outside the temple.
Everyone feels the need to state the obvious... as you just did.

When searching for the Grail, be sure to check out English castles with French garrisons. You will have to endure some fierce taunting.
Look, everybody has their favorite coffee cup…do you think for a minute that Jesus would just leave that behind? He was probably thinking, “man I love this cup, this thing is tight, y’all can kick rocks, nerds I’m taking this with me.”
Hence why no one will ever find it 😂
What a story. Why isn't this a movie?
They hired Robin Hood as researcher.
perhaps the immortal™️ has possession of the grail©️
Legendary snipe hunt.
I highly doubt that the Lord himself would allow someone SO appalling and evil as Himmler to have the Holy Grail, if it really does exist. The Holy Grail would probably be something simple like a wooden cup or some sort of tin cup. Not one adorned with jewels etc. The Savior's life was about service and preaching, not about wealth or gold as man does. His whole life was that of selflessness and giving. The EXACT opposite of anything Himmler or the Nazis were about. The best part of this video was Guy calling Himmler a nerd. ❤
If there were such a thing as your God surely he would never allow Himmler and The Nazis to live in the first place. More proof, not that any is needed, that your God does not exist.
Please. Like "Lord" wouldn't allow his ground offices to be a haven for men who hurt children up until maybe a decade or two ago.
The Holy Grail is a messianic bloodline
@@samziegler4957Exactly! Pedophiles hidden behind religion. Probably has been for centuries, not a few decades.
@samziegler4957 The problem is- if God doesn't exist, you have no one to blame for the way the world is. Things are just horrible and nothing can be done to fix that. There is no hope for all those tortured and murdered children in history. They suffered and died for nothing. If God exists, there is hope that something good is coming for them at the end. Sure, you don't belive it, but why not hoping? Nothing wrong with hope. Hope I'd better than being hopeless and miserable.
He wanted to drink from holy cup so he cud meet the Knights of Ni .

He was most definitely power crazy
Randall Carlson has something to say about this. Hint: the grail is not a chalice
Carlson is a pseudo historian, not to be taken seriously.
Besides, Jesus was swatted with a naked boy (Mark 14: 51-52).
“Slave piracy” would explain why him and two “robbers” were crucified the next day. Normal criminals were stoned, hung or topped.

I actually drink coffee from it every morning😇
the Cathars had to hock the Grail. Cost of living.
0:46 Hey! Ritchie Blackmore!
If Himmler were alive today, he would have been a Henry Potter fan.
😂🤣😅 I reckon he would have been for sure now that you mention it. This is the best comment here.
Funny. Nowhere in the Bible is Jesus quoted as telling his followers that objects have magical powers, or instructing them to worship or venerate objects. To do so would have been anathema to Jesus as a Jew.
Obviously what happened to the researcher is terrible, but he definitely made some pretty bad choices. Joining and working for the group that wants to murder your people is wild. He was bound to get caught, so why not just leave right away?
I think that in 1936, no one knew what the Nazi’s were going to do. At that point they were praised for bringing Germany out of the depression. Only later, in 39 did the world begin to see what they were doing, then it was too late.
Asked to prove things that are not true. Sounds like modern day universities.
Bahaha 😂
You can't find what doesn't exist.
Basically this is Raiders of The Lost Ark movie in real life.
The guy whose face melts off?? Himmler.
Where is it written that the grail has special powers?
I think it was in the Beano annual, 1986.
He should have been looking for the holy hand-grenade of Antioch, it blows your enemy to tiny bits. It says so in the book of armaments carried by brother Maynard, I can't remember which chapter.

We all know that The Grail is in The Canyon of The Crescent Moon. Surprised Himmler never knew this 🤷🏼♂️
Return to Castle Wolfenstein 😀
For the same reason everyone does. The rumor of immortality and the infamy of finding it. Though I have to say it would counter the argument of the Arian race.
If it does exist it’s probably in a pawn shop or flea market somewhere with no one realizing what it is. Like that episode of family guy where it turns out to be just a coffee mug with “Jesus” written on it 😂
Supposedly it is still at the castle "Arrrrrggggg'. I'd be happy enough just finding castle 'Anthrax', and leave it at that. I doubt I'd make it past the 'Bridge of Death' anyway; I don't know the capital of Assyria, or my favorite color.

@@gzdPr yeppers. Just to make the point, I would like to point out that the Jewish historical writings refer to Jesus as a Rabbi. To be a Rabbi, THE MAN MUST BE MARRIED. Who was his wife? Mary Magdalen, it's generally believed. After the Crucifixion, Mary Magdalen, and Mother Mary, hopped aboard one of Joseph of Aramathia's ships, and fled to Europe.
