I have traveled the world my entire adult life.
I was with a Canadian friend one time in Japan. We were with a very interesting group of European and Australian travelers.
I lived there and was kinda giving the tour.
They were having a blast until my Canadian friend mentioned that I am American.
Some of them actually turned their backs.
This is nothing new for me. This happened in Europe to me all the time.

BTW, during ww2 for most Amerricans the real war was the U.S. vs Japan, that was their war, the one in Europe bieng just a sideshow about which they didn't care. In fact there were many who were on Germany's side as they considered the USSR the real enemy. As for the rest of the world they considered this was a settling of accounts between White Europeans in which they didn't have a dog. But Allied/Soviet propaganda said otherwise. The same that happens nowadays with Russia and Putin. "Russia is 100% isolated and all the world hates Putin". Yeah, right.

I am not really sure the word to combine them all but I always look forward to your work. I grew up with my grandparents and grandpa was a wwII soldier. I have learned so much from Mark's work than any other source of wwII, and I just wish I was able to talk to grandpa about how amazing he was to just survive it. Mark Felton’s videos never disappoint… he’s a meticulous researcher and an engaging narrator; Mark makes historical facts and personalities come alive (I can picture poor Col. Murphy, “frustratingly hung over” and running to the toilet every 10 minutes to relieve himself, stepping over Himmler’s still warm body each time). I’m always learning new details about events I’ve been fascinated with since I was a kid… Another great job, Mark !

I grew-up hearing these tales from my late Dad, a USAAC Intelligence Officer, who worked briefly for MI5 & MI3 in wartime London, before rejoining his combat unit in mid 1944. Dad never knew why he had been requested by MI5, nor why his small project was remoted by MI5 back under MI3. Dr. Felton has done a great service by finding, organizing, & preserving these sets of information for future generations.

@@horsthumbug1612 A lot of Nazis stood firm on their beliefs. Hermann Göring, Joseph Goebbels, Adolf Eichman, Martin Bormann to name a few. Himmler was the 2nd most powerful man in Germany and was about to sell out the country behind Hitlers back while the rest of the top brass were prepared to die in Germany or escape. Himmler was the definition of a weasel.

So I heard about the war from American's point of view from my Dad and the German's point of view from Mom. She stated of all the Nazis the German people feared Himmler the most and they all hated him. Love the channel People needed to remember the war and the high cost is lives we loss. Cheers ☕☕👮‍♂💂‍♂

"Good" for people who were slithering around doing all manner of dodgy deals which wouldn't have done their public image much good (ie. Churchill). A little knowledge is great power, but unfortunately for Himmler, he knew TOO much and couldn't be allowed to spill his guts.

Thanks you for your video. Very interesting and informative. WWII was multifaceted with many levels. Many years ago I worked in banking. Had the privileged to meet: a CPO (86yo) that told me his first hand account of Pearl Harbor. He was onshore..then everything broke loose. A radio operator that still had classified books. A man that was in the battle of the Bulge with trench foot etc. One veteran telling me the cruiser was hit, they scrambled to throw anything that floated overboard. The ship capsized slowly that they went with the roll/hull, it stayed afloat, they on the hull, and were rescued in 3 hrs, however they were terrified that the oil all over would ignite.
