Honestly a good sub effect of a lick move where they gain health with a food based pokemon and lose it with a stinky or trash mon would be a nice effect

Another alternative type possibility: the MAN type. Because how many Pokemon are just "That's just a guy"? XD

To me, the most logical type to add, besides just none, is an Elastic/Rubber type. Give it to bouncy and flexible Pokemon like Drifloon, Jigglypuff, Bellibolt, Wailord, Lickilicky, Blacephelon, Azuril, etc, make it really good against types like electric and poison, which can't do much to rubber, but weak to more cutting and blunt-trauma-like types like steel and normal.
I wouldn't want the Taste type to ever happen in Pokémon, and quite honestly I don't want the Light or Sound types to ever happen either. The Fairy type IS the Light type, and Sound is already a category of moves and doesn't need to be its own type.
This is such a cool video. However, I feel like the name "Flavor Type" would be much more fitting.
"Taste" implies the lack of the other 5 senses. We don't need Vision, Hearing, Touch and Smell.
I feel like moves such as Frost Breath, Egg Bomb, Salt Cure, Powder & Decorate could be reTyped.
the thing a lot of people forget when making new typings is that the only old pokemon that get the new type are normal types like clefairy and jigglypuff or single typed pokemon like marill and magnemite. no non-normal types are ever replaced. that's why celebi and jirachi didn't change to fairy.
If you lick a steel ice type you should always get automatic freeze

Because the fairy type is not just the pink and kindness but also sweetness like the sweet tooth. I like to think that it’s why many dessert like Pokémon tends to be fairly.

Great concept, I feel Golbat and maybe Haunter should get the taste type too simply because their tongues are sticking out, but having them gain a type from one evolution and then lose it with the next doesn't make sense so maybe not
Cloyster is based on an oyster. People eat oysters. It can keep the taste type with the water type
Goodra gets its steel typing from the giant shell on its back that is like its snail shell. I know some may think it's a tail, but the animations in legends arceus show it hiding in there and so the steel typing comes from that hard surface and casing

They don't need to make a new type for everything, don't certain sorts of moves have unique effects? Like sound based moves, etc. That is the perfect extra layer that was needed without making a bunch of superfluous typings.
Fairy type is also a type for fairy tales that’s why some fairy’s like grimsnarl are fairy types.
It's literally based on a type of fairy.

You didn't sell me on this type, unfortunately. I'd like to see a fossil/dinosaur type. And please no one say "oh, but, Dragon", because GF are too tight fisted with that typing

It would be nice to get a nice, rounded(or silly) type for Gen 10.
I have for a long time been of the opinion that it would have been better to prune and/or merge some types. 18 types (19 with Stellar Type) is just too many, and it's too hard to to keep track of all weaknesses & resistances. If you pruned/merged the types, you could make an easier to understand weakness/resistance chart.
Taste should be immune to water because of saliva. Or water being immune to taste cause water has no TASTE
I would have gone with a space type or tech type if you want to avoid the most appropriate sound type idea
All of psychic type then could be separated into taste/smell/sight/sound/touch/thought types. Personally i think it's a bit pointless, appealing to Okkam's razor.
You're high, Inteleon is super cool. I'm not saying it's even top 100 but a secret agent Pokémon that transforms into a sniper is dope. I personally think it's cooler than it's real life reference James Bond.

I think 18 types is the most balanced Pokémon will ever be, but if we are to get a new type it would be better to simply replace a old type with that new type, with better type effectiveness. By proposal is the Beast-type. Most if not all Normal-types would be made Beast-type (as will a lot of those moves, with a few exceptions becoming the different types). The type effectives would be Beast is super effective on Ghost, Bug and ground. Weak to fire (they have fur), and ice, and Dragon (dragon NEEDS to have something it's good against other than just dragon). It's resistant to Water, Electric and Dark. It's not good against Dark (both types resist each other) Steel and Flying (how will they reach it?). All pure Normal-types are beast-type. All part Normal-types lose the type.

I think Cherubi would be a taste type as well, for the same reasons Bounsweet would get the type :D . I think taste type could be a cool consept and definetly something I haven't heard anyone else talk about before
I am a hater of the sound type bc that’ll be like if they introduced a punching type or a slicing type. Sound is a classification of a move. If they made Sound a type then stuff like sparkling aria or torch song would have to be sound time, and then that would remove the whole gimmick of those being the starters type matching move. And then basically everything sound move related would have to be removed/reworked because you can’t have throat spray that’s just boosts your special attack when you use a sound move
So, in case you didn't know Lickitung is based on a chameleon.
