- Join Shawn & Charlotte as we return to Alton Towers for our summer 2019 vlog from the UK's biggest theme park! In this action packed video we share footage of all the major rides at the park including Wicker Man, Nemesis, The Smiler and many more Alton Towers favourites.
We also check out all of the changes across the park since our last visit including the construction taking place for this years Scarefest event. Along with sharing our thoughts on what we can expect from this years event, we also head into The Alton Towers Dungeon to see if there's any changes since earlier this year.
As Alton Towers starts to tease the 2020 addition to the park, we head up to Cloud Cuckoo Land to check out the latest developments taking place. We share our thoughts on the construction along with talking about what we'd like to see added to the park. All of this and much more in our action packed summer vlog from Alton Towers!

I absolutely love the park. The chaotic roars in x-sector, the deep fresh air in forbidden valley, the magical atmosphere in towers street, the pounding music of wicker man, the dark gloomy sounds of thirteen and many more things.

This is probably going to sound nuts to people. The music playing during the Wicker Man queue part, sounds like Mariah Carey high notes were lifted from her songs, altered and blended into the music.
Anyway, I envy you guys overseas. I've learned that American parks have nothing on UK parks in terms of theming and unique ride experiences. I own these new insights to this very channel. It's become must see "tv" for me. When I see they latest vlog posted, I don't hesitate to click.

Astro Wiz I love the fact that it’s not so IP heavy. Too much stuff is attached to IP’s here in America. I know there’s lots of that going on overseas, but it doesn’t seem anywhere near as big as here. Are there dark rides here in America that aren’t attached to IP’s? I’m talking the big parks, not fairs and boardwalks. Very few, I bet. I know about Soarin’. And if I’m wrong, please enlighten me. I’m mainly seeing Marvel and Star Wars taking over. When I see stuff like Disney’s Hollywood Studios compared to what they have overseas, I envy our overseas brothers and sisters! I forget which vlog it was (I’m almost positive it wasn’t a UK park), but I remember seeing a log flume (or it could have been a dark ride) that had people nude as part of the ride. No superhero’s. No fairytales. It was interesting to see. I’ve been exposed to some of the most bizarrely, awesome stuff, thanks to this vlog. As a California native, it’s refreshing!
I had to edit because of a thought. I can’t imagine a major park here in America getting a Popcorns Revenge (I’m so tired of seeing that Buzzlightyear laser ride thing).

Wow, last time I went to Alton towers in June, it was the hottest day of the year and reached 35* at one point, they were giving out free smart water
I went then but there was no free water :(

When I went it was the worst day of the year so far jealous

@@2dr_storm414 I as there on that day in front of Shaun and Charlotte in the Wickerman queue. I as with two friends (One can be seen in front of me, tall and in a blue t-shirt) We sprinted there as soon as the gates opened. Shaun and I were both at the front of the queue to get into the park, but he was 2 rows away from me.

Love an Alton towers vlog. A great ride I feel that doesn't need warming up is Gold Striker at California's Great America. Been on it during the morning and it whips around, also RailBlazer single rail coaster is amazing. Rumors are a B&M hyper coaster at 210ft is coming in 2020 maybe. Other coasters and rides as well, definitely worth visiting. Always love all the videos. Thank you.

I'm probably going on Saturday. I can't wait. First time I've been since I was around 7 in 2010. So I can't really remember it. So excited. We live closer to thorpe park but we no longer have merlin annual passes like we did when I was younger.

I haven't been to Alton Towers since they took out The Flume. I'm sure Wicker Man is a great ride but it will never be the same. sigh. It was just after Magic Mountain took out Log Jammer to put in Full Throttle! RIP classic flume rides.

the flume was my favourite ride there when i went the first time. i just found the giant ducks and the concept of riding in a bath tub hilarious. i went again for my birthday back in june 2019 and i didnt realise the flume had been replaced. i was on the brink of tears ngl

Plot twist the flume is being rebuilt in cantanga canyon
I went in the Easter holidays of 2019 and the most I waited, was 20 mins for oblivion 😂. I’m going on the 28th September and hopefully it will be the same 🤣😭

Alton Towers is a 3 hour drive away for me, and I haven't been in 4 years. Luckily for me we've just booked up to go on the 2nd weekend of October and it'll be my first Scarefest. I'm excited to say the least! Hope to see you there!
I did Rita in the rain. Not recommended, unless you want to be pummeled by bullets.
I also got REALLY lucky with Nemesis. When we got in the queue, the ride closed temporarily, which turned out to be the addition of a new train, and thus the queue time halved. Then, just when we got off the ride, it closed for good and didn't open for the rest of the day.
Also, don't ride Oblivion in the rain, pelted by sharp rain bullets like you said, but hurts more than Rita cuz oblivion is faster at the drop point

@@MattFromWiiSportsResort I was there on Friday and all the rides were either on 0 minutes or 10, even the staff on smiler were having trouble getting full trains aswell as balancing them it was insane.

If the whole of Cloud Cuckoo Land is being refurbished, then my theory is that they have closed off House of Monsters to work on it now and then they'll close Cloud Cuckoo Land off (both entrances) at the end of the summer, then work on it till opening weekend and announce it all in the winter.

I went on Thirteen and I looked down after the ride and there was a £10 note on the floor, I was so happyyyyy 😂💕 Lysm
When I have been to Alton Towers the smiler was a 20 minute queue and I screamed the whole ride as it was going.
See, no offense but I don't understand why people "scream" is it a fear thing? I've never done it so I rly don't get it lol
