This is my childhood park. Now, imagine driving out to SSC, and there was nothing but trees....not that way now, sadly. You parked in front of the Hospitality House, and only paid for a ride ticket. The rides.... The Flooded Mine and the Train. When Fire in the Hole opened.... we thought we had gone big time! It is SO different now, but still enough reminders from when this now 57 year old was 6. I am grown up enough to admit.... I shed a few tears. I have been in Germany now for nearly 17 years.... I MISS HOME!!!!! THANK YOU for taking me back to part of my past!
Your gonna make me cry! I grew up at this place. I'm only 15, but growing up in Missouri, I went here at least 5 times every year if not more. Because I love it so much, u brought so many memories to me :( I moved to cali about 5 years ago and I really wanna go back. :(
LadyDragonsblood hi, we are the same age. I grew up and still live in Kansas City. My family discovered this great park when we were on our way to see Fantastic Caverns in Springfield and saw signs for SDC and my parents thought it sounded interesting. Like yo said we parked at the entrance and all the attractions besides the crafts and cave, which were great, were a stage coach ride, the train, and flooded mine. We fell in love with the area and are loyal patrons to this day. My youngest sister now lives in Branson and her children work at the park. I lived in Holland for 2 years and the week we moved back I took my wife there who loved it. I hope you get back to the states some time and get to go again.
The backwards track section on Powder Keg is there because the coaster doesn't have any brake fins on the launch, so if a rollback on the top hat occurs, the train will roll back onto that section of track, until it eventually valleys. It is simply there for safety reasons. :)
The joy is palpable. As.a Missourian, very proud of SDC. It’s truly a wonderful park. Coaster enthusiasts will find it very easy to marathon the park’s coasters, as they are almost always walk-ons.
Love the silver dollar city newspapers. Coolest thing ever. Time traveler with a small indoor section would make it one of my favourite coasters. So sad that it didn’t come. The cave at this park is also incredible. Highly recommended.
So honored you have you here in my home, America. As of yesterday, we celebrated this wonderful country filled with world class rides. We hope you are enjoying your stay.
Your vlogs have introduced me to so many awesome looking parks. I’d never even heard of Europa Park before your videos and now it’s a bucket list park for me and now Silver Dollar City. I knew of it but had no idea what was there. I have to go!
This park looks incredible! I love the theming. We could tell you were struggling through the first couple of parks so it’s a joy to see you two so happy here. You both seem to truly love the experience here and its well deserved. Thanks for pushing trough the sickness for all of us!
Hi guys, great vlog, as always. What an awesome, and great looking park, Silver Dollar City is. Loved Alex milking the cow, ha, was he stocking up on supplies, ha, he should have brought an empty milk bottle, ha, ha.
Aww guys what a beautiful park loved the vlog . I'm glad you were feeling better. Alex makes me laugh so much . You 2 are amazing I love the chemistry between you . I constantly find myself referring to you shawn when we talk about theme parks and what you said about them and what they are like . Thanks for sharing with us xxxx
So glad you experienced this great park. I first went with my family as a small boy in 1968. It’s changed much over the years but has kept the charm. I hope you do come back and spend more time here and really take in all that the park has to offer. See the cave, eat the great food and take in the shows. Cheers
I grew up in Central FL around busch gardens, Universal and disney... but my favorite park has always been Dollywood. When I found out that SDC was owned by the same company, it became my bucket list park. I haven't gone yet, but I am so thankful for this comprehensive tour! So incredible. You do so much for all of us folks without the time and resources to travel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
On grandfathers mansion where it says Grandpa says the walk slow when you come in, that little bridge kind of thing you walk across actually moves back-and-forth little bit
So glad you're feeling better, Sean and that you both really enjoyed this park. Never been, but it looks amazing with all the trees. Lots and lots of shade. Can't wait for your Dollywood visit!
Your best vlog ever! Just seeing the joy on both your faces was priceless. Looks like a cracking park that I'm hoping to visit next in a very much scaled down version of your road trip. Excellent work guys.
I live about 30 minutes away from Silver Dollar City. We've been getting season passes every year since I was a little girl. It has changed so much over the years. Where the construction is now it used to be The Lost River - a white water rafting type of ride. It was a great ride which I miss. Love this park so much, especially at Christmas. I'm glad you enjoyed it us much as we do!
I’m glad you guys really like silver dollar city. This is actually the only big theme park I’ve ever been to. Ever since I was a kid we would come here. It has changed a lot even in the past 20 years but it’s a lot of fun and the theme they have there is very authentic and awesome!
Watching all your vlogs Shawn your personality and enthusiasm is infectious, great you cover the flats and family coasters and general history of the parks, as well as the big coasters.. You and Alex are lucky to travel all over the world. Your vlogs will watch them all cheering me up no end. Way to go. x
As someone who grew up going to this park and has a lot of nostalgia for SDC, it really brought a smile to my face seeing how much you both enjoyed the charm of it. Love the channel!
SDC is such an awesome park and it’s really grown in the last 10-15 years. With Outlaw Run being the first wooden RMC and Time Traveler, it’s a park that is leading in innovation of new concepts. I’m so glad it’s a park that is in reasonable driving distance for me and is a park I try to visit at least once a year.
One of my fave vlogs from you and my fave vlog series at the minute! so fun to see your first reactions to all these parks and you and Alex together are a fantastic duo.
What a great park, I am not into big roller coasters and would be quite happy just wandering around the park. We noticed quite a few elderly people in the background so it must be a park for all ages. Looking forward to Dollywood which we visited in1995.
I grew up going to this park and never realized how lucky I was to have such an amazing park nearby! I have been coming here since wildfire was the only major coaster and since before I was tall nigh to ride wildfire! Coming back here in my late 20s has been amazing! There is so much nostalgia while also getting an entirely new experience given all the new coaters and attractions!

I just discovered your channel and I absolutely love it! What made it even more outstanding was seeing you and Alex at SDC which used to be my home park. To me, it's what a theme park should be. The atmosphere is amazing , the rides are thrilling, people are nice, scenery is beautiful, shops are quaint, and food is amazing. I love that you can go there and not have to use an app to schedule a ride like at other places. You can just wander around and experience everything without waiting hours for one line. Makes you wish they could somehow implement that crazy riding technique from Time Traveller on Euro Mir without making it lose its character. Hopefully there'll be another Mack coaster like this in Europe soon! It looks fantastic.

That rollback must be nuts in the back row
There are also some friction brakes right behind the launch, just in case.
And it adds to the theming with the old track on the roof
What a stunning looking park, love the theming they've got. Time Traveller looks so good!
It was excellent!

😂😂😂 You two are pure gold. Jealous isn't the word whilst watching this. What a Park. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍
glad yall finally got some luck with the rmcs, hope it continues for the rest of the trip.
I have never even heard of this park, and now I'm planning a special trip to MO just to go here. Looks amazing!
Lol loved the reaction to the odd train show. It only stops because the train has to build up enough steam to make it back up the hill to the station.
