Terry Pratchett is my joy author. I can re-read a Pratchett book and it doesn't matter how many times I've read it I know I'll feel good while I'm reading it again
100% , anything in the discworld series is Joy, magnified.
I adore Scalzi thanks to you introducing me to him, and this was my favorite so far! ❤
I'm glad you have this author who gives you so much joy. 📚
I love Scalzi too ❤
great video, joy shines
right through your eyes.
my joy author these
days is caroline mitchell,
I love everything she writes
and all of her characters. 🙂
So glad I found your channel. Your reviews bring me joy! I might even try scifi since you make it sound really interesting!
This book sounds fantastic. I wanna read the Kaiju one first but I'll get to this one eventually.
I laughed out loud when you said the kaijus' names were Edward and Bella. I'm glad an author brings you so much joy. I like reading Stephen King. He brings me joy and comfort. Looking forward to hearing about vampires. 🦇🖤
This book has been an my audible wish list for a little while now.
And I originally put it on there because Will, Wheaton.
The person who played.
Wesley Crusher on Star Trek. The next generation narrates it. I did not realize the author who wrote red shirts also wrote this.
It's just kind of a little weird Star Trek Thread ❤
Christopher Moore is always fun for me. Thanks for your
recommendation.
I'm very new to your channel (and subscribed!) and on your suggestion I began reading (urmmmm...listening) to 'Redshirts' by John Scalzi, and IT'S SO GOOD!!!
As I went on several errands in my neighbourhood, I kept snickering and gaffawing - in public.
Thank you so much for recommending a new to me fantastic author, and I'm super excited to dive deeper into their other works.
I know I’m preaching to the choir but Becky Chambers in my joy bringing author.
For sure, she’s magnificent
Same here! Becky Chambers' writing just feels like a warm hug to me.
Okay, here we go again😁. End of month, end of book budget, but now I HAVE to read Scalzi. I'll start with the two that will probably be most up my alley, i.e. the one with the dinosaur-ish creatures (you know of course which one I mean). And, as a devoted Trekkie for almost four decades, I have to have Red Shirts. Sorry, budget. I have no choice, I'm being influenced 😆😗
I'm glad Scalzi's writing makes you happy. He definitely appeals to a lot of people, but I'm not one of them. I'm a big SF reader and have tired a few of his books--Fuzzy Nation, Old Man's War and Agent to the Stars. I DNF'd all of them. There's just something about his writing that makes me feel tired, like someone hanging over you, expecting you to respond in a certain way. I'm way too autistic for that. Right now, the author that's giving me the most joy is Martha Wells.
Oh that’s very interesting!
The author who is currently giving me a lot of joy is P. Djeli Clark. A Master of Djinn was like, how did you manage to shove in almost everything on my list of things I love, many of which are under used? Djinn, angels, monsters, steampunk, early jazz, magic, cross-dimensional existential threats, a murder mystery, a woman dandy, a trans character... and somehow it's not a complete mess, but instead a great romp.
upon your enthusiastic recommendation, I've just preordered the paperback of Starter Villain
Great video.
The authors that give me the most joy are Raymond Chandler, Daphne Du Maurier and Mariana Enriquez.
Great choices (although I’ve never read Chandler, whoops)
I picked up this book based on cover art (American version with a cat in a business suit). It made me laugh out loud.
I would really like to hear what you think of "Locked in".
Have you read woodworm by layla Martinez? Horror originally spanish
